Manufacturer's Hinge Defect Not Covered By Warrant

The screws are too tight on the right hinge. I opened it (as one does with a laptop) and the hinge broke, also cracking the screen. I only owned it 6 months.
Dell, however, does not cover "accidental damage" even though this is clearly a manufacturer's defect based on 300+ similar issues with the right hinge on the 2-in-1s, as detailed in the Dell community forum.
Now, Dell wants $400 and 3 months to repair an $800 laptop -- this after 4 hours of dropped chats and incoherent responses by Dell "Customer Service", Mumbai Branch.
I will never purchase another Dell. Neither should you.

I've had this laptop for a year and a half now and I honestly am so happy with it. It runs fast, is super lights, maintains the charge really well and is very elegant. I just purchased the HP pen that goes with it and it makes the laptop even more fun to use!

Beyond my expectations. The computer is lightweight and has a sleek look. It shuts down and turns on quickly. The graphics are great. Touch screen responds instantly. Battery life is reasonable. I like this laptop. I can write reports, listen to music, play games. No disappointments here. I recommend this HP for home and school.

I was looking for a decent media laptop that was compact and could handle dj software and music application. For a computer with only 8gb ram, this thing excelled. It's crisp, Fast, and handles quite a bit. It's a full 360 fold, so it turns inside out to make a tablet, it's compatible with most programs, it's a Windows 11 as well. Drawbacks are it only has 2 USB ports, the display settings have to be played a bit with as sometimes it cuts off the windows, and it's very thin so it feels like it might bend or break easily.

High and fast computer. Light and compatible. Very fast and efficient. The only downside is that there aren’t enough usb outputs. But, if you aren’t going to use that many usb inputs, I’m sure you won’t have a problem. It even has some fast and optimizable tab usages that’ll make your life just a little easier. Work smarter, not harder kind of vibes. Thank you HP!

Compact but packs a lot in! I got used to typing on a smaller laptop (keyboard has a backlit option) and it's my primary pc. It can be used like a tablet and is relatively light-weight. Got a good deal on it in store. I had to return another one, and the cashier and GM were helpful. Make sure to allow enough space underneath so it doesn't overheat. Note: Turn it upside down so the vents are unobstructed. It has very thin rubber feet that are almost flush with any surface.

Great laptop but don't expect an i7 performance!

I bought this laptop on the labor day at $649 (excluding taxes) which is a sweet deal, spending anything more than that wouldn't be advisable as it is not a great performer. Let me explain by breaking down my review into pros and cons.
Pros:
1) Display: Great display with good color accuracy and the 16:10 aspect ratio makes it good for productivity tasks. Bezels are really slim and the touch response is also pretty good.
2) Build and form factor: Excellent build quality, there is not much flex anywhere and it feels like a premium product. The weight distribution is good. The hinge seems to do its work fine. There is no issue in folding it and using it as a tablet.
3) Others: Good sound quality, decent amout of ports (surprised to see 2 thunderbolt ports at this price) and thanks for including 2 full size USB A ports for such a thin form factor, decent battery life 6-7 hours on mixed usage (no gaming), good sized trackpad, and great keyboard.
Cons:
Processor: THIS DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE AN i7. What I'm trying to say is that this laptop comes with a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 evo (1250U) which on paper has 10 cores, BUT there are only 2 performance cores and 8 effeciency cores which makes the performance of the laptop really weak. I just work on Python using Anaconda or open some heavy Google Sheets and it starts struggling a little bit. The fans crank up to max speed and the laptop starts heating up. I believe for an i7, a dual core performance setup is unacceptable in 2022. It should at least have a quad core setup.
2) Hinge: This is a minor issue, this laptop does not open with one hand. You'll need to keep a finger on the base to lift the lid. Not a big deal though.
Verdict: If you need a top notch performance on a thin and light laptop, there are many others which are better than this laptop, the Macbook Air M1 being the best of all. However, on an overall level at $649 this laptop gets the job done!

This laptop is perfect for college. The screen is very clear, the audio is clear and the touch screen feature is smooth. Pairing pens to the laptop and other Bluetooth devices is very easy. Nice design and features. I will recommend getting it when it goes on sale.
