Terrific
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the HP 27q 27" LED QHD Monitor; it's a really terrific addition to my home office. I had been on the hunt for a nice monitor in the 23-27 inch range and am very glad I was able to get this HP. Image quality is superb. Color balance was spot-on right out of the box. And there was no latency I could detect. I've used it for work, games, and video streaming. It handles everything with ease. I like the fact it has several types of video inputs. I use both standard HDMI (for my desktop) and a DisplayPort (for my Surface Pro 4). They both transmit a clean signal. Setup and controls are easy. It really is pretty much plug-and-play. As always, I checked calibrations, but nothing seemed to need any significant adjustment. I'm getting older, and my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. I really appreciate the size of the monitor as well as the 2k Quad resolution. Everything looks crisp and clear. I'm particularly impressed at this price point. If you're in the market for a larger monitor, I can confidently recommend the HP 27q 27" LED QHD Monitor.

Solid monitor from HP
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP 27q LED QHD monitor provides an OK viewing angle, with beautiful colors (over 3 million colors). Black levels look great on this, especially when playing Blu-ray movies on my computer and video games. Even from the side of the monitor, the colors seem crisp and vibrant. Black and white levels suffer a bit, unfortunately. Though the picture quality does not seem as focused as it does when you are looking head on, either. I also tested both a video game and Blu-ray movie on my computer to compare quality, and latency. While playing GTA 5 on PC, the colors stood out very well and in a high police chase scene there were no latency issues, which is a plus with the 60hz refresh rate. However, when I popped in a blu-ray movie on my PC latency issues persisted. I was specifically watching a fight scene in Taken and a chase scene. Both scenes provided light "judding" from the fast movements, which is odd because I did not see this present while playing a PC game. The monitor's build is great; it is a solid piece and the base snaps easily into the monitor. A Phillip's head is needed to securely fasten the the monitor in place to the stand. I was impressed with the thin bezel, too. Depending on your room, you may need to tweak the black levels, of course, which is what I did and again the colors and levels are stunning. It only has one HDMI port, unfortunately. However, I would recommend a switch especially if you plan to hook up your gaming systems to this as well. That way you do not have to unplug the monitor and plug in your systems periodically. Overall, it is a solid monitor to use. The latency I received in specific scenes of films might be a fluke, but the refresh rate I felt was not high enough. The viewing angle was OK, except from the sides. Furthermore, the colors are bright and vivid and the black levels are great. Again, a solid monitor to use regularly for gaming and video, as long as the judding is not in place.

A great additional monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP - 27q 27" LED QHD Monitor Included- Monitor, DisplayPort cable, and HDMI cable, and quick set up instructions. The design of the monitor is sleek and stylish It. I like the thin black edge around the monitor. There is a silver bar about 7/8" high that runs along the bottom of the screen where the controls are located. The silver stand is heavy and sturdy. The base measures a bit large at 7 7/8" by 8 1/2". So it will take up a decent amount of desk space. The screen is antiglare and has a slight tilt to it for better viewing. This monitor boasts 3.7 million pixels for stunning definition. It does not disappoint in the picture quality with such high resolution. It is very crisp and clear which is great for detailed work. You can customize the settings to your personal preference. My husband uses this monitor in a multiple monitor setting. It currently sits in the upper center and it works well for him in that location. He does not have it mounted to the wall right now but it's nice to have that option. The large screen and it's quick 5 ms response time is important since he likes to watch the stock market and trade. If you need an additional monitor for your multiple monitor set up and desire a large screen, this is a great option for it's reasonable price.

Additional cost
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor doesn't come with speakers, which the salesperson didn't tell us at the time of purchase. Needless to say it was another trip and additional cost to buy speakers.

Trash monitor. Resolution is great, colors are poo
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this 1440p monitor because it was on sale for $200, but I don't think it's even worth that. I spent a few hours trying to calibrate it just right, but it's just impossible with this monitor. The contrast control is poor and all of the colors are so washed out. I am going to return this and already bought a bigger Lenovo monitor that is 1440p as well, and the colors on that are already so much better and it was actually cheaper. If you're looking for a solid 1440p monitor in the 27" size, this ain't it.

Bad monitor
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an open box monitor for my laptop to get work done. This was the only monitor they had at the store and decided to give it a try. The monitor was a little blurry and the words had a white shadow (ghosting). It gave a headache, so I ordered another monitor, an LG, which would take 2 weeks for delivery. The HP, is not worth the $$$$. What I did like is that Best Buy extended their return policy from the usual 14 days. I am happy I did not get stuck with a very bad monitor.

Can't adjust brightness!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great other than the fact that I can't lower the brightness! I have a similar HP monitor from a couple years ago & thought by adding a second one, they'd work the same. The other HP has a brightness increase/decrease setting for use at night. This one does not. I bought it in the summer. Now that it's winter and gets dark earlier, it's screaming bright. I feel I need sunglasses! Very dissatisfied.
