Customers are saying

Customers commend the 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor for its large screen size, ease of use, and excellent quality, frequently praising its design and resolution. While some wish for built-in speakers and a higher refresh rate, many appreciate the monitor's lightweight design and the lack of eye strain. A few users noted the absence of a VESA mount and limitations with the stand's adjustability.

I upgraded to a slightly larger monitor to go with the PC upgrade. I've been using it for almost a year, and am very pleased. I don't do gaming, so it is certainly more than adequate. Much lighter than my old one, so easier to move on the desk if I need to.

I bought this monitor to set up my work station since I already had an HP 27f. It pairs well with the 27f but the problem is that, since both have different vesa mounts, it's hard to align them on a single desk with dual monitor arms. Also, it was very difficult to find a mount, which matches the m series hp monitors. I returned the monitor, howere, If you are planning to not use with monitor arms, HPs are generally cheap monitors with the good quality and slim design. If any of the HP have a proper vesa mounts without third party accessories, that would be a game changer. I'm still keeping my 27f (2018) and that pairs great with a Dell 2721dgf for my home office dual screen. Another observation, 2018 27f still wins against 2021 m 27f in terms of picture clarity with no adjustments. It may be possible to optimize and sync both monitors adjusting the matching profile, but it was never easy for me.

My old mac desktop has finally slowed down to the point of insanity, so I decided to set up a port for my newer MacBook Pro laptop. This monitor has a very clear and well defined picture and was very easy to hook up.

    A Cool Looking Everyday Monitor

IPS monitors provide excellent color reproduction as well as much better viewing angles and the HP M27f Full HD monitor is just that monitor for your everyday use. The M27f isn’t your traditional IPS monitor though; it’s very simple in design, yet more contemporary with its unique monitor stand and silver accents. The monitor’s bezels are fairly thin and the chin is of an acceptable size. It allows for two HDMI and one VGA inputs. Monitor controls are tucked underneath the chin with a single LED light to indicate power as well as a tiny symbol designating where the power button is located. Right in the center of the chin is the HP logo. Overall, the monitor just looks really, really cool. This monitor is probably the lightest, thinnest monitor I’ve ever owned. A monitor’s stand typically puts on the weight to allow for stability, but the combination of its thin screen and its uniquely designed stand is well balanced. It also probably has to do with the limited adjustability of the screen as you can only forward tilt it to and fro; you cannot raise or lower the monitor, and you cannot switch it to landscape. Other omissions are the ability to VESA mount this monitor as there are no mounting provisions for it. You’ll have to rock the stand it came with. Performance? It’s an IPS monitor with a generous 75Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync. Probably not a gamer’s monitor, but photo viewing, movie watching and the like are indeed enjoyable experiences with the M27f. Bringing up the OSD, there are many options to play with to get the monitor dialed in for your needs. I flipped between Neutral and Native for as they both provided a more natural color output that was easy on the eyes. Speaking of easy, HP Eye Ease is a feature that reduces blue light to help one get to bed easier. It's synonymous with cell phones that “warms” the screen to help aid in sleep. Viewing angles on the M27f are fantastic no matter which angle you’re coming from. Try this on a VA or TN panel and your screen begins to degrade or disappear. Other honorable mentions -- on the backside, there is a small groove in the stand for cable management...and that’s all I can say about the backside. HP decided to go with a power brick to keep the monitor light and super thin and that doesn’t bother me unless I manage to lose the power brick somehow. Cons?? Like I mentioned above, it has limited adjustability as well as mountability. Also, there are no speakers if you’re looking for sound output. There is a VGA port, which confuses me to this day. I thought we got rid of those a long time ago. It seems to be the still ongoing trend for many 1080p displays made today. Finally, there’s the price. IPS monitors generally are more expensive than their VA/TN counterparts at the equivalent resolution and refresh rate. But you do get the better color saturation and viewing angles. But when competing with the other 27” FHD IPS monitors in its class, the M27f is an aesthetics first, function second kind of monitor. No doubt, the monitor looks cool, but there are other monitors that can be adjusted in every which way as well as be VESA mounted if you choose to, all with the IPS benefits at around the same price range. So if you’re looking for a 27” FHD IPS monitor and you love the way the M27f looks, yet know its physical limitations, I’d say go for it. It’s just a sleek looking monitor all around, it visually performs well, and ultimately gets a recommendation from me.
