Ink Is Expensive and Runs Low Quickly

There may be little to do about printer ink; I believe companies make their money on the ink rather than the printers. Still, it costs $60 to buy new ink cartridges and all colors need to be replaced together even if not all colors are low. I printed 25 small greeting cards using colored ink and now have a message saying my ink is again low. I'd printed maybe 40 plus several black and white documents before having to replace the last cartridges (print quality became terrible even for black and white). These items were printed over a short period of time -- ink didn't have time to dry out. I'd highly recommend researching the type of ink and cost of ink used for any printer you consider buying.

If you have an HP printer, I've found it's best to buy HP ink, rather than the cheaper generic cartridges. This is particularly true if you have a recent vintage printer (2015 or later). HP ink costs more, but when you consider the overall value of a cartridge optimized for the printer, and the quality of the resulting prints, the HP cartridges provide a reasonable value. The only exception to this rule might be if you only print black and white text documents -- you could save money with generic carts and not notice much of a difference. But if you print in color at all, and especially if you print photos, stick with HP cartridges.

There really is no rating on ink... it's just price. I have been buying ink for about 5 years and it's really a scam. You buy the printer for 100.00, which is only half filled with ink from the beginning. Depending on how often you use the printer you need to buy ink maybe 6 times a year with regular usage. At 50.00 a pop you will be out of 300.00, which is 3x the price of the printer. Please by a laser jet printer!

I barely use my printer but always seem to buy ink. I have to replace all the ink 4 times a year. Maybe made 300 copies and barely 100 pictures a year. I have had the printer for almost 3 years. The ink costs $60 each time. I read switch to HP over cannon because of ink cost and how much you get out of them. Not even close.... I would barely buy 2 sets a year with same usage. Also, normally my canon would run out of colors randomly telling me it uses them properly. It seems odd that the HP would run out of ALL ink at the same time since day one.

    Stunning results with HP paper

The HP color cartridges yield absolutely stunning results when you print on HP's premium photo paper. You really do need the XL versions of the cartridges, otherwise you run out of ink after about 15-20 photos (letter-size). I don't know how long the photos will keep their good looks, but I am thrilled with the results. Don't skimp on refilled cartridges-get the real thing and you'll be thrilled with the results. Still wish I could squeeze out a few more photos out of each cartridge, and yes, the cost adds up, but it's the results that count!

This product is great, convenient and great price. Very high quality on the printing. Note: just be careful with the "free-bonus photo cards". HP purpose is for you to use them all because they are free, but they expect from you to come back and buy more ink sooner (just don't go crazy). The durability is good, I mean if you are doing just photos of course that you will be running out of ink sooner than expected and this will happen to you with any other brand. Overall great product and I will definitely recommend to a friend.

Be wary of purchasing this ink "model" in advance - no HP printer products currently utilize this type of cartridge any longer. The ink worked great in my 2011 model HP All in One - but when the print head went, and I could buy a current new model for the price of a print head, I bought the new model - but all of those back ups I purchased were of little value. Luckily, Best Buy allowed me to return all of the unopened ink for in store credit - which I used to purchase the new printer!

Ink is same great quality as always. The customer service on the other hand could use a lot of work. This store has the rudest, nastiest, and disrespectful customer service agents I have ever encountered. I will be just ordering online from now on, instead of shopping in this store. what ever happened to real "customer service"? I don't appreciate having to wait until they are finished talking to each other and/or scrolling through FB before they can answer questions.

Have been purchasing this multipack for 2 years and find that the pricing for buying this multi item comes out cheaper than buying each color individually. It comes with paper to print cards or photos, and while that could be a great plus for some buyers, it is not something that I have a use for. I would like to see the 3 cartridges sold without the bonus paper for printing photos as an alternative for buyers like myself that don't need that.

Bought this thinking I didn't need to buy photo black since I already had regular black ink. After it didn't print in color, I searched online and found out the HP Photosmart 7525 will not print in color without photo black. That is absolutely ridiculous. Also, the color ink package comes with "free" photo paper, which I really don't need. Hopefully that isn't actually built into the price. These cartridges are already small and pricey.

This tri-pack is good value, price wise; but, with all ink I noticed that if you don't use it over time the ink dries up. Manufacturer guaranteed to create new sale by you either using up all the ink, or having it dry out on you :( We don't really have a choice in the matter....you want to print, you need ink.

I needed ink for an HP printer and this ink met my requirements totally. BUT I don't want or need the photo paper. This is the only way to get all colors in a pack and not pay individually. Once saw an HP rep in Best Buy and she said the paper was free, doesn't cost me anything, etc But someone has to pay for it. Recommend ink to a friend, but not with photo paper. But that's all that's available

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount and quantity of the photo paper. The pictures printed great, very clear. My only issues I had were once the cartridges were loaded the multiple test prints didn't come out great. I decided to ignore it and use it anyway. Didn't appear to make a difference in the picture quality. I only printed 4x6 prints though. The prints looked good and it saved me time being able to print from home.

    BRIGHT COLORS, GOOD QUALITY INK

There's not much that can be said about printer ink. Each printer needs a specific size and choices are limited. This ink works fine. However, with color, the colors could be either bright or drab. With this ink, colors appear bright and realistic. There's no smearing. The print is crisp and clear, which is also, in part, due to the quality of the printer and the paper.

    Ink Doesn't Last Long Enough

    Posted
    Beth

Ink is good, but doesn't last long enough. We rarely print in color so we shouldn't have to buy ink very often. Always seems to run out the night before a school project is due. Printer says we still have ink left but we don't and have to scramble to try to buy more. Also wanted to comment on all of the fake reviews. Do you really expect us to believe all the glowing reviews that came in on the same day are real?

have bought this product before. your recycling program rebate offer is great. But I did come in with more cartridges then allowed for new purchase and the expire date is 30 days on receipt. did not see that until I was home. ... Don't need that much ink so soon. I should have held them for another month or so. Customer service did not say that to me. I guess I should have read the receipt or asked. too bad for me.

The packaging of this ink set is excellent, clean to prep and clear to administer. The colors are true for a printer intended for desktop use and the quality is equally sufficient. My only dislike is the life of the black ink which is short. Having noted my displeasure, realize that this type of printer is not intended for hard, daily use. This ink system is easy and clean, and sufficient for my home use.

I have spent so much money buying the ink for this printer I cannot believe the amount. If I had been told the ink replacement was going to require several times a month, sometimes even more often than that, I would never have bought it. Take it from a fixed income senior my old HP Printer was a financial JOY. Love the pictures I print. As I am an artist the printer is most important for my work.

So happy to see the three colors I need for my printer are available in a bundled package as it cuts the cost somewhat and it's an added bonus to get a small package of photo paper and envelopes. The color cartridges do go down a little faster than the black, especially when copying a large colored picture. I only do so now if absolutely necessary! Still good quality for the money.
