I've only purchased this printer a few days ago, and it has been issue after issue. I just want to print!!! Why is that so hard?? Firstly, it doesn't come with instructions. You're advised to go to the HP app to set up your printer. Whatever, that's fine. I still have no idea what most of the buttons on my printer mean. Yes, I can look it up, but why wouldn't HP at least provide some sort of manual? Setting up took way too long. Not sure if everyone shares this experience, and it's very possible it may have been a user error. I will humbly admit fault for that. However, connecting to wifi was an absolute pain in my butt, and I STILL don't know why it took a half-hour for the printer to print anything from my queue when there were no issues. I used the troubleshooter, and it said it was fine. I was connected to wifi the whole time. So that printing time makes no sense. Also, just had a little fiasco with a paper jam. I fixed it, but my computer said there was still an issue. I turned it off and back on as HP advises. Then it said it wasn't connected to wifi. I still don't know how the printer got back on the wifi. Then it wouldn't stop telling me my printer door was open (had to open because of the paper jam). And after ANOTHER half hour, it printed my bs. It's just a printer. I become easily annoyed by minor inconveniences, but someone else could easily deal with this without issues. That's your judgment call to make.

    A nightmare

I titled this A Nightmare because that is what it was to hook it up. It should have been easier, but it wasn't. I hooked this up, and the wifi wouldn't link up. Finally got that to connect, and the paper then wouldn't feed. Had to get on the phone with HP tech support, which was another nightmare, and after 2.5 hours found that the paper feeder wasn't working. HP sent me out another printer had to send me out another printer. Once I got the new printer hooked up, it still wouldn't print. Had to get on the phone once again with HP tech support. He couldn't get the printer to connect to wifi even though it said it was connected. This was another over 2 hour phone call. I was instructed that I would need to purchase a USB cable to connect it. After making this purchase, it still wouldn't print. Had to call HP tech support yet again. This tie oddly enough the tech was able to finally get it to print using the wireless connection. I do need to use the USB if I printer from my work computer. The tech called me the next day to make sure I didn't have anymore issues. Since I hadn't hooked up the work laptop to the printer yet, he called me back later than evening, and I was able to print from my home laptop, and my work laptop. I do hope that this was an isolated incident because I really hope that no one else has to go through all I went through to get it working. Once it was working properly it prints out well, and also makes copies well. I've yet to try the scan feature, but it is a good printer for the price now that it works.

It is okay. I bought it on a big sale, for $27, and would not pay more than that. I have to unplug it before printing each time, or else it doesn't seem to connect to my devices. I've basically given up on printing from my computer and mostly use my phone. For the cheap price I bought it at, it does what I need it to do. If you expect to use your printer often, invest in a better one!!

The printer has decent quality and okay ink life. However, it is a total pain to connect to. It doesn't even have a USB port to plug directly into it. My wife likes it because it is easy for her to use with her phone, however when I try to print off of a PC, it is a total pain.

The printer itself prints great, looks good and was a relatively inexpensive. I just had a difficult time installing the printer to my laptop. Walked away from it and after several days went back and started the process all over again. Still took too long but got the job done.

Bought this on sale and its worked perfectly. I like the hp app. You can monitor your ink status and do multiple functions from the app. I opted in for instant ink and that also has been great. I also like that it is a smaller printer and doesnt take up much space.

It is a good product easy to use and flexible in moving it around with out hurdle. But, wifi setup is bit painful and it also changed the router settings. It requires an app to be installed in a machine. Overall a wonderful product with an affordable price. Ink cost may add up quickly if careless printing.

I like the compactness of the printer. takes up little room. Unfortunately I had to call Geek Squad to get it hooked up. I need to use a cord connected to the computer for it to work. So much for wireless. Other than that it has been working great.

Purchased for (older) family member. Set up was generally easy. Printer is well-made and great deal for the price and options, but may be a little challenging for someone not familiar with how to set up and operate, esp with using app. Overall, i'm a fan of HP products and think this is another worthy product in the line for the occasional home office / user.

