I spent the weekend setting up and getting some time with the HP Envy 34” All-in-one Intel Core i7 with 16GB of memory and NVIDIA GTX 1650. I’ve got to say I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews online. The PC looks great on paper, but what some said about their problems with bios settings and blue/green SOD errors had me worried. The box arrived and I treated it like a new TV. The box had four squeeze plastic (clamps?), two per side to hold the lid on. I removed those, one with a tamper-proof sticker, and slid the box top off. I saw that the unit was very well protected with foam and proceeded to figure out how to safely remove it. I realized it’s not as fragile as a new large screen TV and that by lifting on the mount, the PC came out in one piece. Really, no assembly required. NICE! I walked it over to a spot I cleared on my desk and placed it down. I then powered up the included mouse and keyboard, added the camera, connected a LAN cable and the power cord and it was off to the races. I kept in my mind all the negative comments I read and said I’ll just use Windows Update to get the PC current. I wasn’t going to get the latest graphics card driver or sound driver, just what the manufacturers had sent to update. The unit fired up and it went through the Windows 11 setup. I got Wi-Fi connected and all my options and then it was time to rid the unit of any unwanted programs. I have my own security suite and so I uninstalled McAfee asap. I then installed my own. After that, I clicked Windows Update and let it start. It got a few things downloaded and then needed a restart. After restarting I did it again and a slew of updates appeared. That’s to be expected as it was manufactured months ago. I let update do its thing and restarted. This time an HP bios update came on before the login screen appeared and again, I just let it run. After it finished and booted, one last attempt to update the PC and it was done. I’ve only used it for a couple of days, but so far, I haven’t seen any issues like I read. I love the large screen layout over the dual HP 27f screens I currently use with my Ryzen 7 desktop. The colors are more vivid than my dual setup and with a fresh copy of Windows 11, I don’t get the lack of consistency I do with my ungraded version on the Ryzen desktop. I have an external drive I keep all my games on. I have most of the game apps where users download games these days. I have the Epic store, Amazon Games, Microsoft Store, GOG, Blizzard, Launchbox, and Opera GX browser. I was able to install all the platforms and games I have onto the new HP All-in-one. Some were simple to do as they had built-in tools to reinstall each game, while other platforms made it near impossible to do, but not completely impossible. Once I had figured out how to install games on each platform, I let the easy one’s finish and the hard ones install a few games to ensure they worked and set off to evaluate some out. The first one to try was Forza 7. This game met its end of life a few months ago, but it’s really a great game. It’s dang near impossible to load on the first or tenth try, but once installed, it runs great. The HP All-in-one didn’t disappoint, and it took that night and the next day to get it to download from the store. It’s 96GB to download and it gets stuck or errors out constantly. Finally, I got it to install and give me the nice green play button. The HP PC loaded the game faster than my gaming laptop and looked amazing in the thirty-seven” screen. I continued my race career and was able to place first as usual. I then played a number of games from various platforms, and they all exceeded my expectations. In my experience, this model works as it should. I’ve had just the minor hiccups and none of the issues I read about. I can only guess that HP has read the same complaints and addressed them in this newer production unit or through the updates I installed off the bat. So, what else? I was always intrigued by the All-in-one PC, but I’m certified to build PC’s and liked building my own, at least back in the day. Now with the price of PC parts, it easier and cheaper to buy a complete unit. I just have to make sure I buy for the future and not skimp at the checkout. These things aren’t always upgradable, so pay for what you want at the gate. This HP All-in-one is nice, as it allows for memory upgrades and an additional Nvme drive. The memory slots are full, but I imagine they can be replaced with a faster set. There is currently 16GB installed. If I had one negative here, it’s the fit and finish of the access door. It’s easily accessible on the back of the monitor and is held on by a magnetic strip. It just pops off and then back on. As many times as I’ve tried to get it to lock on top, as soon as I let go, it sags down a bit. Just a cosmetic issue, but with OCD, it bugs me a bit. Now to go through all the programs to see if I missed any bloatware. It doesn’t seem like it, but you never know. I click on Duet Display. Not because it’s bloatware, but because I want to know what it does. The first thing it asks for is an update. Go figure…right? No biggie, let it run and see what’s next. A few moments later a menu pops up and it allows for the PC to mirror itself on an iOS, Android, or Windows screen. Me likey! As I venture down the all apps list, McAfee continues to rear its ugly head and I right click it to uninstall. Lucky for me it does so rather painlessly. It’s just a reminder that McAfee never gives up easily and I usually have to go through the registry to remove as much of it as I can find. Lastly, would I recommend this PC. Heck yeah, I would. So far, its ran great, installed and played my software without issue and it’s nice have a fast PC without a large box on the floor. It’s rather pretty with just the large monitor on an adjustable pole (mind you it gives the user tons of options on how to view the monitor) a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. Also, since it’s the mouse and keyboard from HP, no dongles to take up USB ports. Except for the few minor negatives, the positives of the machine exceeded what I expected and I happy with the results.

