But every single time you disconnect it seemed impossible to reconnect. I still have this printer and do no t use it at all because its super complicated to connect wireless- which is the main reason why I purchased it.

The optional ink program and HP+ are added bonuses. While rather basic, the control panel is not very well defined until a selection is made and the touch key lights up.

My only criticism is the lack of information, manual, or any kind of directions to go with it. Once you get it out of the box you're on your own, but once it's working it's fine. Plus is it really necessary to be forced to download an app on your cell phone just to to set up a printer?

I thought that it would connect direct to my laptop through direct connect as indicated per the instructions. I was not successful and neither were the pros at best buy. it will connect via wifi and hard wire cable. *** be sure to buy a hard wire cable for your device to printer to simplify the connection process.

From my previous experience HP is a good quality brand. I also love that it is wireless and I do not have to be in the same room to print from my laptop.

The app helps me keep track of prints, I can print even when I am not home and signing up thus far is pretty cool. One less thing to worry about and cartridges look bigger than store sizes. Also realized I print a lot.

The printer was the easiest wireless installation I have done, and the printer has "found" my network whenever there has been a power or internet service interruption. The print quality is good on both text and photos, and the scanner has been a nice convenience that I didn't have previously. I am completely happy with this printer, and I have owned others from HP before!

The controls on the front consist of only 3-4 'buttons' that don't say what they do. It's not that it's not easy to use, it's just that they don't have many options other than number of copies and to stop copying. It takes forever to start printing and has this ridiculous light inside of it that swirls and twirls and then the printer makes odd noises and chirps and whistles. Who needs a concert and light show, just start printing! The print quality is fair, nothing like my old HPs which worked without fuss and were much better than their new machines. I also prefer black to this off white nonsense. On the plus side the plastic is thick and sturdy, but I'm looking for an alternative at this point. Considering Epson

I can certainly understand why substandard print quality, unexplained delays in print jobs, and odd noises and lights would add up to a poor start to ownership.
