Great Ink Cartridge At A Low Price

I bought an HP printer a few years ago and this was the recommended cartridge for the printer. I've been buying this ink cartridge since then and it's been working great for me. However, it all depends on what you print and how often you print. This was a great buy for me because of how I use this ink cartridge. I mainly print things out at work since we have a laser printer there; not to mention it's free and I don't have to pay for ink or for paper. So my HP home printer doesn't get used often. But whenever I do use it, this ink cartridge has worked just fine. I always print in black/grayscale and hardly in color. If I need to print in color I'll do it at work. One of these HP ink cartridges will last me six to seven months since I don't print a lot of stuff. When I do print things, it's mainly a few pages here and there. I've never had an issue with the ink drying up. Sometimes I won't print anything for a month or two, and then I'll need to print something one day. The cartridge works fine and prints the document without any issues. So for me, this is a great buy and I'm happy with it. Not to mention the price was less expensive here on Amazon versus the local retail stores like Staples or Office Depot.

    When I replace ink cartridges, which seem to cost almost as much as a new printer anymore, I want to be able to swap cartridges and have it just work as advertised. Buying brand name to match brand name makes the most sense to me, as I have tried off-brands and refilling, and have rarely had that work seamlessly. Plus, refilling takes time (my time is valuable to me) and can be messy. HP cartridges for me, have always worked right the first time, so for minimal effort, ease of replacement, stay with the name brand. If you have the time, want to take the risk, and gamble on saving money, try another method. If the other methods fail, though, you end up buying the brand name anyway.;

I purchased three of these HP genuine ink cartridges so far from BestBuy. First one after installed, within a year the ink dried out even though I printed very few pages out of it. The second one, upon installed, could not print clearly after running many printer head cleaning operations from the printer. Went through HP support page for techniques to get it print properly, no luck. I am on the third one now, so far it is ok, but if it doesn't last long, I might get rid of this HP printer for good, since the cartridges are so costly and unreliable.

      HP Team

      Hello,

I'm sorry that you received a cartridge that did not seem to last long enough. I can understand if you are upset.

If the cleaning routine does help the printing, there is a good possibility that the printer was turned off using a power strip or switch. That will clog up the cartridge.

It is very important to use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That allows the printer to ‘park’ in a position where the cartridges are protected from excessive drying. That drying can cause clogs in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper during printing.

I use this Ink cartridge in an HP wireless printer to print invoices for customers in the field as I operate a mobile business and generate invoices on the fly. The cartridge and printer sometimes has difficulties communicating with my iPad device and seems to mislead on the amount of ink left in the cartridge. Could be the iPad software. As with most ink cartridges these days it seems to run out rather quickly. I have tried the XL version of this cartridge but my printer software constantly tells me I'm low on ink when I'm not and that's not worth the savings. All in all this product is a must have for me and I will continue to purchase it until I upgrade my printer.

This ink seems to yield an average to above average amount of printing. I have learned to no longer say I have had this cartridge in for this amount of time, but to instead gauge how many prints I've printed out. I like the performance of the ink on paper and photo prints. Although the only issue I have is the sensor on these HP ink cartridge(s) and the sensor in the HP printer getting together to try to dupe me into thinking that my ink is so low that I need to replace. I ignore the notifications and the visuals of the ink balances and I play it by eyeball. If my prints still look great then I do not replace the ink.

The Standard, the Benchmark: before there was color, there was black and white! When preparing a basic printout of a paper or synopsis, better concentrate on Black Ink and white paper. Even recent research confirms, that when a research paper or book is read, comprehension, critical thought and analytical skills improve. The printed medium and the in-hand hard-copy remain as the bedrock and foundations of serious learning and R&D despite any hype to the contrary.

Just like my color ink cartridges, I had better luck using these HP replacement cartridges than some refilled ones by other manufactures in the past in other deskjets. In fairness, I could have made mistakes using or installing the others, but it's nice to just click n go with these with confidence. NOTE that in my research in the past, I found that the expiration dates on the packaging DO matter, and found the store shelf's inventory to not be rotated, so look through to make sure you get the freshest...and once installed, print something periodically, even a test page, or the jets can get clogged.

