Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the ENVY Desktop's performance, ease of use, and ample storage, frequently praising its speed and the inclusion of both an SSD and a hard drive. Many appreciate the value for the price and the quiet operation. However, some customers expressed difficulty adapting to Windows 10, and a few found the desktop's size to be somewhat large. The sleek design was also a point of positive feedback from some users.

I bought this computer as an open box item. It was missing several things but not a big deal because the manager knocked off a couple of hundreds off the price. It is extremely fast and easy to use.

After seeing this computer on sale I researched and compared other similar computers. I like the 12 kb RAM, the large hard drive and my requirement that the computer have at least an Intel i5 processor. One negative is the keyboard. The size has been reduced by almost 15% and the zero on the numeric keyboard has been shrunk from a 2-key width to a 1-key width. For regular numeric keyboard users this makes one look at the keyboard to make sure you press the zero key and not the right arrow key. This slows down entry for spreadsheet applications. I will be buying a replacement keyboard. Additionally, the wireless mouse is quite large for smaller hands and requires extra pressure to click either side. I will also be replacing the mouse.

First, I am not a gamer nor a heavy user. I upgraded the SSD from 128 to 250G, and it proved a wise decision. I am very pleased with the product performance and even moreso with the Best Buy support and service.

I needed a computer to replace my older laptop and it needed to be able to do heavy image processing. I was hoping to get the latest I7, but had to purchase something before expected and ended up getting this computer. I have had it for a few weeks not and so far I have no regrets. It is fast and responsive even with my image editing software. It is not the fastest, but it is faster and more responsive than I thought it was going to be. I can open several browser windows, Lightroom, Photoshop and Capture One without missing a noticeable beat. Microsoft Office runs as smooth as I have ever seeing it run. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a pc for home or doing a similar workload.

Love the quick fire ups from the solid state drive! But not so enthusiastic about Windows 10 and how slow it is to find files sometimes. W10 doesn't work the best with older Outlook either and I dont like W10, ughh , but will have to get used to it I guess.

The addition of the solid state drive to hold Windows and the operating files of the different programs results in start up from power off to full operating mode in SECONDS. Amazingly fast!

128G solid state drive is fast (boots Windows 10 in <10sec) and more than adequate for operating system and main programs. Other programs and data fit well on 1TB HD. A great home desktop.

I purchased this computer for business needs. It is speedy, handles everything I throw at it, and allows me to have as many windows open as I need at a time and doesn't slow down.

I've only had this a few days, and it's ok so far. Download speeds are slower than I expected (I have all high end routers and high speed Cable internet). Overall the processing speeds seem adequate. One thing I have a big problem with is the drive separation/default save settings. The OS is on C (just over 100G available with OS being about 56G), open space for date is on D (just under 900G of space available), E is recovery and F is disc drive. By default everything saves to the C drive (I didn't realize this). After dropping in personal files like music, pics and docs I got a warning that the computer was slowing down because the drive was almost full. I had to go in and change all of the save settings and transfer all the files over from C to D drive. After that all was ok. It's flat out stupid that the factory doesn't default to save to the drive that was meant for saved data. My second issue is with the USB and other "available" ports. While it does present a cleaner finish (they are hidden by a "lip" off the front, they're inconvenient to access if you have anything over top of the computer (like most desks will have). I had to reconfigure my desk to provide access to the top of the computer, and even then I barely have enough room to reach those ports. I have to feel around to find them. I hope in the future they go back to just having little doors provide the cleaner finish so the ports are more user friendly. Overall I still feel this is a decent computer as far as functionality and have had pretty good experiences with HP in the past. I feel this computer is decent enough for the average user such as myself who mostly does basic processing and video watching. I am not a gamer therefore I couldn't give an accurate review on how well that works. This computer does support 2 monitors (HDMI).

This Desktop is good for my office, it is faster than the old computer we had. I think it's due to the SSD installed. When I wanted to purchase another one the promotion has passed, ending up buying a similsr refurbished one.

HP Envy was purchased to replace a computer that died. Easy to set up the hardware. Came with Windows 10. Up grade to Windows 10 was pretty painful. Had to rebuild all my work processes. Offered One Cloud, but did not tell you it would take over your machine and relocate all your restored files to the cloud. Said files would be accessible from new machine, but they are not on the new machine. Files are now in the cloud. Oh, BTW the won't fit on the free One Cloud space you must purchase more to continue the restore. Kind of a sneaky way to sell cloud storage. I started the restore over rather than pay the Cloud ransom. Unless you want to move all your files to One Cloud, decline the offer to Synch to One Cloud. The Best Buy tech was great. Very helpful in selecting a replacement machine.

The SSD makes a big difference, and it does not lag, HP nailed the design all usb connections are hidden and not on the front. when you open the dvd player that is all there is, this would be helpful if they showed this view.
