This laptop is awesome. Has a premium built quality. Powerful enough for designing, casual gamings and little of music production. It is large and heavy but I use it as a portable desktop really. The screen has an excellent image.

Incredible computer. Great graphics. Can have as many tabs open as you'd like. Little chunky, but it's pretty much a portable desktop with these specs.

After being a faithful Lenovo fan for years, I decided to try an HP. Its a 16" Envy. Although, it is a little heavy it has a really crisp color screen and it is very fast. Pretty user friendly too.

Originally went in for a macbook, but left with this beauty. Good hattery life for a laptop, super fast loading times and very sleek. Would recommend to anyone looking into a pc for school or gaming.

Hp support is iffy at best. However this is one powerful machine that can run any game in great graphics and lovely for editing. It gets HOT so get a cooling pad of some kind.

It is so much faster than my old one. Not a good comparison though, old one is probably 15 yrs old. I like the lighted keyboard, very good feature. Only problem I see is the speakers, could use some improvement.

Just got this laptop a few weeks ago. All in all has been great. Although, the fans are much louder than anticipated especially when compared to a MacBook. Works great though!

I upgraded to this model from a previous HP Envy laptop that has worked great for the last 4 years. The only reason I am upgrading is because the older one no longer works with the latest version of photoshop - otherwise it still functions well. This new model is very fast, and works really well. It doesn't run too hot, although I don't use it for gaming, so I don't know how well it would work under high loads. I loved that I was able to upgrade the RAM in the machine to 32GB, which the Geek Squad did for me at the time of purchase. I have only used it for a couple of weeks, but I am impressed with the machine.

Love the laptop...everything I needed....works great so far...had an issue with the purchase though... didn't have it at my local store...but they had me pay at the local store but pick it up at another store where it was available. But however, they did it..wasn't done correctly....when i went to pick it up at the other store, they wouldn't give it to me as the local store do it right...but after working through all of that mess and finally getting the laptop....the laptop is great and I am happy.

This 16 in. HP laptop is to replace my 4 year old 17 in, laptop. The new 17 in. laptops do not come with a Geforce card in them . The 16 in. does HP has been my go to for laptops.

    Check the CPU TDP

When on sale it is very good discrete gpu laptop. I got it for $700 open box I experienced intel CPU performance issues for unknown reason during the testing CPU got stuck in 25W TDP mode with huge performance impact. I did not know how to get out of it but using intel XTU utility, and then performance jumped to "as advertised" Other than that worked quite fine, a bit bigger than I expected, but it is 16" chassis, cannot fit into back pocket.

This is my 3rd HP Envy purchased from Best Buy at 6-7 year intervals. Very reliable laptops and able to handle my PhotoShop, LightRoom, and ProCreate editing programs, my genealogy research programs, tax software, and all my social media with ease and efficiency. The Ultra XGA is fast and sleek and is my first SSD. I love that it is expandable to 32 GB Memory. I think I am set for another 6-7 years!

If you're concerned about it being too "heavy," it's 5 pounds. It is completely reasonable for the power that this laptop has. If you are looking for a computer that can crush work/school activities this is for you. For the price, this is a top-notch machine. I rarely write reviews, but I feel that this laptop deserves more praise.

This is an amazing laptop for the price. I needed something for high end video editing. But most are so expensive. This gets the job done. I added 16 gb ram and a 2nd 2tb hard drive. It has a few quirks, but like I said, you can't beat it for the price! It's fast and reliable. I recommend it.

This is the third HP computer I have purchased over the last eight years. By far this HP 16" Wide Ultra XGQ Touch-Screen Laptop is the best so far. I even purchased the same laptop for my wife to replace her old laptop from another company. Right now, I'm tracking the battery to see how long I can work before a recharge. May need to adjust settings to maximize my working time.