A welcome addition to my graphic design office

I am a graphics designer and spend my days (and nights) on a 27” iMac working primarily with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. However, I have some clients who need things that can be created only on a Windows PC, such as Publisher documents. For the past several years, I have done those projects on a tower PC with a so-so 27” monitor. I found it awkward and uncomfortable and something I was always eager to finish using. Then the HP ENVY All-In-One 34 arrived! It was easy to set up and load with my graphics programs and various backup system. Then I started using it for several office and graphics applications. Here are some of my observations: Equipment setup – Because this is an all-in-one, the only physical setup is unpacking everything and plugging in the power cord. You can adjust the screen height by a smooth, easy slide up and down the stem. Afterwards, it feels stable and doesn’t slip. If you choose to attach the webcam, that’s a simple matter of plugging it into one of the ports conveniently located on the back of the computer and along the stem of its stand. The camera attaches magnetically onto the screen frame, which means placing and re-placing it takes no effort. It has an easy-to-use slide mechanism for privacy. Software setup – the Envy AIO 34 comes with the basic Microsoft Office programs preinstalled. My other programs, such as Microsoft Publisher and the Adobe Creative Suite programs, are subscription based, so I went online to install those. The whole process took only a few minutes. Display quality – The 34-inch screen has a 5K resolution, making it as easy on my eyes as my iMac. I often am working at a single-pixel level on an image, and that puts a lot of wear and tear on my eyes, so picture quality is a big deal for me. The colors are excellent, and there are options for adjusting them for different functions. Display dimensions – This 34-inch screen has a 21:9 aspect ratio. That means I can have 2 and even 3 programs open alongside each other, something that otherwise would require multiple display units. In addition to taking up far less of my workspace than multiple units, this configuration reduces the distance my sight has to travel and allows me to truly align multiple views with almost no effort. Accessories – The keyboard and mouse come already paired with the unit, so once you install the batteries, they are good to go. I like the dimensions and touch of the keyboard, but the mouse is not the touch I am accustomed to, so I will probably be replacing that. Speed & power – This all-in-one outfit is not as powerful as a well-configured tower might be, but it has not had trouble keeping up with me. I do not do animation – that might alter my perception on this score – but I do execute some fairly beefy adjustments and saves within some complex programs on a nearly constant basis, and it has not tested my patience. Nonetheless, I like knowing that if I need to, I can upgrade the memory and storage on this unit very easily via the access panel on the back. Noise – I can occasionally hear the fan working, but it is very faint and not constant. The more I use this computer, the less I notice the fan at all. Bottom line? If this was my only computer for my graphic design business, I could be quite happy with it. Its sleek design, large and brilliant display, and ability to handle complex graphics programs make it a welcome addition to my office.

HP's Envy 34" WUHD computer is truly an all-in-one beauty. With the mammoth screen real estate, versatile webcam, and wireless charging dock, the Envy does all the things to keep you at your workspace and productive. First impression? Wow. The large screen is a monster that takes getting used to. At 34" and boasting 5120 x 2160 resolution, you're seeing more screen than you ever have before, and with three-sided micro-edges, it feels very immersive. The Envy is sleek and thin from a profile view, with a large, balanced look on a platform that doubles as a wireless charging dock. As an all-in-one, your processor and all inputs are built in right behind the screen, but the machine is so thin and compact that it takes up as little desk space as you can imagine. The thin stand is height adjustable and locks in place wherever you stop, no off-putting clicks or buttons needed. The Envy provides a clean workspace look with some smart cord management placement as well. Overall, this machine is a beauty. Startup is lightning fast and setup is a cinch, with Windows 11 built-in and as reliable as ever. The bright screen is vibrant and expansive; set up your work windows in one corner, follow your news or sports scores in another, and keep up with social media or emails at yet another corner of the screen. And when you're tired of working, sit back and stream your movies in a full screen that challenges any TV in your house for the top entertainment spot. With some exceptional Bang & Olufsen dual speakers, the Envy provides some impressive, rich audio quality as well. The magnetic, adjustable webcam is a nice accessory. The top and side edges provide magnetic connectivity to perfectly position the cam where you need it, whether you're recording a video, streaming yourself in a gaming session, or in a web conference for work. The 16MP camera is very good in low-light and delivers very clear video for your viewers. The keyboard is light and thin. On the plus side, it is a full keyboard with number pad and wireless in keeping with the sleek, compact look of the Envy screen. My one gripe is it does feel a little flimsy and cheap compared to the quality of the monitor. The same issues apply to the wireless mouse: it is a decent, reliable device, but it feels a little underwhelming in quality compared to the screen again. It has only the left and right clicks and a basic scroll, but I would have liked an additional thumb button or some ergonomic qualities in keeping with the amazing screen with which you are connected. As if the Envy needed more value add-ons, the base doubles as a wireless, fast-charging dock for your compatible mobile phones and tablets. It is yet another way the Envy is thinking about your workspace and desk area so you can focus on your work or your play on the screen. Lastly, you can easily connect up to two external displays to expand that screen even larger, and the machine case has a tool-less door design to expand memory and storage. It is truly a computer that will have a long lifespan in your household. With some amazing qualities, beautiful aesthetics, and smart add-ons, the HP Envy 34" all-in-one will be the center of your work and entertainment space. While some accessories are a bit underwhelming, the large screen, the versatile, magnetic webcam and thoughtful, wireless charging base stand out to provide you with an experience designed to keep you working without having to worry about anything outside the screen. The Envy is an easy recommendation for serious creators and casual computer users alike. Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

