They came in separate pkgs 3 days apart. I will never order online for pickup or delivery. I couldnt pick it up because it was 6 days for them to have it ready. I may need to purchase my ink at staples from now on

The hp printer its great but the time life for the ink its short... I wish the price would be a bit less expensive...one way or the other thats how they get you....

I was sorry to hear that the cartridges do not work for very long. It is unfortunate that happened to you.
Ink usage usually determines how long each individual cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is warm and dry.
It is a good idea to shut the printer down between uses. However, it is important to always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridge is protected from excessive drying which leads to clogging
The seller is responsible for the quality of what is sent. Contact the seller if you find the cartridge itself is faulty and that is why it dried out so fast.

Printer rejects the cartridge as being the wrong one. Other one worked. Best Buy doesn't allow returns on opened cartridges, so I just spent $18.00 for nothing. Not a happy camper.

I am sorry to find that you had this problem. It is unfortunate that the store's policy is adding to your problem.
Perhaps the contacts on the cartridge got smudged or are damaged. You can carefully polish the copper contacts on the cartridge (and the matching ones inside the printer) with some kind of lint-free material to get off fingerprints or dust.
