Customers are saying
Customers find value in the large screen size, excellent price, and ease of use of the 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor. The clarity and design also receive positive feedback. However, some customers wish it included speakers and a sturdier stand, while others note the lack of a VESA mount and that the refresh rate is limited. The screen's susceptibility to glare is also a point of contention for some users.

Thin and Bright HP Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing I said out loud after sliding the box off this monitor was Wow. It's Wow thin. I can't believe how thin they can make an LED/LCD these days. Pros: Super Bright Matte Screen kills glare Almost no bezel to speak of physical buttons for controls multiple inputs WOW THIN, amazingly thin display classy silver color Included stand Adjustments at the stand/monitor mounting point Cons: Three inputs... but two are HDMI and no DVI No VESA mounting points for other stands the included stand is a little finicky/not as sturdy as I'd like physical buttons aren't labeled not 4k This monitor is at home on your desk at work or attached to your gaming PC at home. Quick responses, bright backlighting, and matte finish to reduce glare make it ideal in both situations. I think the most glaring negative for this particular screen is that it HAS to be used with the included stand, no VESA mounting points are to be found. They may be casualties of the thin screen. Overall a great performer, just beware if you should be in the market for a 4K display, scaling the screen of a surface/surface pro/new macbook from 4k to 1080p will look funny.

Do not buy if you intend to watch videos.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beware if you plan to watch any videos with this monitor, especially any scenes that are dark. The backlight glow in the corners is completely unacceptable and ruins the whole experience. I have since read that IPS glow is an inherent issue with the technology but this is ridiculous. When I first turned it on, I thought it was perfect. The desktop picture was clear and bright. Then I sat back to watch a video and was totally disappointed. See attached photos using a black screen test online. Also, there was mold all over the assembly instructions when I opened the box, not sure if that happened at the factory or in transit but it was pretty disgusting. Returning.

Outstanding Monitor for Home / Office Set-Up
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to receive this complimentary HP – 27f27 Inch IPS LED FreeSync Monitor In exchange for an honest review. It was replacing my older 20 inch monitor. Out of the shipping box I had the stand assembled, plugged in to my surge protection strip, HDMI cable connected, and running in less then 15 minutes. This monitor is simple to install. I only needed a flat-blade screwdriver to assemble the stand and set-up in my home office. First Impressions: * The stand is solidly built, tilts top forward, and, or, top backwards for more personalized viewing angles. However, it does not move side to side or rotate. * The monitor is ultra thin and has a small bezel framing the top and both sides to provide maximum viewing area. * 2 HDMI and VGA inputs. * The monitor screen is finished in matte black, which provides great anti-glare protection. This is an important feature for me because of the overhead lighting in my home office. * Security cable slot, which is ideal for office working environments to prevent theft. * There are five buttons located on the far right-hand bottom of the monitor: - The first button, farthest to the right, turns the monitor ON/OFF. An LED facing the front indicates the status of the unit. White LED indicates ON. Amber LED indicates no signal. - The next four buttons control the On Screen Display (OSD) settings. - The first button activates the Main Menu/OK functions. You can select the settings for Brightness, Contrast, Color, Input, Power, Management, Language, and Information about the monitor. - The next two buttons move your selection up or down with indicating arrows. - The fourth OSD button allows you to select various Viewing Modes – Low Blue Light, Night, HP Enhanced+, Gaming-FreeSync, Movie, Photo, and Custom. * Both HDMI and VGA cables are furnished with this monitor. What I Love About This Monitor: * Screen resolution is crisp, clear, and awesome * The monitor screen is wide enough so that I can work on two pages of documents at the very same time. WooHoo! * Colors are dynamic, rich, and vibrant. When I use HD Videos the colors are very accurate. * Black matte finish on the monitor screen is so important to me because of my home office lighting and abundant sun light from a nearby window. No eye strain. Great! * Easy to operate OSD controls to adjust brightness and viewing modes for that particular display you are using. It was an unbelievable difference when I adjusted from Custom, the setting I mostly use, to Photo, to work on editing some recent photos I took. * No 'cheesy', on-board speakers to deal with, which most monitors are infamous for. Have my own upgraded sound system through my computer because I got tired of the 'tinny' sounding monitor speakers. * This HP 27f27 only uses 27 watts of power. Low energy cost saves me money. YooHoo! * The IPS viewing angles allow me to move around in my home office (within reasonable limits) and still read the display without distortion. * Am so impressed with this monitor am thinking of purchasing another since my computer has two video cards and supports two monitors. I can always use the other just for my laptop. * Easy to clean monitor screen. Wipe with a dry anti static cloth or a 50/50 mix of water and isopropyl alcohol as recommended by the manufacturer. * Energy Saving Feature – By default in the reduced power mode the screen will go blank and the ON/OFF LED will glow amber when no signal is detected. However, you can adjust the predetermined time the screen goes blank and reduced power mode is activated. * One Year Warranty. You can register this monitor on-line at the HP website. TIP – You can go online to HP Support and download the 'On-Line User Guide' for more comprehensive details and illustrations concerning the operation of this monitor. For the past two weeks I have enjoyed using this HP monitor and getting familiar with the OSD settings (which I change frequently for the display I am working on). It is easy to operate and it is an outstanding home / office monitor with lots of great features. I highly recommend the purchase of this HP 27f27 for your own use, a back-to-school-student, or any family member or friend, who needs an all-around monitor with excellent quality. At its price-point it offers a lot of value for what you purchase.

