    It's Ink

I have always used HP Ink in my HP Printers and I have never had a problem with the ink. The HP printers crap out every now and then but the ink has always been good. It has always stuck to the paper and it is nicely visible. Black is seriously black and dark and the cyan/magenta/yellow is strikingly vibrant and full of color. It definitely does the job! Don't be fooled though, this ink is expensive and it probably doesn't last as long as they say it's good for (I don't know for sure, I've never counted the number of pages I've printed). And I've never used it to print photos; there are much cheaper ways to do that. The end result is I guess you get what you pay for, or less. It would be nice if the HP Ink lasted longer or was less expensive, but it is what it is.

I bought an hp 3830 all in one. Text printing ok but any attempt at picture or photo print produced evenly spaced horizontal lines. 2 hrs tech support and used up ink cartriges. They wanted my credit card to send replacement"in case I don't send the broken one back" they said they would include a ship label. I told them I'm disabled and the shipping must pick up at my home. I refused to give credit card. The one they sent was used"refurbished". Had same issue(probably why it was returned, they just did not fix it). The return label is not usable(probably why they wanted credit card-they could charge me for two broken printers instead of replacing with a good one) it requires me to chase down a fedex truck- they will not pick it up. Their suggestion: buy a more expensive hp product. My answer: not on your life. I will never buy another hp product again. This has truly been hel* and I have only told part of what I've been through.

    Great cartridge for HP printer

I recently purchased a new HP printer so I needed to buy a different numbered cartridge to match the printer that I had purchased. The packaging for the HP 63 includes two cartridges: a black cartridge and a cartridge for color. With the two cartridges in one packaging, it is a much better deal than having to buy one cartridge for black and and a separate cartridge for the color as I had previously needed to purchase. In a way i am saving a little bit of money by purchasing only one package instead of having to purchase two packages. I only have purchased HP printers and I can assure you that the cartridges last a pretty long time if you do not perform a lot of printing.

After bad experiences with printers and uncertainty about whether what I wanted to print WOULD print, I was dubious. I need not have been. This printer is such an asset and so reliable. Also easy to use. I wish I'd purchased this type in the first place. I am very pleased and no longer get anticipatory anxiety attacks each time I push 'print'--thinking what I wanted to print wouldn't. This unit does. YAY.

How on earth does this happen? I purchased ink cartridges and when I loaded them, I got a message on my computer that they were previously used! I checked the ink levels on the printer itself and found they were a little more than half full. Really annoyed that I had to make another trip to Best Buy to return them and get another set. Photo attached of the magenta level.

HP ink is great. Unfortunately, I allowed a salesperson to talk me into an HP 4520 printer, which works fine but requires this particular ink cartridge, which seems to need replacing every time I turn around. I like HP ink and loved my old printer. I just think that the great deal I got on my new printer was nullified by the cost of the ink and the frequency with which I have to replace it....and I'm not even using it for anything other than personal stuff.

If you have been using printers, it's like any other ink cartridge you put into a printer. I bought this one for my HP Office Jet 3830 Print Fax Scan Copy Web. Turns out that if you buy this model printer, it comes HP INstant Ink Ready, which means if you have a strong wifi connection, or a lot of patience, you do not need this ink cartridge. But it's a great idea to have it on standby in case your wifi croaks out, or you go over your monthly plan for pages printed you can switch out the instant ink cartridge for this one.

HP ink is expensive... and this tri-color ink does NOT yield as many pages as it says. I print a lot of photos and each cartridge prints approximately 12 pictures before saying "low on ink".. then I can print maybe 3 more, however the colors are all changed in the pic. So 12 is the average of decent printed pics. But its what HP makes for this printer, so I guess I'll deal with it. Glad I found it on sale at BB

Have been using HP ink for many years. decided to order online instead of buying in the store like I usually do. saved a couple dollars buy ordering it online. the ink packs work fine, just as if I would of bought them otherwise. I do a lot of printing so I use a lot of ink. will be purchasing more, have had no issues with the packs. I will say ink never lasts very long and is very expensive, but is cheaper to purchase here and have to have it to print. good product.

