I’m so impressed with the HP ENVY 6455e! Setting it up was surprisingly easy—everything synced with my devices in just minutes. The wireless feature is a total game-changer, letting me print from my laptop, phone, or even straight from the cloud without a hitch. The print quality is crisp and clear for both documents and photos. Especially for the price this definitely does the job! The 3-month Instant Ink trial is a lifesaver—I never have to worry about running out of ink mid-project. The HP+ system makes everything super intuitive with helpful notifications and automatic ink delivery. It's like having a personal assistant for printing! This printer is a perfect fit for both work and personal use. Whether I’m printing assignments, recipes, or fun craft projects, the ENVY 6455e handles it all effortlessly. If you're looking for a reliable, efficient, and easy-to-use printer, this is it. HP nailed it!

"Instant" ink my foot!! (Warning: long review, Lol

It's a great printer but the problem with this so-called "instant" ink setup is that if you run out of ink, you're out of luck until you get more ink shipped to you! That is the *opposite* of this instant ink concept that they're peddling here. Its very disappointing. I could go out and buy ink within an hour or two if I needed it instantly. I called "support" and complained about this supposed instant setup which made no sense because they won't send you ink until your bone dry (when the printer itself detects automatically that you're about to run out of ink) which limits you at that point to only just so many pages left to print which means once you use that minuscule amount left on up, you then find yourself without a working printer until they get around just sending you replacement ink about a week or so later which is so absurd. Would you call that instant ink?? The only thing instant about the process is the printer detects on its own (thru built-in sensors in the cartridge) when the ink is about to run out and it will instantly order more ink to be shipped without your intervention at all. That concept may seem great on the surface which attracted me to it but when I found out how the system really works is when I got really disappointed so that's why I'm writing this review. But when I called and demanded that they send me a replacement cartridge so that I could have it on standby as a backup for when I do get low and then immediately thereafter run out, it was like pulling teeth to get them to do it but they actually sent me one color and one B&W cartridge to have on hand for when I do run out. Problem is now, they now have the extra cartridges marked as for me to use when my current ink runs out which is going to present the same problem all over again when the on-hand replacement ink runs out. In other words, I have to call them again and complain like nobody's business that this so called instant ink concept is not instant if I cannot *instantly* replace my cartridge immediately upon running out and to have them send replacements out again for them to be instantly available so there won't be any down time. The support people don't care one bit if you run out of ink. They will argue with you that they can't do it but you have to fight back and explain that I am not about to be without ink in the middle of a project just because of some dumb rule that says I have to abide by HP's preset process to get me back up and running again (like a week or so later!). It's a hassle that I should not have to put up with but it is what it is and I will do it every time I have to. I have a love-hate relationship with this printer but I paid good money for it and I'll use it until it dies. Because I don't use my printer every day but when I do I need to be able to print as much as I possibly can and not have to worry about running out of ink. The cost factor is actually much less than if you were to buy your own ink cartridges so that is a bonus having one of these instant ink printers. I'm not totally against these printers so don't get that idea. I'm just against the joke of a process to get ink to me at their leisure. Almost forgot, if you press the support agent to get ink to you before the cartridges actually run out, if they do it, they will by default send it by standard mail (7-10 days) but if I were you I would demand that they send it by FedEx 2-day shipping which is what they did for me. Aside from that major flaw in the setup, the only other problem I've had is that this printer mysteriously disconnects from the network out of the blue once in awhile and I have to reconnect it which means unplugging the cord for a minute then plugging it back in which has always done the trick. I've been away from home and have tried to print from my phone but it hasn't worked on several different occasions which means I cannot print anything until I get home to reset the printer with the unplugging to reset trick. Nor can anyone else print from their phones to the home printer either obviously. That is a major inconvenience and I'll never know why the printer stops being connected so we have to live with it. I don't see any other way around resetting the printer Network issue other than doing it at home since the so-called tech support can't do anything to help you. When the printer first started this nonsense with disconnecting, I actually called support assuming they would be familiar with this problem but after wasting so much time on the phone with them playing guessing games, I found out that they are clueless and useless. They can't reset the network connection from their end. Only I can from home. The printer does print really good quality prints when it's working which is most of the time but I'm just a little unhappy that I have these issues. Once upon a time, HP used to be one of the best quality products out there but times have changed. HP just isn't the same anymore. Next time I buy a HP product I'll do my research first to find out if it has any kind of issues like I'm going through with this HP printer to help me decide whether I want to bother with it or look elsewhere. On a side note, I wasn't going to write a review for this printer but I got reminded that my points are going to expire which prompted me to then write the review since I've had this printer going on one year now. For the most part, the printer has been great aside from the ink issue and the once in awhile network disconnection. I would say buy one but make sure to keep an eye on the ink level and call them to get ink expedited to you to have it on hand. Thank you for reading my exceptionally long review.

