Quick installation and Great print quality for such a portable printer. Able to easily add new printer to my already existing Instant Ink subscription

I have used HP before and liked it so I bought another one. HP did not disappoint. My printer is just the right size and works very well. It was also easy to set up.

I’ve been using the HP DeskJet 2827e for a few weeks now, and overall it’s a very capable budget all-in-one printer. Setup was straightforward — it connected quickly to my Wi-Fi network and paired easily with my phone via the HP Smart app. Once up and running, I was able to print, scan, and copy without much hassle, which is exactly what I needed for everyday home use.
Print quality is solid for the price. Text looks sharp and color prints are decent for basic documents, photos for school projects, or casual crafts. The compact design fits nicely on my desk without taking up much space, which is great if you don’t have a lot of room.
The 3-month Instant Ink trial is a nice bonus that gives you some breathing room before you worry about ink costs, and the printer works reliably for light to moderate printing.
Why I gave it 4 stars:
• Ink costs after the trial can add up, and it strongly prefers HP cartridges, which may limit cheaper options down the road.
• It doesn’t have automatic two-sided printing, meaning you need to flip pages manually.
• Some users find the HP Smart app essential but slightly clunky for advanced setup tasks.
Bottom line: A great little printer for light home or student use — easy to set up, reliable, and good print quality at a budget price. Just be aware of ongoing ink costs once the trial ends.

Good print quality, great price. A little slow, but that's expected considering the cost. I do miss the double-sided printing feature of my old printer. I spent nearly two hours on the phone with an HP tech to get it working, but he problem was with my laptop, not the printer. I paid for it but the tech did clear up the problems.

I haven't used the printer much, but so far, it prints well. Setup went fairly well. Seems like when I try to print multiple pages from different documents, if I don't wait until one is done printing, something goes awry and the previous page prints part of the page or the new page doesn't get into the queue. I have not had time to troubleshoot this issue yet. I am used to loading many items in the queue at once and they print as they come up in the queue. Scanner works well from the paper feed or glass. I joined the HP ink program, as I do not print much, but brand name ink is so expensive. The monthly price is reasonable and waiting until my trial period is over to assess my monthly needs.

I ignored the many negative reviews and got this insanely low-priced HP DeskJet 2827e printer. I'm still in a state of shock about how great this printer is! The bottom line is that it works great and is relatively easy to set up. If you're looking to replace or upgrade an existing defective or outdated printer, simply disconnect the connectors from the old unit and connect them to the new 2827e. Absolutely no issues so far (only a few weeks since purchase)! I have been running over Wi-Fi with no problems at all! Great unit! My IT guy can't believe I got this thing so cheap!!! Just so you know, I suck at computer stuff, if that helps you decide about this thing... oh, and the 3-month free ink is the icing on the cake!!!

I bought a printer from Best by two years ago and mechanical issue and I was passed my return time. I had to throw it out. Lost my money. So I put a spending limit on buying a printer and I saw this one and I saw the good reviews and I bought it and I love it. It takes a little while to get it set up, but once it’s set up, it works great. It’s a Wi-Fi. So I have to connect the printer to the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to my laptop. I hooked it up to my MacBook Pro and then I come into an issue. How do I print? Command plus P. I was going to the library to print, but sometimes the library is closed and then the gas in the mileage and the time. I was tired of doing that, this printer was within my spending limit. It looks nice in my office also. So far, I’m very happy with it. But I think it’ll be good.

Pros: Inexpensive. (Was $50, but got it for $40 during 'Black Friday Sale.) HP brand ink is stocked by most stores. Wireless. Has a separate 'Black' Vs. 'Color' print button. Came with a 2 yrs. warranty, not 1 yr. Came with 4 months of Instant Ink subscription. Cancel anytime.
Cons: In spite of HP claiming that there's a 'swing out' extension for the output tray, there isn't. So, your printed material falls on the floor. Only uses HP ink. Included starter ink cartridge didn't last long. Had to wait a few days for Instant Ink to arrive by mail. (It came from the East Coast.) To scan, must download their HP Smart App. (This was not explained in their Ref Guide.) Recommend opt out of HP Universal Print / A.I. because it slows down the printing process.

Despite the useless instructions the printer works great out of the box. I didn't have to align the print heads or fuss with it to be recognized once I got it connected to my wifi network.
Heads up though, the instructions are going to tell you to download something called HP 123. That does not exist. There are two apps from HP one called Smart Printer and the other is just HP. You need to download the one called HP to connect the printer to your wifi and not the app called Smart Printer. I don't think you even need the Smart Printer app at all.
