    Beautiful Monitor!

The HP 27q is an excellent monitor and I'm very happy to be able to use it. Out of the box, the colors are true and bright. There are many standard settings like cool, warm, normal, i-style color, and user. The default is normal which is actually quite good. I prefer the i-style setting as it just makes things pop. Viewing angle is also good with this monitor. While I wouldn't go quite as far as the specs say (178 degrees), it is easily viewable from a wide angle although the quality does diminish as your angle widens. The base of this monitor is fairly large and isn't 100% flat on the top. That's probably not an issue for 99% of people, but I do like a flat base as I typically have things scattered all over and a flat surface helps me do that--especially if I'm taping notes or stickys. Build quality is excellent and people will think you shelled out some dollars for this monitor even though it has a very reasonable price point of $299. To me, that is very well deserved given the high quality. The bezel is very thin which makes it look like a floating picture and something out of a movie. I love it. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this monitor for a gamer, home office user, or corporate employee looking to replace the standard Dell that sits on their desktop. Pros: *Color *Clarity *Vividness *Bezel size Cons: *Base *Only one HDMI port

A Sharp Monitor With Lots of Visual Options

I paired this HP LED QHD Monitor with my 27" iMac Pro. You can definitely tell a difference between the Apple retina display and the QHD, but I'm very surprised at just how close I can get the two displays to show colors, definition, text clarity, etc. I do design and video work, so having two monitors is a must and making sure they can closely match each other (most of the time anyway) is important to consistency in my work. Setup with this monitor was a snap, it's HDMI-ready AND, bonus, comes with an HDMI cable ready for you to use. The setup requires a screwdriver, but the monitor can angle into place from there. It has no height adjustments on the stand itself (which, I suppose most people do with books and/or shelving now...) but that's the only reason this has 4 stars instead of 5. The stand itself is sturdy and stable and well-balanced without taking up a ton of desk space, the placement of the buttons is reasonable... I can't seem to find an auto-detect signal option to put the monitor to sleep when not in use, but there are no end of menu options. It does have a sleep after a certain number of hours, as well as other energy-saving modes. Where the monitor really shines is that you can customize the color tint, contrast, brightness (it gets REALLY bright), tone, etc... there are a ton of different modes and even some built-in blue-light limiting modes. I was able to match really closely to my iMac Pro monitor. Overall: a solid addition to your multi-monitor workspace.

This 2K monitor from HP is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful display and elegant design, you will not be disappointed. It has lightning quick response time, so virtually no lag for my gaming sessions. The only thing I feel that would make this better would be integrated speakers. It was extremely easy to install the base and connect to my computer, took mere seconds! I like that it is able to tilt slightly up or down for better viewing angles. Again, this display is gorgeous.

I am reviewing HP 27 LED QHD Monitor. To begin, according to HP’s website the response time is 2ms with Overdrive while Best Buy lists the 5ms time. I have yet to mess with the settings myself as I don’t do much gaming on this computer so the Overdrive was not tested. Moving forward this is a modern looking slim monitor with a small amount of bezel on the top and sides. The monitor has 3 connections which is nice, it supports HDMI, Display Port, and DVI giving you a nice selection for your needs. This comes in handy when you start adding monitors to your computer setup and have a set number and type of ports on available on your video card. My experience with HP monitors is that they have great whites and this one does not disappoint. This is proven with a static contrast of 1000:1, however the problem with white whites is that it can strain the eyes after a period of time. HP has included “Low Blue Light” technology that gives you the option of reducing the whiteness and shifting its color to a more pleasing, and still great looking color. This can also help while working in a dark room. With a max resolution of 2560x1440, you get some great detail on your screen. I think the price is a little high ($299) for a TN panel, but you can find it on sale at the Best Buy site (currently) which makes it a much more attractive deal. Conclusion: This monitor has some nice color, especially the whites, and the Low Blue Light really helps ease the eyes when working for a long period of time. I recommend this monitor if you can catch it at a sale price, otherwise it seems a little steep at its retail price.

This monitor produces excellent colors on a bright panel that most will love! The viewing angles aren't great, but even in a multi-monitor setup, I imagine most will not notice. The only other thing to note is that the brightness of the panel does seem to come with a trade off of not very true blacks, especially in dark rooms. I recommend this monitor too anyone looking to go a little above the standard 1080p models.