HP - ENVY 6455e Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer with 6 months of Instant Ink Included with HP+ Summary: An adequate inkjet printer with reliable quality and speed. Pros: * Price. Not an expensive printer if you factor in the 6 months of InstantInk. The more you print the more value. * Form Factor. An appropriately sized printer for its functions. * Connectivity. There are various methods to send print jobs to this printer. Bluetooth, AirPrint, and via the networked device. * Mobile App. The mobile app helps you do some frequent things. It is handy, not sure it's necessary, but it is handy. It is a bit wonky in navigating to different pages. In some cases, though, it doesn't know it is open and forces you to log out or close and re-open the app. Cons: * Quality. Print quality isn't great for images. Even on glossy paper. You can very clearly see banding. I tried a few types of paper. * No LCD. I didn't think this was going to be a problem. But it is. The flashing color light is nice as effects, but not as an indicator of status. I have to keep a reference sheet or lookup online or in the app. Not too helpful. A simple LCD would have sufficed. * Setup/Installation. Not easy for someone with low to moderate technical expertise. More on this later. * Price. Also a con. Even though it seems competitively priced, I feel since this is a supply profit-driven product, they could have stood to add that pesky status LCD. * Auto-shipped Ink. Great concept. I was just sent new ink. I'm not sure why. I'm not sure if part of the bundle. I haven't printed many pages so it isn't used. * Auto-shipped Ink! One thing that stood out in the documentation is that ink is sent based on printed pages. Not available ink. So if you print a lot, you'll see ink show up when you need it. I assume then that not printing means you'd see fewer shipments. I would like a notification and a requested approval when this happens. I didn't see anything for the first shipment, but I hope there is one for the next. Not so much an issue while in the 6 months free/included period, but probably something others may not like beyond that. Oh, you'll need to keep a credit card on file with HP, too. If they did notifications/approvals, they could have used Apply Pay or something for subscription or individual approved purchases. * Short-Cuts interface is wonky. It showed all of them grayed out implying they weren't available. But that is just the shading selected for the toggle. I tried configuring the OneDrive shortcut for a "scan to OneDrive" use case. But the permissions HP wants are insane. They want access to anything that the owner of the OneDrive account has access to and that isn't acceptable. I use this type of feature on my Brother MFC (which required replacement) and it was not like that at all. You specify a folder and that is it. Needless to say, short-cuts like these won't be used. I'll have to keep using my more bulky laser printer (in the garage) to scan things to the cloud. Use: The printer performs as expected. I was hoping for a printer my partner could use to work with photos. You know scrapbook, not super high-quality demands. No commercial use. With respect to text-oriented content with limited graphics, it does work great. But when it comes to larger images on various media, it doesn't do as well as I'd hoped. There is banding along with the image. I think I'll have to use my color laser printer for images that require better though not photo-realistic output as think the inkjet printer is not an improvement. Initially, I unboxed the unit and I asked my partner to try and set it up. I wanted to see if someone with low-moderate technical expertise could do it. After 30 minutes, he couldn't. So I stepped in. The instruction can be used, but they aren't so clear - partly because of the light strip indicator. If you're colorblind, this might be a problem. Additionally, it periodically loses connectivity to a wireless router that isn't 10 feet away in the same room. Meanwhile, my workhorse laser printer is on another floor and has no issue. I've owned other HP printers (remember the DeskJets!?), I've even provided technical support for them at one point in my career. These printers don't seem to print better than they do, even if the ink carriage assembly is less bulky. I wish now that I had selected to replace my trust Brother with another Brother. But I thought HP might be something different to try since my inkjet printing needs aren't as demanding. But even considering its multi-function capabilities, I don't think it stands out.

