I purchased it last Sept of 22. I love it however, whenever I am surfing the net, the screen went black for a few seconds and then came back to the internet. It has been an ongoing problem. Can't find the problem.

Surprise. If there is one word I have to sum up this device, it’s that one. “Surprise.” Surprised to have received it. Surprised to have learned what it looked like. Surprised to learn what it packed under the hood. And surprised several times over by the details. This machine literally snuck up on me. I had been griping about my previous antique of a desktop machine for some time now before my wife surprised me with this one – in exchange for my writing this review, of course. Now, It should be known that I’m hardly a power user. I don’t game much at all. I dabble in a bit of light photo and video editing using the less-system tasking (and free!) options available online or included with earlier versions of Windows operating systems. Most of my heaviest usage comes as a result of multi-tasking through a combination of tab-heavy browsing combined with a smattering of various Office applications. As an amateur photo hobbyist, I dreamed about being able to use some of the professional quality photo and video editing platforms, but have never had a machine that met the minimum performance specs, never mind the recommended ones, to be able to give it a go. Needless to say, I’m not really a computer guy. And my wife is even less of one. (Don’t laugh. You know what I meant!) My experience with all-in-ones (henceforth AIO) was extremely limited, as the last one I interacted with was a low-end example we had purchased several years ago to give to my grandfather who was simple in need and low on living space. So when my wife told me she got me a computer, I was immediately surprised… and nervous. I had hoped for something with a little more umph than what I’d been used to. And when she said it was an AIO, I was even more scared. Just who are these AIOs marketed to? Folks tight on space? People who need simplicity as a priority? Folks like Grandpa? Certainly not those with high performance system demands in mind, right? I immediately looked up the details on this HP Envy 34 AIO she picked out for me, fully prepared to act the role of an ungrateful little twit by looking my gift horse straight in the mouth and complaining about what it lacked. But the teeth on this particular horse turned out to be in much better shape than I was expecting. Now like I said, I don’t know computers well, but I do know that the numbers sure looked good on paper. Way better than anything I’d ever used previously. 11th gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB memory, 4GB dedicated GPU, 1TB SSD… these things I have a minimal understanding of, except that these are what are required for the machine to think, multitask, retrieve and store stuff quickly and easily. And all of those numbers and letters seemed to indicate that they either met or exceeded the recommended performance specifications of all those programs I’d hoped to someday attempt to learn. Consider me pleasantly surprised. As caught up as I was in the numbers on the website, I was even more surprised when the box arrived at my door. It was big. I don’t know how, in all my worrying about RAM and storage, I never bothered to consider how large a 34 inch screen was going to be. At work I use a multiple monitor setup. Three displays total, with one oriented in portrait. So much flexibility. I love it. I wanted something similar at home, but lacked the ports, performance and physical desk space to do all that, with a relatively small desk already chock-full of miscellaneous peripherals, adapters, speakers, and cables running to and fro. The Envy 34 AIO offered me an unexpected solution to a space management issue I was barely even aware of until I unboxed this thing two weeks ago. On that topic, unboxing this thing was a surprise in and of itself. A far larger display than I had expected, the ultra-widescreen 21:9 aspect ratio lends itself really well to multi-tasking. While not quite the same as having two or more monitors, and lacking the ability to orient the monitor vertically in portrait, the additional screen real estate makes multi-tasking much more pleasant and functional than with any single display setups I’ve used previously. You can easily run two or three windows side by side without the need for constant and annoying side-to-side scrolling. And if two or more displays is a must-have for you, this machine and its variety of ports will accommodate that option as well. You will just need a much wider desk than what I have available. But despite its large display dimensions, the Envy 34 AIO offered a surprisingly small footprint on the desk itself by way of its reasonably-sized base. It also was impressively thin compared to previous AIO computers I have seen. I suppose that is a blessing of having so much room to work with in the horizontal and vertical directions behind such a large display – being able to spread out your components in a flatter arrangement. Long story short, I gained a lot of impressive-looking display area and actually used less space on the desk with this machine. As one might expect from an AIO, setup was an absolute breeze. Plop it on the desk, plug in the single power cable, put some batteries in the included mouse and keyboard, and power it on. Some basic setup stuff, connect to the Wi-Fi, install a few updates, and boom… you’re off and running. And speaking of keyboard and mouse, that was another pleasant surprise. Both devices in the box, wireless, and already paired via Bluetooth with the machine itself. Both are sufficient, but as different folks like different things in their typing and clicking tools, I imagine many folks will eventually want to add their own favorites. I find the keyboard layout a little cramped, although the button/key travel is short, quiet and satisfyingly tactile. The mouse is not terribly noteworthy and is likely going to be the first thing I replace, as I personally prefer a mouse with the little forward/back buttons on the side, which this does not offer. But my favorite aspect of the included accessories is the ease of use and the lack of either additional wires or the need to tie up a USB port with a dongle or two. (Random aside, I really love that word. “Dongle.” Anyone else?) So as long as you aren’t super picky about your typie-clicky stuff, then you’re all set! And on the topic of offering everything you need right out of the box, let’s talk for just a brief moment about the sound. The built-in B&O speakers, while not a substitute for a dedicated set of external speakers, they are quite good for what they are. I did find myself briefly trying to figure out a way to squeeze a little more low-end sound out of them while streaming my tunes, which I was unable to find a way to do. So if you use your machine for watching movies or listening to a lot of music and you are big on customizing your sound, you will probably want to opt for your own externals. But for basic usage like how I generally use my machine, the sound was more than adequate and even bordered on good. And based on what I’m used to from built-in speakers, I was once again surprised by this, especially since it once again meant fewer things (speakers, cables) needed on or in the immediate vicinity of my desk. So despite its large display dimensions, the Envy 34 AIO offered a surprisingly small footprint on the desk itself by way of its reasonably-sized base and built-in or wirelessly connected peripherals. It also was impressively thin compared to previous AIO computers I have seen. I suppose that is a blessing of having so much room to work with in the horizontal and vertical directions – being able to spread out your components in a flatter arrangement. Remember that space management solution I alluded to a few paragraphs ago? One monitor, small overall footprint, one power cable (routed entirely out of sight via a convenient cable-management clip at the rear of the display post), wireless accessories… Heck, the monitor base itself even features wireless charging, enabling you to keep your phone topped off without a cable at hand. That’s one fewer charging cable or brick I need sitting on my desktop now. My desk has never been so uncluttered while offering so much potential. It actually feels larger, despite having more screen on it than ever before. I wasn’t kidding when I said I kept being surprised. So before I leave the topic of accessories, I wanted to mention that the Envy also comes with a USB webcam that I haven’t even bothered to plug in yet. I’m not much of a webcam guy except for the occasional video conference for work, which are thankfully pretty rare. So no, I can’t really review that component much other than to say that it affixes to the machine magnetically and that there are several potential attachment points located all around the display to offer you plenty of flexibility in how you use your webcam, so that’s pretty cool I guess. And I guess on that same topic of things I can’t comment much on, I’d also like to point out that this machine shipped with Windows 11 installed, which I’m still quite new to and haven’t fully formed an opinion on. It works. I haven’t had too much difficulty adapting from Windows 10. So that’s a pretty okay operating system, I guess. I’ll probably know more when I’ve got a couple hundred hours of desk-time in front of it. Lastly, and the reason I’ve been pushing off this review for longer than I probably should have, was because I was wanting to try to find ways to put this machine through its paces to see how it performs in real life instead of just parroting facts and numbers you can read about in the promotional material. I wanted to try a couple of games on it. I wanted to try to run four different Excel files, two Word documents and a PowerPoint presentation simultaneously, along with two browsers with five tabs open in the background and the Spotify desktop application streaming one of my playlists.