The 27q is a very nice monitor with an excellent visual display (sharp with great color resolution) right out of the box. Response is fast and viewing from an angle is without distortion. The base has a large footprint; but, on the plus side, it should make the monitor difficult to knock it over. In addition, it is wall mountable, if you prefer that. While the 27q is definitely a great monitor to have, there are peripheral matters to be aware of. The BB online description says an owner’s manual is enclosed. That is incorrect. The almost non-existent information that comes in the box tells you to go to the HP website for owner’s manual and any assistance needed, including checking for software updates. Unless something changes at a later date, entering the serial and product numbers gets no results…so much for online help! Also, set up required some settings tweaking to get audio to work. Once that’s done, it’s all good. If I could have taken off half a star, I would have rated 4.5 due to the informational issues. However, because the 27q’s performance is 5 star, I have rounded up instead of down. It’s also reasonably priced.

I have had about 3 weeks to view and work with this panel. As other reviewers have noted there is no gama adjustment but that can be solved through your GPU. I have had mine mounted on the stand and recently moved to a VESA mount, much better! There is, although slight, a little loss in color and picture quality when viewed at more than 30 degrees. I'm not sure if this is a setting issue or just the panel build? The number of ports is adequate and I have seen very little picture quality change between HDMI and display port which is good. I love the size and built in color adjustment options. Build quality is good and the monitor is pleasing to the eye. I would recommend, particularly if on sale as compared to other monitors in this size range

I’ve been lucky enough to have a few monitors over the years, none better than this HP. First off, it’s just plug and play, nothing else needed to start using it. You can adjust and fine tune it to your liking, but for me it was just about right as is. Now for the picture, crisp, clear and almost too good for just computing. But for me a 27 inch monitor needs to be watched with high quality video. NFL Preseason football was first. No issues there, video was smooth with no issues. Next came a couple of movies, both were again smooth, clear and crisp. Really a 27 inch monitor is probably a bit much, but I figure why not. Looking for a nice big monitor? Get this HP you won’t be sorry.

Overall this is a very nice monitor. I work from home and spend most of my day looking at this screen. Below you will find a few things I think you should know. 1. It only has one HDMI Port! Not the end of the world by I was hoping for two. Yes it also has a DVI and VGA input if you need it. 2. The screen is a great size for work and gaming. I enjoy large screen when working on spreadsheets. 3. The image is clear, sharp and crisp. The color is a little on the yellow side which is good on the eyes but might be a setting thing that you could change.

The HP 27" QHD monitor is very nice, especially for the price. It is good looking with a thin black border wrapping the screen and a sleek silver lower bezel on which the function buttons, located on the bottom edge of the monitor, are clearly marked. It offers good connectivity with HDMI, DVI, and Display port inputs (one of each type), as well as provision for wall mounting with VESA standard attachment. It also provides very nice image quality, although I find that I like it better for photos than for text, as a 27" display almost demands even higher resolution than QHD to keep text from appearing fuzzy. The monitor also offers a nice setup menu with plenty of options for image adjustments and several presets allowing for the quick selection of a group of settings tailored to a certain overall image style. I found this very convenient, as I was able to quickly cycle through the presets and find one that suited me without a lot of fiddling with individual settings or using a calibration program. It is important to note that this is a monitor only, and even though it offers an HDMI input, It will not work for stand-alone use with a streaming device, as either the monitor or the streaming device would need an audio out jack in order to provide a signal to external speakers. The monitor does not have this feature, and I am not familiar with a streaming device that provides an audio out jack. Of course, watching a streaming service directly from a connected computer will still work just fine. If you need a monitor for general use at a good price point, you will be pleased with the HP 27" QHD. It offers good image quality with plenty of real estate for working with multiple windows. It appears to be about 3-1/2 times the size of my 13" MacBook Pro for reference. I would like a couple more connectivity features. Especially the audio out port, and a second HDMI input would also be very nice, but I am very happy with the monitor overall.

This monitor replaced dual monitors, and I'm really happy with the move. Sure it takes a lot of space on my desk, but it is so worth it. The colors are vivid and the images are sharp. I can easily compare documents side-by-side or operate different applications at the same time and there's plenty of space on the display. It has all the connections that I need.
