      Hi,

I'm really sorry to hear that the WiFi connection to your printer has been so difficult, especially since it is hindering your subscribing to Instant Ink. Many customers love that program.

It wasn't clear to me what the problem was, but you can try the troubleshooting directions in these documents:

Best feature is the light weight and compact size. More problematic is it doesn't have a screen that guides you with steps and instructions. It has a few symbols that are not clearly identified so you have to spend much more time reading the instructions to figure out how to use it. Also frustrating is the paper doesn't feed on its own when trying to scan. Better to go with a little larger model with a screen that is easier to use and you will save a lot of time overall. Already bought a new one.

It's perfect for the occasional print job. I don't like that it'll make you print instructions.

I purchased this printer on the recommendation of the associate in the department when I went into the store, and I have since gone back and purchased a different printer. The scanner functions through a feeder that doesn't have guides to feed the documents in straight, so more often than not, the scans were at odd angles and I had to retry. The print quality itself was also disappointing - the lines weren't even straight on regular text, it was skewing the page content on one side.

Great device, easy and light usage. Found a bit trouble with the manual, but overall it was self explanatory as for the setup. Prints good and reliable. printing does take a few seconds.

This printer is so confusing for me to figure out because it came with the bare minimum instructions. I wish this thing came with detailed instructions for dummies because I have only printed out one page by accident and I still don't know how I did it. Those flashing lights don't help me at all. you have to be tech savvy to operate this thing.

Finding the features on the small screen is not so easy, let alone what features the printer has as there is no owners manual. The speed is very slow but prints well. It is a great printer for small office as it does not take up a lot of space. Loading paper is easy with stand up tray in rear.

This was easy to set up and works very well. However the instruction for setting up the network were only easy because I know what to look for. Someone with little experience would be completely lost. I was also disappointed that all the function like print photographs were not in the User's Guide. Looking them online and having to print them out is time consuming.

After purchasing, I hurried home to set it up with excitement. After plugging it into my iMac, and downloaded the software everything went really smooth, however, activating it to Direct was an issue. I struggled for a while to get it working, until I actually read the instructions that conveniently printed when the setup was complete. The manual isn't the best that comes with it, but that could be me just being a man and not reading the entire thing. I recommend reading the first paper that prints out to get started with wireless and direct printing.

This printer works well for the price. The set up a little frustrating because you have to print the instructions first and they were a little confusing. But it didn't take any more than 45 minutes to an hour. It works well although it's a little slow. But again for the price, that's fine. The hard ware is nice. Looks great on my desk.

Received as gift from spouse. Price was right, and loved the small footprint of it, but was surprised at the clumsy design of it. No flatbed area; documents to copy or scan get inserted into front of printer top. The paper for output gets fed into the back of the printer top. The paper guides/feed area are clumsy and it often takes multiple attempts to get papers positioned right to operate. Control panel buttons and indicators were not intuitive. Burned through ink very quickly.

Very difficult to install. Very confusing instillation instructions. Too many steps for something that should be very simple. I was never able to install the instant replaceable ink feature I purchased. The wifi wireless feature I still can't get to work. Connecting with a cable is my only choice. Guess this will just have to do. Just disappointing.

The price was right (69 dollars on sale), and the ink plan appealed to me. I had problems with the "easy" connect instructions as well as getting the wireless printer to work with my chromebook. Stuck, I used a USB to link the new printer to the chrome book. To get the HP ink plan going, a wonderful HP instant ink representative, spent over an hour on the phone with me, guiding me through the bowels of wireless IP underworld to finally get to Eureka! Cloud connection. This online rep said that this wireless issue is a common problem for chromebook users. In addition, the printing is slower than I expected. But I'll keep it.

    Printer won't Connect to Network

I have literally spent hours trying to link this printer to my computer. It's worked a total of 2 times but regularly disconnects from the network and/or becomes unfindable by my computer. I cannot reinstall it every time I need to print a document, nor can my computer regularly find it when I have tried to reinstall it. The idea was to have a printer I could take from home office to classroom with ease. It's been nothing of the sort. I'm about ready to have an Office Space moment and smash it in the parking lot. Not only these things but it seems impossible to find a way to connect to a human being at HP. The online instructions have not been any help and I cannot connect to a real person who might be able to troubleshoot this thing. This is a DO NOT BUY on my list.

      Hi,

I'm terribly sorry to hear that the printer isn't maintaining a steady wireless connection. I can certainly imagine how inconvenient this must be! Let's see if I can remedy the issue.

Bought this to support dog trials. Very small and light for transporting to all kinds of locations and performs all the needed functions including scanning. Print quality is fine. Print is slow but serves the purpose for low volume printing. Set up was not easy - only way that I found that worked reliably was online option. I use USB connected setup which works well. If the printer is connected for a longer period of time without active use, it seems to "go offline". I just disconnect/reconnect USB and it seems to wake up and go. Played with WiFi direct connect a bit but couldn't get that to function following written instructions. Didn't need that function so didn't spend time working on it. Have ink replacement plan availalbe that appears to be very cost effective.

Bought this because my other hp printer I had for a year and half just died on us with having only been lightly used. Maybe replaced the ink twice and it crapped out. Bought this on 3/8/17 got home and tried installing it for 2.5 hours and I'm pretty tech savvy at that to. Instructions were horrible and completely vague. Not only that I installed the ink cartridge after having watched a hp video, well attempted to at least. Opened the tray and the carriage never moved at all I tried all the trouble shooting, unplugged, reinstalled ink, downloaded their support app, still giving the same error that there's a jam when it's never been used once. Couldn't even get the alignment page or test page done. Did some research and found out this is a issue with this printer. Do not buy this thing. It's a waste of time and money.
