Solid budget printer. Setup was super easy with the HP app — printing from my phone in minutes. Good quality for documents and light color prints. Not super fast, but works great for home use. Easy wireless setup and compact size make it convenient for small spaces. Print quality is decent, and the 6 months of Instant Ink with HP+ is a nice bonus. On the downside, it doesn’t have an auto document feeder, the paper tray is small, and it’s not built for high-volume jobs. If you just need a reliable printer for everyday stuff, this one gets the job done

The HP DeskJet 2734e is a decent value for a bare bones, all-in-one unit. It doesn't take up much desk space and has somewhat attractive styling. There's no paper tray so it feeds from the back. It was rather a pain to set up via Windows 10, though I could have installed the HP app on mobile and done it that way. Still, it took longer than I liked to get everything running smoothly. Once all that was out of the way, however, it has been solid. I would say the 2734e is ideal for someone budget-minded who is looking for the utility of an all-in-one, wants to option to print in color, but doesn't need super high quality, and may only use it occasionally. It does everything I need it to but does not shine in any one area. Print times aren't super speedy and print and scan quality are just okay. The LED readout is a joke. Since this will be only getting occasional use, I didn't go with an HP Instant Ink plan, but that may be a good option if you plan to print in larger quantities. This printer was purchased based on price. I could obviously get something better if I paid more, but it is on par with what I expected, perhaps even a little better. I can't yet speak to durability or the long-term cost of ownership.

HP Smart takes away a star from a decent printer!

TLDR: The printer is great especially for the price. It doesn't do anything exceptionally bad, or good. But I think it's a very decent printer for home office work and very good for school. The fact it can print from a mobile device also makes it more handy especially for those that use iPads to do work/school. The biggest grip I have is the fact HP pushes for HP Smart. I didn't feel comfortable giving HP my information to set up an account to use basic functions of the printer. Luckily there's a work around for this, but still. If you don't go looking for it, you may feel like your only option is to setup an account. I'm old school I guess, I just want it on my network, and I point my devices to it and print. I don't need anything cloud related for a printer that's in the same house as my devices. Printer itself is fine, it gets the basics down pretty good. I set up the printer using HP Easy Start instead of HP Smart. Even with HP Easy Start, it pushes for HP Smart. You can't simply press next next next then finish otherwise you'll end up with HP Smart. Scratch that, even after the install of HP Easy Start, I still somehow ended up with HP Smart on Windows even by declining it from the installer. I think there's some partnership going on with Windows and it automatically just added it. I simply uninstalled it and all was fine. Once you're connected online, then all my devices connected to the same network was able to find it no problem. Printing was colorful and seems detailed enough for reports or just color stuff. Black and white images were clear and text seemed clear as well. Not overly saturated. This printer may not be good enough for printing photos, but if you were in a pinch it probably would work. I didn't test this feature out as I didn't have photo paper on hand and didn't have the need to go out and buy some. The feel of the printer was kind of cheap, but I wasn't perturbed by this. Most of the flimsy feeling parts were parts I wouldn't touch very often and let's be real here, the printer is just gonna sit there on a shelf. It's not like it needed quality plastics. I'm probably rarely gonna interact with it other than adding paper, changing ink and getting my prints. Scanning may be a thing for me, but unlikely. Speaking of ink, I have some concerns about how many pages it can actually print. This is the first printer I've ever had with the color ink being in one cartridge vs individual. Like if I happen to print a lot of yellow images, and yellow is out, does that mean I need to get an entirely new cartridge? Probably, and I don't like that. I would normally take a star away from that, but I don't know if it's an issue or not at this point in my time with it. Overall, I like it. I wish it had a paper tray instead of a gravity feeder, but I think at that point the price would increase too much for a decent entry level printer.

This is fantastic printer for any small basic printing household. Prints came out colorful and clean, though it does actually print on the slower side. The setup was super simple, using the app it provides a very easy to follow step-by-step guide to setting up the printer. The app itself is also super useful, being able to print photos straight from your phone! Wi-fi set up was super simple as well. HP has also implemented an interesting monthly subscription service for your ink needs which I am actually impressed by. You received 9 months of free ink and the ink cartridges are shipped to you automictically whenever you run low on ink, which is also automictically detected. For a small printing house like mine, their cheapest plan, which is only a $1 a month, is more than enough for me. Each plan allows you to print a certain amount of pages per month and also allows for rollover pages for the months you don't use your allotted amount. Personally, I believe this system allows people to save a lot of money on buying ink!

The HP Deskjet 2734e printer is a compact device that has the necessary options to work from home, whether printing, scanning, copying or even sending mobile fax. In the box comes the printer with its power cord, two cartridges, one black ink and one color ink cartridge and a quick start guide, all nicely packaged. It requires the HP smart application to configure the printer, the app will guide you step by step in the configuration until the printer is ready to start printing. This app can be used to scan, copy, print or send a fax. It is possible to activate a 9-month subscription to Instan Ink that allows you to receive ink cartridges every time the ink is about to run out, so the printer never runs out of ink or at least as long as the subscription is active. You can print from virtually any device. In my case that I have a device with iOS you can print any document without the need to use the HP smart app, for more specific functions it is necessary to use the app. The quality of the prints is very good, whether printing in color or black and white. The prints take little time but it is not so fast, but considering that it is a compact and economical printer, it does quite well. In conclusion I can say that this printer is very easy to install and start using, you can print, scan, copy and fax everything from your phone, the quality of the prints is great and one of the things that I think is important to highlight is the price. I have had the opportunity to try other HP printers and considering how well this printer works and the features it has, it certainly seems to me one of the best options. Highly recommended.