This all-in-one computer may be my favorite PC I have used compared to all the others I have previously owned. HP ditched the tower with all the cords plugged into it. The only cord a person needs is the power cord and the cord attached to the webcam that is included with this computer! After that, everything is built into the screen or is wireless, like the mouse and keyboard. I love the 34" screen. Being that I work a lot from home, I am able to have multiple applications running at the same time to work across programs. On my old computer, I used to have to minimize apps during work which was frustrating! This computer also has a lot of USB connection options. I love how some of those connections are actually built into the main support structure of the computer. This gives it a very sleek and eye pleasing design. This computer is very fast! It only takes a few seconds to go from pushing the power button to working! It has the latest version of Windows as well! The only thing I would like to have seen is an integrated web cam. This web cam is bulky. I have seen comparative or better quality from a camera smaller than this one. It stands out in a slightly obtrusive way. The only good thing about the camera is the versatility to be able to move it to other locations around the frame of the screen due to the base of the camera being magnetic. It attaches to different magnetic points all around the screen. It also have a privacy screen which is a nice touch. One of my favorite details about this computer is the wireless charging pad on the bottom of the unit! While working, I can lay my phone on it and charge it without connecting to a USB-C cord on the computer or on a wall outlet! I thought this was a very nice touch that I had never seen on a computer before! Other than the web cam, I think this all-in-one computer from HP will fit the bill for most people in terms of what they are looking for in a great work or home computer!

I’m a Lego content creator on YouTube and I got this system to bring my videos to the next level and this system fits all of my needs. First and foremost, the screen is beautiful!! 34” wide with a sleek design and I really like the all-in-one design…reminds me of iMacs back in their glory days. Having 34” space give me the ability to have three windows open at once and still have all words easily readable. The monitor is also height adjustable which is A+ in my book for helping achieve those perfect viewing angles and working conditions. I use a sit/stand desk combination and it’s easy to switch from my viewing angles for both sit/stand work. The camera not only takes great videos but the ability to move it around (magnetic too!!) allows me to showcase my creations and get great camera angles. I highly recommend that if you’re using this for content creation that you get a set of lights (I use DigiPower Pro 3’s) to really help your videos pop and wash out those annoying ceiling lights. Again using this for content creation I use Adobe Premier software coupled with a Blue Yeti Microphone and the system has zero issues running everything (I use YouTube’s platform for creation and live events). I like having 1 TB SSD of data storage (pretty standard these days) which allows me to maximize my video storage (and keep them off my phone…which is what I was using before I got this rig) Out of the box, set up, downloading all the updates, software etc took about 1.5 hours to complete, again pretty standard. Just love this computer not only for its functionality but for its sleek, modern design which displays beautifully in my work space!!

I love this comp. The screen is its best attribute. There were some hiccups in the beginning. I believe the Samsung generic OEM SSD in this system is garbage and is causing most of the hardware problems people are facing. I upgraded mine and it hasn't given me any issues since. Windows 11 has some issues as well, but I am sure MS will sort it out eventually. But this is a great system if you don't get the hardware and software bugs.

I don't understand why HP is having such a hard time building All in Ones. The HP Envy 32 has an expected lifespan of 1 year and this one seems to be plagued with issues. I cannot spend $3,000 to replace the faulty SSD or have issues from day. I bought a HP for my daughter last year and the fan was running at a high pitch making it impossible to keep for her while she studies for 3 AP classes and 2 honors classes. I replaced with a Dell, paid $100 more, and it's perfect for her. Apple's iMac is hard to believe when you see it - the things is like a thin screen that somehow has a computer and 6 speakers - it's also 24 inches so has less space. Where's the computer in it? Is it running on the cloud? :-) HP has enough space to cool this better than the Xbox and PS5 and it costs 6 times as much. I have no sympathy that there's no water cooling or super heatsinks to keep this running at 10 degrees celsius. Throttling shouldn't even be an issue but apparently it's a huge one and that means the unit gets hot. If it gets hot, it's not designed properly. I can understand laptops throttling but this is not a laptop and throttling means very high heat levels. I've been using a Lenovo A730 (the best iMac 27 alternative) which is now 10 years old - the thing still doesn't jut run, it runs a vm with Windows server and Visual Studio on it:-) I'm writing this review on it. HP - go hire whoever built the Lenovo A730, they are a genius!!! This is just unbelievable from a company like HP. This flagship AIO should run like a champ. Instead, it makes everyone who buys it look like a chump.