I recommend purchasing printer ink cartridges from Best Buy; the ink is high quality and you get the amount of printed pages that it promises. I used to purchase my printer ink from Amazon. I would always purchase the remanufactured cartridges, and I always had problems; the cartridges would malfunction, and give blotchy printed pages. Save yourself the headache (and money) and just purchase from Best Buy.

While after-market ink or OEM-labeled options are often a bit less expensive, some newer HP inkjet printers have a feature that checks for original HP ink when the cartridges are replaced. For people with home-offices who do substantial printing on a regular basis, the larger capacity cartridge would probably be better. For occasional use, this standard-sized cartridge is perfect.

Good Print Quality I Wish Lasted Longer

I traded a long-lasting ancient HP Printer for new one without regret. Print quality is very good; as is ease of operation.I appreciate having "draft-"ink printing option to save ink. Also, it's great to find a low-priced, no-fuss printer using ONLY two cartridges still available. My sole qualm is I that the cartridges don't last longer. A "writer" uses up ink too quickly to mention! Next time I will be tempted to test HP's longer-lasting and more expensive alternative cartridges.

My husband has been trying to print out an e-book and it doesn't seem like he's getting the number of pages out of the ink that HP claims he should be getting. He'll keep track with this ink cartridge to see how many pages he gets out of it. His "free" e-book is turning out to be quite expensive given the cost of ink. The quality of the ink is good, I'm just not sure the output is accurate.

I have not used the specific ink I got from Best Buy yet, on account of printer issues from the new printer I got from Best Buy. But I have used HP ink before on past printers, Only once have I ever had a bad experience, with HP ink that I got from Walmart, it may have been old and I had to throw it out. Otherwise chances are you will have a good experience.

Black ink cartridge was defective/old, didn't work

The black ink cartridge in this double pack was either old or defective. Couldn't get it to work in the printer. The color cartridge was fine, worked as it should. I called HP Support & he walked me thru processes to fix it. It wouldn't work, he told me I had to buy a new black ink cartridge. I did, & the Best Buy guy told me once the ink package is opened, I couldn't return it. So, I purchased a new XL black ink cartridge.

I have never had an ink cartridge that only lasts for a few days... I do a lot of printing but not nearly enough for these things to not last longer than a week. Ive already talked to HP and gone through all of thr printer settings with them and they insist I must just be printing more than I say. Well... no, the ink cartridge is just junk.

      Hi Shay,

It concerns me that the cartridge doesn't last longer for you. Unless you are printing a lot of high-density printouts, it should last much longer for you!

Provided that the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints (such as photos and graphs) will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.

That said, I have a few tips that might help lower your ink usage:
      - You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets the printer ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Instant Ink might be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans. They're based on how many pages you print monthly, which can save you money. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com

When it seems that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you are always free to contact the seller for a replacement.

If none of those tips work, and if a defective genuine HP cartridge is not replaced by the seller (and is still within the warranty end dates on the cartridge) you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP

I have used HP ink cartridges for many years on different printers and have been completely satisfied with the quality. Sometimes I get an alert to change the cartridge when there is still ink available for many more sheets to print. I have tried to use other after-market ink cartridges and have come away with a less expensive alternative, but never satisfied with the quality. I'm back with HP !

It is printer ink. 4 packets of this costs me as much as the printer did (we don’t buy printers, be buy ink dispensing machines). As far as I know, I can only use this ink in my printer, so there isn’t much point of a review. When I put it in my printer, I was able to print stuff, so I guess it works :-)

Genuine HP 63 ink is very expensive to use. These two replacement cartridges cost about half of what I paid for the printer! While the quality is good, I question the rating of 190 pages given for the black cartridge. Maybe if you printed everything in Draft quality you might get that, but I came nowhere near that before I started getting low ink level notifications.
