When my HP printer quit printing color I bought a 6500. After about 4 months it quit printing "cartridge failure." After changing cartridges and other tests I spent time chatting with an HP tech. When we could not resolve the problem he gave me a link to an HP service center 1100 miles away and terminated the chat. I cannot recommend this printer or HP service. Canon here I come!

I have been buying hp products for years. The quality has been getting very bad, over the last few years. This last purchase has ended my buying hp. Bought in April 2025 this printer sounds like it is grinding to death. This is just nuts having to replace several times a year. I'm done. Moving on to Brother . The reports on Brother regular cartridge printer have been very good.

If I could give a ZERO, I would. HP Envy 6555e printer bought to replace HP 6830. New printer has tiny cartridges that quickly run out of ink. SLOW. Buy a bigger printer or print at your local library. TOTAL WASTE of MONEY.

I don’t like the way paper loads. The touch pad is difficult to use. Understanding the touch pad symbols is not easy. I would return it for a different printer if I could.

I have bought HP printers and desktops exclusively for years. This was the lowest quality I have ever had. The power plug did not fit snugly, so it was a problem getting power every time I used it. It scanned properly the first two days. After that, it lost internet connectivity and I gave up after trying all troubleshooting tricks. I would not recommend that anyone purchase this item.

Do not buy this printer if you have a Mac. It took 3 hours to set up, including downloading and app, and doing multiple restarts, and so much troubleshooting. And after all that, it won't print from a computer (laptop or desktop), because of an "invalid certificate." Only works from mobile devices. You must pay for HP's customer service and also for Best Buy assistance ($39).

Beyond annoying and overriced ink. Hardly any ink in it. Also completely not intuitive do i no longer like HP. Always baloney when it comes to wifi connection

Ii have owned HP printers all of my life and this is by far the worst I have ever purchased. It keeps losing Wifi signals and will not connect to my laptop two days in a row. I had HP support on the line who downloaded another driver and set my computer up to print, but the very next day, it lost connectivity! Save your money and stay away from this one.

The set up for this printer is terrible!! It took over 2 hours on the phone toget it to work. After 5 days it would not print due to faulty ink cartridges. Spent another 90 minutes on the phone to diagnose problem.HP sent new cartridges which fixed the problem but had to wait 1 week for delivery

I've set up just about every printer brand out there, and HP consistently gets it right. The HP Envy 6555e was easy to install and setup and took me about 10-15 minutes to get it up and running on my Wi-Fi without a single issue. HP always nails the setup process, which is one of the reasons I stick with their products.
When it comes to quality, HP’s Envy line is top of the line. In my opinion, it’s one of the most premium brands for home and consumer printing needs. The design of the Envy 6555e is sleek and elegant (especially for a printer). The goldish tones give it a classy look, and the build quality is excellent—everything is perfectly aligned, and it just feels well-built compared to other brands.
I’m really impressed by the variety of features this printer offers. One of my favorites is the auto-reconnect for Wi-Fi. If the connection is lost or the printer has been off for a while, it reconnects on its own without any hassle—something I’ve never seen in other brands, which usually stay disconnected after a long period of inactivity. Another great feature is that the Envy 6555e is made from 60% recycled material, and you’d never know it. I’m usually worried of quality when recycled materials are involved, but HP proved me wrong here as it feels premium. For connectivity, there’s a USB 2.0 port available (though note that the cable isn’t included), but no Ethernet port. Personally, I think an Ethernet port is more important than a USB 2.0 port, especially in households where a stable wired connection might be preferred. There’s also no USB Type-A or C port, which is a feature I miss for quick printing from a flash drive. However, this is mostly solved with wireless printing from any device, including phones. The document scanner on the top is a required feature for me. It holds up to 35 sheets, which is perfect for scanning documents and making it efficient. The bottom paper tray holds 100 sheets of regular paper. While I wish it held a bit more, I appreciate that it keeps the paper stored out of sight and protected from dust. The colored touchscreen is another must-have for me when selecting a printer, and the screen on the 6555e is a definite upgrade from previous models. It’s small, but it’s high-quality and works really well for navigating through options. Lastly, HP offers a 3-month free trial of their Instant Ink subscription service, which has a variety of plans based on your needs. It’s a great option to explore if you want the convenience of ink delivery before you run out.
The HP Envy 6555e combines solid design, reliability, and great features, making it an excellent choice for home or small office use.

Ran out of ink and won't accept a new authentic HP cartridge. Printers in general already have too many points of failure and HP created another one in the software restricting choice of cartridges, and in this case blocked it's own cartridge. It is unusable now.

The printer hasn't worked since the first day I set it up. It's cheaply constructed, all fragile components that are easily breakable. Spend more money and buy a better printer.