    Incredible screen, ok internals

The HP Envy 34 all in one is a battle of huge screen real estate, internal components, and price point. There is so much to love about this computer, and a few things to consider before clicking that buy button. The screen on this HP all in one is really the crowning jewel. A 34 inch screen really is more than enough for any workflow a professional or amateur needs. I have two 24 inch displays on my main desktop that I use for my schoolwork and some video editing. You would think that going from that to a 34 inch display would feel like a downgrade shocker, but it didn’t. Instead, it feels like a more streamlined experience with a more than enough screen space to have my usual two independent screen tabs open. The quality of the screen goes beyond the size. The screen sports a 5k resolution which future proofs you comfortably. The internal components are one of the only issues with this computer, when you see the price point. The model I reviewed is $2,109.99, and comes with a top of the line i7 current generation CPU, an acceptable but not great 16GB of RAM, reasonable 1TB SSD, and an atrocious GTX 1650 GPU. $2,109.99 is not a small amount of money. That’s an investment. Investments are when you give up some form of personal wealth to gain something else for a period of time, at least that’s my basic view of investments. The computer market has to be one of the most crowded, competitive, full of amazing options markets in existence. I mean, heck, you can BUILD your own computer incredibly easily and get exactly what you want down to every last single component. In a world where that’s an option, a mass produced one size fits all option is a tough sell for someone like me. Luckily, HP sells this all in one in a few configurations so its not exactly a one size fits all. However, you have to pony up quite a bit to move up from this model. So, lets focus in on this model at this price point. A GTX 1650 is quite an old GPU at this point. Its also not a very powerful GPU if your goal is to either game, or video edit. Now, this is not marketed as a gaming PC, and its not one. However, you CAN game on this PC. If you aren’t a hardcore gamer, you will not be dissatisfied by the performance of this PC. However, if you are a hardcore video editor which I think this PC is marketed for, you have many options at this price point. It feels like you are being sold on the premise of a fantastic world class screen, with some respectable, but not great internals. THAT’S where you will have to make a decision. You can always spec up if you really want this great screen to go with better internals. Some other tid bits I want to mention is some really sweet extras that come with this all in one. The term “all” really means all. This PC comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a magnetic webcam. All three of these extras are of good quality and provide a real added benefit that SHOULD be considered when weighing out the pros and cons of this package. It adds a value to the system and shouldn’t be ignored. The other two things that are excellent are the plethora of ports, and the wireless pad on the base of the computer. When it comes to ports, not only are there a great amount, HP realized that it would be hard to access them when reaching around the back of the massive display. So, they put a good array of ports on the stem of the base that holds up the display. This makes is so easy to access my main use of ports, bravo HP. Then there’s the wireless charger on the base. I already had one on my desk, but I was able to move that one somewhere else in the house and make use of the one on the base. I love having a wireless charger on my desk, this just makes it cleaner and easier. I hope this helps other people experience the beauty of having a wireless charger on their desk. The HP Envy All in One is a good option to take a look at and find out if this fits into your needs. It definitely deserves to be on your radar, and your attention.

