So far so good. I've had this computer since the first few weeks of 2021 and it has been working super amazing for my professional needs, but there are some things I more or less wish that companies would start paying attention to.
So here's a few pros and cons:
Pros:
*Very quick to upload and no lag!
*Extremely light weight
*Screen size very nice
*color vivid
*fairly easy to use
Cons:
*Sound isn't quite loud enough-especially when using Zoom (not sure if the sound card installed is just not that great? or the speakers aren't that great?)
*The camera on this computer for Zoom isn't very high quality. In comparison to peers, this one gets the job done, but it should be better, especially since it's relatively a new version.
*There's a weird glitch when I right click to copy/paste and I can't see my choices to choose copy/paste but the text box blends into a light background. (that may be my fault for not knowing how to correct this--but I've never seen this issue on any laptop I've owned)
*The same old problem: I can't rest my palm too much because it may touch the pad and move my cursor to another spot or worse, highlight and then as I continue typing it deletes what I've typed.
*the charger is bulky. You figure it's 2021 and the charger wouldn't be even more odd looking than previous laptops, but this one is heavy/bulky.
*It's a matter of being used to certain things, but a number pad would've been nice....again, it's not that big of a deal, so it's a matter of taste.
All in all, it's not bad. perhaps a little more expensive than it should be, but all-in-all, not bad

I've bought a lot of laptops this/last year and returned them for not striking the right balance of power, cost, portability and quality. Asus G14= good price, mediocre screen and horrible fingerprint reader. Razer Blade Advanced OLED= great screen, build quality and scary price.
The Envy 15 on the other hand has the same screen as the Razer, 90% of the build quality, excellent fingerprint reader for $1K less. It is fairly quiet under load and stays surprisingly cool while gaming and video encoding. Good job HP. As far as battery life goes, don't get excited. With power comes sacrifice. Heavy loads you'll get around 2 hours and light tasks I'm getting 5-6 hours.
It's safe to say I found a keeper and a shout-out to Best Buys customer service for putting up with me.

I love this laptop. It's very fast and does everything I need it to do. Fast start-up, fast shut down, and I even think it makes my garbage internet run faster. I bought this laptop because I needed something better than my current laptop that runs on Windows 7. That's how long I hold on to things. I've started taking design classes and my old laptop doesn't have the power. This one most definitely does. I was only looking for the bare minimum since computers can be expensive and expected this one to be just good enough, but I think it's better than good enough.

I purchased this HP Envy laptop to replace my trusty 5 1/2 year old HP Envy. So far, so good. It has a kinda classy, understated design, and was a breeze to setup. Although I haven't done any intensive tasks on it yet, what I have seen has led me to believe this thing is going to have no problem with anything creatives throw at it. I'm not a gamer at all, so I can't speak to the those possibilities. Looking forward to hanging on to this Envy for 5+ years.

Awesome laptop. Sleek, beautiful and premium design. HP really hit it on this laptop. I'm impressed with this laptop in all the work that I need done. Photoshop runs crisp and clean. Premiere is snappy and I haven't found a hiccup yet. This has basically replaced my desktop.. There's to many positives about this laptop. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE.
Only negative is I just wish HP would get rid of the microSD and just give it a full sized SD card slot instead. If the next 2021 HP ENVY with 4k oled comes out this year with a full size SD card slot I'd upgrade in an instant.

The HP Envy 15.6 is a great modern model laptop. However the issue that we had with the first one purchased at the end of December 2020 was that the sound on the system was not stable, right out of the box The Geek Squad at Best Buy could not fix it. Software upgrades did nothing to improve the situation, so a new one had to be procured. For and item that is not cheap and cost the money that it does, would expect it to be in good operating order. It was suggested there was a problem with the sound card or it was not installed correctly. The new replacement unit seems to be operating OK, but we shall see what happens.

Laptop is what I wanted. My Wife loves it. It was easy to set up for the most part. Some of the additional software purchased was a bit of a challenge to download but we got it

This Laptop is pathetic. I don't even want to waste my time typing about it it's countless shortcomings. Just don't buy, you can get an MSI that blows it out of the water for half the price and if you need a touchscreen the Razerblade comes with one for slightly cheaper. The GPU performance and cooling are the biggest disappointment out of any purchase I have ever made for literally anything. The display lighting is super gltichy and the keys stop working constantly. And if you think HP customer service will help you, you're better off wishing for you laptop to fix itself because all they will tell you is "sorry we don't have the exerpertise to fix this issue" then you get disconnected. STAY AWAY FROM HP ENVY AND HP IN GENERAL

The product is overall quiet good. The battery life is less than expected due to the 4k oled screen. I found the grainy screen to be very annoying, HP should have gone with a better display panel. Also I prefer non- glossy screens due to less reflection.
USB c charging is missing at this price point. Laptop runs cool thanks to vapor chamber.

I've had this laptop all of two days and it's already having issues. The trackpad worked itself loose and sloppy so it rattles around while using the pad. The computer has also been restarting randomly a couple times per day. I really like this computer but the quality issues are unacceptable for a brand new near 2k computer. I've been running CAD software on it and video calling and it runs very well. The build feels solid and I can type on it faster than my previous computers. The fans run constantly even just browsing but it's not super loud, however noticeable. I haven't heard them kick into high yet besides for a brief second when it restarts itself. I had previously purchased a Lenovo yoga c940 which had the same restarting issue until it self destructed on the charger after a month. Why are there so many issues with brand new computers?