I purchased the HP-Envy 6455e Printer on line. I received it super fast and it was very easy to install. I am happy with the quality of the printing and the printer overall. I had a HP before so I am hoping this one will last as long and do as good as a job as that one. Excellent Price Also!!

This is a great little printer. I bought it quickly because we needed a new printer quickly. This one had great reviews from both customers and on technology/computer websites. We have not been disappointed. Set-up was very easy. It automatically logged into our WiFi, which was great because I can never remember the password. We like the automatic paper feeder. The machine itself is very quiet. We have been able to make good quality copies and print jobs look great, including color photos. We have multiple devices connected to the printer and there has not been any problem - and the others were able to get their portable devices synced as quickly as I got my computer synced. I am very pleased with what I got for the price! The only thing I need to mention is that the printer has a bright light to signal it is on. It isn't too noticeable during the day but at night, woah, it is pretty bright! So if you want this in your bedroom then be prepared to cover it up at night because the light is bright. In our house the printer is in the office, which is right next door to our main bedroom. The on light is bright enough to be the equivalent of two nightlights. Again, not a problem for us but for a college student who doesn't want a nightlight, it may be an issue! I don't know if other printers are the same so you might want to check it out if you see my review and then decide to buy something else. Who knows, other printers may be brighter!?! I signed us up for the printer cartridge thing even though it seems like a scam to me. We will see how it goes. This is a sturdy workhorse and we are very happy with our purchase!

Really excellent printer. Does what it does well. It can be a little technically wonky at times, but that but that could well be Windows. My last printer was an HP. I’ve had Epson and Canon, but nothing compares to HP in my opinion.

Works well, easy to use, right size, good price for my relatively minimal use. I would prefer a separate slot for photo prints instead of having to load-unload-reload paper but there doesn't seem to be any at a reasonable size and price.

I bought this for my son to take to college. The quality of prints is good. It is not too big so it does not require much space in his dorm room. The reason I do not give it 5 stars is that it does not always stay connected to his lap-top in his dorm room.

I found the printer very well design and very aesthetic in terms of size and dimension. It is very easy to use because it doesnt require USB wire connection to the computer. All that is need is to download the software or app. I love that that it prints fast without much noise. I love the fact that it can print from any device.

Awesome for at home. The original ink cartridges did not last very long, 50 sheets to be exact, but the refills seem to be doing a bit better. The print quality is good. Jobs finish fairly quickly. I love the traditional scanner & the photo copy sheet feeder (not sure what the technical name is but it's super convenient. Perfect for making quick photo copies.) Printing from my iPhone is quick and easy. Set up was easy. Only took about 10 minutes from plug in to first print. I'd recommend this as a great at home printer.

Printer difficult to set up. Had to contact HP support. The Hp tech had to use remote service in order to (wireless) connect laptop to printer. Took about 45 minutes to an hour to complete set up. I would not been able to do on my own. Prints faster than my previous printer and there was no problem in producing a very good printed test copy. Printer is much quieter than old printer. I do find it odd that the ON/OFF button is at the back of this printer.

As long as you follow the given instructions along with the smart assist from HP, you are golden. Prints with reasonable speed, difficult to even cause a paper jam much less one that won't take 5 seconds to clear, and very high quality scanner for a printer meant for home use. Only real complaint is that power button is on the back of the printer near the port for the power cord, but that's mostly due to being a little awkward to reach.
