    cartridge died shortly after installation. Printer will not print anything with blue in it, I've taken it out of the printer, shook it a little and reinstalled. Total waste of money and you know these are not cheap

      Hi,

      I am sorry that you had this problem. However, low ink in this type of cartridge does not cause poor print quality. It is probable that the printhead inside the printer is clogged and not allowing ink through to the paper very well. There is a cleaning routine available from the printer's menu used to clear out the clogs.

      To prevent this type of problem always use the power button on the printer itself to turn your printer off. That gives it time to position the cartridge so it is protected from excessive drying, which leads to clogs.
