Started off as a great printer but stopped working after a year. Thankfully I had the protection plan because their geek squad doesn't fix printers and unfortunately that didn't have mine in stock so they just gave me back the money for what I purchased it at.

    Regret Buying This Printer

I don’t typically leave bad products reviews. I am intermediate level at tech issues. And I totally regret buying this printer and the Instant Ink program. Despite using the cartridges that are supposed to be used, due to some issue with the instant ink program, I have “incompatible cartridge” problems and can’t print. Calling HP for help, even while under warranty, simply led to automated messages and then a referral to check their support pages (which I had already checked) because “most issues can be resolved without talking with an agent.” That was the end of the help, although theoretically they’re going to assign me a case number so that I can talk to an actual person for help. In the meantime, I am stuck with a useless printer that o just bought 6 months ago.

The color printing is awful! Certainly not what I was expecting, I was hoping to get better color printing like I did when I had an old Brother printer in which I paid less money for. Very disappointed in the HP printer

When it wants to print, it’s great. But loses connection with PC all the time and can only print with phone/iPad. They make you use an HP app for printing and ordering/prepaying ink so that’s how they suck you in. I would not buy this again.

Worst printer purchase ever... problems right out of the box. Took forever to set up, could not find wireless network. After spending hours trying to set this up, downloading the proper drivers and software, the printer continues to mysteriously GO OFFLINE for no apparent reason whatsoever. Every time this happens I have to turn off the printer and power off/on my router in order for the printer to "connect to the network"! Complete hassle and waste of time. This is not the only issue with this printer... I am constantly receiving ERROR messages on the printer screen. I've tried contacting HP customer service and all they say is to power on/off my router! What a joke Oh wait... I forgot... the scan feature doesn't work either!

I would leave zero stars if possible. This thing is such an incredible piece of junk. (1) The unit constantly shows as connected to wifi but my pc can never find it unless I shut it off and back on every single time (2) It prints HORRIBLE quality even though the ink levels are >75% (3) It runs through ink very quickly and HP pushes their ink subscription pretty hard I dont think I could ever bring myself to buy another HP printer. It's unfortunate because I have been pretty satisfied with everything from HP in the past. My recommendation - spend a little more money elsewhere for a LOT better quality.

    Buyer’s remorse

This would be a nice printer if you didn’t have to spend a small fortune on ink cartridges. A cartridges can run out extremely fast….like within 40 pages. HP says 50 pages but when you install a new cartridge the printer wants to print an alignment page. Well that single page (with all its lines and color) is roughly 10% of your ink. It’s painfully hilarious because the cartridge can have 15% of ink available and then it’ll print a page that’s totally illegible. Their solution is to sign up for their instant ink solution where the printer can use your credit card information to order refills. Ugh

    Avoid this headache

At first, everything works fine. After a short time, the printer is connected to everything yet nothing can see it. When you try to troubleshoot the printer you end up having your devices reconnect to the printer only for it to have weird issues where no device can see it while the printer is saying that it's available for all. I would not recommend getting this headache of a printer at all. Stay far away from HP and just go with Brother or Canon.

Purchased this when it was on sale for $30 and I set it up and have not been able to get it to work. I’m keeping it since it was $30 and will just have to figure out how to work it. I’m sure it’s just something I’m doing wrong

The quality of this printer is low, the ink cartridges sont hold much not even the XL's, it will eat some ink. Print quality is low, it doesn't hold much paper & it lags a lot.

It worked for a few weeks. Paper advancing mechanism doesn’t grab paper. Pages won’t print. I’m glad I purchased the Geek Squad warranty!