Really like this printer for it’s easy install, wireless printing capability and fairly affordable ink cartridges. The print quality is also pretty good for an inkjet. It’s quiet, efficient and does most everything I need it to do. I would get it again.

I think most HP products are pretty good overall and this is one of them. For the price I paid, you can't really beat it. I bought another HP not too long ago and paid $80 for it and it doesn't really do any more than this one that I paid $25 for. Both are good deals and HP stands by their products. The other one broke after like 3 uses and less than a month, and when I contacted HP, they sent out a replacement which I got in like 3-4 days, and all I did was put my old one in the box, and contact FedEx to pick it up. I've tried other brands, and I think HP is the best and if you use a lot of ink (or even a little) the new Instant Ink program is something you can't beat. For a low monthly fee, you can print out however many pages you want, and they will ship you ink for free when it gets low. It's been a while since I bought ink and I remember it being like $30+ for each ink cartridge and now I pay like $2 a month instead.

Great printer for value! You have to set it up using the HP smart app which is very simple unless your not good with technology. Other then that it’s works great and the printing quality is exceptional. Also you do have to manually get the paper and feed it back into the printer if your going to print on both sides. I know there are printers that do this automatically but this printer is not one of them. I recommend getting the HP instant ink subscription since they just send you the ink and all you need to buy is paper. They have different tiers based on how much you print and you can change or cancel the plan as many times as you want. I haven’t paid for ink in the last 5 years!

Had difficulty with the set up. Wasn't aware it required USB cable. Following the directions was bit confusing but got someone to help me with that then finally got it working. Then after a week or so went to print something e-bay and got a message off line. I couldn't even get it to print a test page. So after watching many instructional videos for hp2700 series and disconnecting the printer and starting over again got it working but kept getting a message that there was a document waiting which was preventing me from printing something else. So after many trials and errors finally got things straightened out. It was quite frustrating.

It’s a good printer for basic things. Occasionally, it disconnects from the wifi, which can be hassle, but I usually just restart it and it’s good to go. I love the HP instant ink for the ease of use and delivery, so I never worry about ink. Overall a great purchase!

Got this for dirt cheap on Black Friday, if it wasn’t for that this thing would have been returned on principle alone. Don’t get me wrong this is a decent little printer once you get it going. Unfortunately the installation process results is a horrible user experience, what should have been minutes took about an hour. For some dumb reason HP makes you use an app to install this thing. You cannot even get drivers on their website to bypass the app. I wanted to hook this up to work wirelessly from across the room, sure it sounds easy in theory but for some unknown reason the app would just not get it done. I ended up having to connect the printer to my pc via usb and then configure the wireless connection, thank goodness I had the appropriate usb cable or it would have been another trip to the store. It also went through a phase where it kept saying it was offline, hard rebooting it would eventually fix it but that is not an ideal solution whenever you want to print something. After Googling the problem I can up with some tweaks to hopefully fix that but time will tell. Good thing I’m handy with computers, I feel sorry for those that have a hard time with computers and get messed over by these issues. The internal web interface is also slow and buggy at times, but what else do you expect from a cheap printer. Bottom line: decent printer once you can use it. I appreciate HP trying to make a simple installation process but it just didn’t work here, please just supply drivers as an alternative for crying out loud.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has been so difficult to set up and use. It’s easy to understand why issues related to setup, connectivity and software performance would quickly become exasperating, so I’ll point you toward a resource and some information I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the difficulties you describe, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Price ($25) was nothing short of fantastic. The wireless installation was difficult and the instructions were vague on a couple of key points. The HP website was of no help at all. I tried several times and wasted 17 pages (and ink). The instructions were so vague that I had to search for online assistance which I found in the form of webpage and video. After using the online solutions I found I was able to get my printer running. The printer works as it should with no problems to date.