Faulty Hardware
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The monitor would go to sleep and when it would wake back up the display would have lost the blue & green colors out of the background image. So everything was yellow & orange. If powered off\on, or changed to a different input source & back again, all would be fine. Until it went to sleep and woke back up yellow & orange. Worked with HP to get replaced under warranty as this happened within 30 days of purchase & the replacement monitor had a bad pixel out of the box. And while working with HP the support connection closed "due to network failure".

Great monitor but has bright spots
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second HP monitor. The first one is still working flawlessly and I loved it so much I decided to buy another one for my home office. However, the quality on this one is much worse. On a black screen, the LED panel has some bright spots. See attached photos with areas circled in red. If you are planning to watch movies or doing photo editing, those spots would really be a distraction.

Plug and play
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up for the sole purpose of using it as a gaming monitor. Set up took about two minutes including mounting the monitor to the base and plugging it into the wall. The monitor itself is incredibly thin and the screen is both sleek and beautiful. There are two hdmi ports in the back, so I hooked up my PlayStation and we were off the races. The function buttons are in the lower right corner under the screen, where you’d traditionally find them. They include a power button, input switch, and settings to change the display. Out of the box the display looks great so while you can tune it to your liking, it’s not necessary. Either way, between the ease of setup and look of the screen, I’m more than pleased.

Looked Great at First
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi i originally loved this monitor but after having it only three months it developed a line down the side that is only getting bigger. I contacted Best Buy to exchange it for the same one but they refused and sent me back to HP. This sucks!!! I am now spending more time trying to get this monitor replaced. First time i have ever left a one star review.

Not very good first impression
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased 2 of them, the first one we opened had a black line from top to bottom on right side. Returned for refund. Waiting to see how second one is when the person I purchased it for opens it. Not worth the money even on sale for 109 like I paid for it.

Open box products, paid as new
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered a new product and paid for a new product but i received a open box. I was not able to complain about this issue. There is no support email for this kinda matter. Product was used, and you sold me as a new. Product by itself is good but it was not new.

Very Nice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like other reviews posted, I too found the packaging of the HP - 27f 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor in Natural Silver well-done and in great shape, and the setup was effortless because only the monitor's stand needed to be attached. The only items that accompanied the monitor in the box were the stand, carefully wrapped to prevent damage, an HDMI cable, the power source, and a quick setup guide. The design is very sleek from an aesthetics standpoint and it does have both HDMI and VGA ports on the back of the screen which allows it to be used on both old and new computers that may or may not have HDMI ports. So, since I initially attached this monitor to an older computer, I needed VGA cables to make the connection and unfortunately, those were not included. While that is not a deal breaker in any way, it would have been nice to have both type of cables included since HP does not know what type of monitor ports are on the computer being attached. The connection is seamless and easy to make. The picture is beautiful and the screen resolution is crisp and clear. I like that the monitor screen is wide enough so that it is easy to minimize a few screens and line them up next to each other so that I can simultaneously be working on various tasks. The matte finish on the monitor is a great anti-glare feature since the lighting in my office is overhead fluorescent back from the 1980's. I am a CPA and tax season hours can create huge eye strain.. I also like that it is easy to get a good view from the sides without distortions, in case you get up, but still want to reference the data on the screen. All the setting controls are on the far right side, underneath, of the screen. I did go onto HP's website and download their more in depth user guide, which informs you about all the various settings that are available.