I normally purchase printer ink from wherever the price is right, which is usually BB, however this particular cartridge of ink is not working in my printer & due to me buying the cartridge months ago & just now installing it I can't return it. I won't be buying ink from BB anymore. There's some write ups on the web about cartridges with certain dates not working on older printers even if it's the correct number on cartridge like my # is HP-61 the old used cartridge has a date of 2016 & this new cartridge has 2018, the problem is you have to open the package to see this number

The Ink Only Last As Long For 2 Piles For Paper

The ink can only last just as long as you don' t print so much. Even if i wanted to print out labels, CD labels and the like, I would run out of run of ink pretty quick. I may have no choice, but having to buy new ink efficient printer in the future, but I cannot say the brand name here what I want to purchase. The best thing to do with these ink cartridges is try to be frugal with printing, and not getting too used to printing so much. Try to print as much as necessary like important documents and photos. Believe me these ink cartridges are not cheap and expensive.

The hp ink is a quality ink. The cartridge lasts quite a while, unlike the refilled cartridges that one may be tempted to buy in an attempt to save money. In my opinion, the refilled cartridges end up costing more in the long run, both in cash, (because they run out of ink quickly, creating the need to purchase another cartridge) and in the frustration of having them not function properly. The hp cartridges are reliable, and function properly without fail.

I've purchased and used these cartridge several times without any problems. Their lifespan is average--it doesn't run out too quickly but I have had to replace it every couple months after moderate printing. The price of this ink is fairly low relative to that of many black inks on the market, so if it works in your printer you stand to save a bit of money. Keep in mind that there a number of other versions of these products: single packs, twin packs, and extra large capacity single packs. Depending on their prices, these may be better deals than this combo pack.

It's ink. It was made for my printer and it fit my printer just like the it said it would. The ink is black just like it said it was and it prints when I tell it to. It doesn't talk back and it knows its place in the darkness of the ink cartridge cave deep inside my printer. If you need the #61 ink cartridge then this #61 ink cartridge won't disappoint. It will not fit printers that are not HP so don't even try. It would be futile. You would waste your ill gotten time and then you wouldn't have time to watch your precious cat videos online.

As someone who prints quite a bit, quite frequently for school, the major drawback comes in having to spend several hundred a semester for the ink I need. While a more affordable option when compared to the 61XL (priced at Best Buy the same as 2 regular 61 cartridges plus 2-3 dollars for good measure), these cartridges are only able to handle 40-50 pages before running out, less if the pages are scans with large swathes of black that don't contribute to the content. So while a necessity, it's not particularly something I'm very happy about paying for.

In comparison to the prices of other black ink cartridges, HP 61 is very affordable. Even at it's low price, quality has not been sacrificed. The print comes out clear and doesn't smudge. Prior to purchasing my HP printer, I had another brand of printer. Their ink cartridge cost twice as much as the HP 61. My only complaint is that if you do a considerable amount of printing like I do (I'm a business consultant who is also in law school), you may need to purchase two cartridges at a time or better yet, buy the double or combo pack.

HP Ink Cartridges work for me - Save Our Planet!

Great ink cartridge for basic printing. I'm still of the opinion that all ink cartridges should be inexpensive. But you can refill these with aftermarket ink. I use a syringe and ink refill kit purchased cheaply on Ebay for refills, with success. The cartridge will eventually fail after several refills, I'm assuming this is at the very least an intentional fail on purpose through some HP engineering. Nevertheless, HP ink cartridges are about as cheap as the cheapest, so you jam up if you take the effort to refill. Hey, save the planet!

This inkjet cartridge is perfect for printing all your greyscale works of art. I have personally used it replicate invoices, term papers, and an occasional recipe for cookies. I don't recommend using it for color intensive projects, unless you possess a great imagination, or feel the abstract movement is returning. Overall, I am quite pleased with the ink, and will purchase again, as that's how HP intends this to work and we are all slaves to ink running out...usually when we really really need it...

I love my HP 2514 printer because you don't have to buy the color inkjet every time you run out of black ink. All you need to buy is the black inkjet, but you do need to keep the color inkjet in, even if it is out of ink. Since most of the time what I print is black it would be a waste of money if I were to keep buying the color inkjet when all I need is black ink.

I bought one 61 ink cartridge and in 2 days I had to change again. I was in Best Buy for something else so bought another 61 black and color. That one went bad so I went to staples and bought 1 of each and they are fine. I just wanted to be sure it wasn't my printer. It wasn't. I Think the ink cartridges at Best Buy must have been old. I did not return the cartridges for money back because it wasn't convenient. I love Best Buy, but not for cartridges.

The ink cartridge works fine. But, since I rarely printout, it's frustrating to buy a $15 ink cartridge every other month. Should I go back to paying per-print at the local pharmacy copy machine(10 cents per print)? Hmmm. HP needs to lower their prices already. Is ink more expensive than gas now? I guess those octopus are hard to catch, huh? I guess the $15 is worth it for me not to have to go deep sea diving for ink. Where does this ink come from? Why is it so expensive?
