So, far so good. Setting up the printer was extremely easy. The step by step instructions are fool proof. I really like the LED color changes. It let's you know what it's doing with each color change. The only thing I would hit on negative is the ink cartridge size. If you plan on printing a lot I would bump up to a larger printer.

HP Envy printer is so quiet and is just perfect. The size is a lot smaller than the old printer/fax combo. Super easy to use and set up.

It prints well, super easy to setup (even on windows). The HP ink, I think that’ll be a good program to utilize. My only “bad” - the paper drawer seems like a weak point and pretty cheaply made, I worry that won’t last. But, so far - good printer. My last HP printer was purchased over 15 years ago and it still works! The only reason I got a new one is because the drivers no longer exist with windows for it to work on my work laptop.

End User comment: "I love it. It's easy to function and print out perfectly fine. It's great to have a personal printer at home. I will rate this printer a number 8 (1-10 rating) mainly because we cannot compare to the high-tech printer at work. "

Prints quickly and quietly. Easy hookup to wifi to prin5. Toner doesn't last very long forbthe cost of it. If you are going to print a lot consider a more economical printer.

The digital renaissance spurred by digital cameras in the early 2000's created the D.I.Y home printing phenomena. As cameras became more advance, printers and ink continued to be expensive. So much that cartridges continue to be a home office manager's budget nightmare. Honestly, I was reluctant at first in obtaining a new printer since the expense cost associated with cartridge printers continue to baffle me. Enter the HP Smart program with Insta Ink, an innovative experiment to keep customers from buying new printers and to share the printing costs through a membership program that allows for the manufacture to know your printing needs thru real time automation. While noble, there are opportunities with HP ENVY 6455. I am going to focus this review on my experience in printing photos only. My first impression when taking it out of the box was favorable. The printer is not too tall and bulky as most scanner printers in the market. This is a low profile scanner. I utilized there HP Smart app, both thru my new Dell laptop and also thru two different smart phones (android and iPhone), and photo paper. I must say that was the easiest app to setup and use. The quality of print output thru my wife's Samsung phone was surprising better than from my laptop, however, her phone did not offer a photo size in the menu options menu, this is a key opportunity for HP's smart app developer's. When printing from my laptop, I was able to choose the size of my photo size print. However, the results from printing from my laptop was disappointing. There were subtle vertical cartridge streaks. Is there a thing? I’ll include an image from an upload of what I mean by vertical lines. That brings me to the only positive thing on this ENVY 6455. The scanner works. It facilitated the opportunity to share with you the vertical streaks. Wow! Not happy with the printing results, but the scanning was amazing. You’ll get to see my disappointment on the poor photo quality. I bought in to the digital renaissance in hopes to be more efficient with my hard copy output in photo printing, however new printers such as ENVY 6455 are built on old cartridge engineering. I get that HP is wanting to gain a foothold with their automation service model, however, that comes at the consumer cost by surrendering more of our privacy and wallet upfront for convenience. Not sure if I’d like to return for seconds when I did not obtain satisfactory printing results in the first place from ENVY 6455. It does beg the question, why have printers continue to be the most replaceable hardware in computer peripherals? I believe now is the best time for consumers to ask for a better printing experience through a complete relook on quality output and not get suckered into a monthly fee service for ink. It’s twenty years in the making. Let the new renaissance begin.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve experienced poor quality with prints and scans. It’s easy to understand why the results you describe would indeed be jarring, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly, and blurred or fuzzy text:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06543527

This same document might also address your scanning issue, if it’s based on the print function rather than the scan itself.

If either problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

We just got this printer becuase we are not heavy users. My wife might print a ups label here and there. If you are a heavy user maybe getting a printer more efficient will be a better option or lazer printer. I rememver having an HP printer and and it was a realy good product. The smart app on this thing compensate the missing screen. But how need an screen with this gorgeous clean looking printer smaller than my previus brother printer and the ink cartridges are priced super reasonable.

I purchased HP ENVY 6455e, paper began to jam, tried to unjam several times. Made and appointment, went to Best Buy> Came early, no one showed for their appointments and Tech took me early. Tech in training had accidently broke piece. After leaving she hadn't checked to see if okay. Printer jammed worse than before. At appointment explained they do not service printers, in home or in store. Tech went to manager and mentioned problem and authorized exchanging printer with a new one. He came back and approved. I wanted to show Tech before I got new one, what/where problem had been and noticed a larger jammed paper that we had not seen before. He had been very helpful and courtious to me all the timein resolving .

The HP Envy is a compact flat paper feeder tray printer. It's easy to install. I had 2 problems with it, 1) The color ink cartridge was defective and it took me quite some time to confirm that with an HP representative. And then it took a week to get the replacement cartridge, so we weren't able to use the new printer for that length of time. 2) There is no window to view what options you have to operate the printer, just icons that light up at times which makes it difficult to understand how to operate the copier and scanner part of the printer.
