For a 31.5" monitor, I felt that 1920 x 1080 resolution was just insufficient. For a monitor this size, you NEED a 4K display. I'm not talking about video quality. That was pretty decent (at best). It was the text/written quality that was just not sharp enough. I had plans of using this for coding/programming and it just didn't cut it. I returned this and bought a 24" monitor (same resolution) instead. Smaller screen, but overall - A much better choice!

I would consider myself an IT professional, as a level of skill and troubleshooting computer problems. With that with that said, I have now had this monitor for almost a year, and it's been a frustrating ownership. The screen flickers anytime a video of any kind starts to play. Include a video on a website, a video file running locally on your computer, and it even involves GIFs. The screen flickering problem the closest I was able to figure out what it may be causing it was a bad setting of vertical sync in the Nvidia graphics control panel. This only worked for a day and the problem returned despite trying to replicate the solution. Lately the screen has just been randomly turning black. It will come back on in about 5 seconds. I have used different cables and even used to different graphics cards and the problem still pops up randomly. Lately I have noticed two or more dead pixels. you can notice dead pixels on a screen on a screen if you pull up say a word document and it's all white and you and you maximize the space, you will be able to see the dead pixels. I have 15 days before my warranty runs out. And I'm going to see if HP will honor their warranty. I would not recommend anyone purchasing this monitor.

Great monitor. Very good clarity Perfect size to. I do wish it had the ability to telescope up or down.