Easy set up. Quickly connected all of my info just by entering in a few things. Especially easy because my previous computer was also an HP. I purchased an Apple, I was so disappointed, so I exchanged it for this! So much easier then the Apple! The quality of the colors and speed make this worth every penny

I am reviewing the HP - ENVY 34" WUHD All-In-One - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 - 1TB SSD. I have heard that the previous versions, I believe had issues. I just wanted to give my take on this one. The unboxing experience is like a large screen TV, which was weirdly funny to me. Upon unpacking everything, there is really nothing to put together other than the magnetic wire ring to keep cords tidy in the back of the monitor. Well, you do have to unpack the webcam and power cord, keyboard and mouse. The keyboard is a very nice slim profile keyboard with ten key touch. The mouse also has a super slim profile and sits close to the table. Both are very thin. The only thing I wish was that the mouse and keyboard, while both wireless, be rechargeable. Both uses AA batteries. Not sure what the use as of yet. Before powering up the all-in-one, I did plug in a 4k monitor as a second monitor, the webcam, and a PS 4 controller and a usb to usb-c cord to charge my gaming headphones. I have to say there are ample ports to use. I did not feel like I needed more ports for my use. In using my 4k monitor, the max refresh rate via HDMI is at 30hz and that is as high that it gets. The workaround is to play with the settings and switch to TV and go a step or two below to get closer to the 60hz that I am used to. I got 59.5hz, which is good enough for me. The webcam is a cool feature on this all-in-one. There are 8 magnet points where you can mount the webcam so you can do your normal webcam meetings to using the camera to do a time lapse video pointing down at the table to show key strokes or key presses of things you want to show. The entire setup looks slick and sleek. The 34 inch monitor is long and takes a little getting used to. Oh getting back to the webcam, the quality is a bit better than what is offered in the mid tier webcams in my opinion. With some good lighting you can get decent quality images. The privacy screen built in the webcam is a nice touch as well. The powering up and usage is simple as can be. It powered up really fast and I am happy about the quick set up time for this computer. The wireless pad on the base is a great use of space in my opinion. I use a GS20FE and it is fast charging. There's an amber LED which switches to white when your device is fully charged. Finding the sweet spot is not hard either. You just put your device on the base of the computer and if the LED is solid, you have correctly placed your device on the wireless charging pad. I have a thin case on my phone and the wireless charge works fine without issues. In playing Steam games this monitor shines. The image this produces is insanely clear! The contrast is deep and black and the whites are white as can be and can be pretty bright. This 34 inch monitor uses every inch and does not disappoint. The Bang and Olufsen speakers are ok, but they are just ok for computer speakers. All in all, this all-in-one is a winner. Besides the weird refresh rates of the second 4k monitor, this computer is a beauty to look at and is pretty easy to use. There are a lot of ports to use, most are USB-C, but that doubles for thunderbolt 4, which is also awesome! I hightly recommend this version and have had very little issues so far.

I was very excited to get this computer! It’s really great. Extremely fast and wonderful screen/picture. The thing that lowered my score was the mouse. It would not double click. You could click once on something but when a double click was attempted it would stick. Which was very frustrating to say the least. I mean I paid almost $2k for this computer and the mouse doesn’t work?!! I was so fed up I bought a mouse off of Amazon.
