    Good HP Envy PC

This PC is pretty good. It runs fast enough for most applications, but I don’t know how it would handle games. It comes with built in graphics, but you can insert a different graphic card. However, the slot for the graphics card is too small for my taste.

Good all around everyday PC. A bit pricey but a solid platform to do most tasks. More than capable of anything but higher end gaming or video processing, but you could always add a video card if you needed to.

    Excellent PC … specification issue.

This computer is lightning fast. One terabyte of SSD is more than sufficient. Setup was extremely easy. I’m knocking off one star for the following reason: I saw the spec’s for this online. One of the features was a DVD drive. I went to my Best Buy store personally and ordered the PC, brought it home and noticed right away that there was no optical drive. Returned to the store; showed them there was no DVD drive; long story short: the manager was very helpful; allowed me to select an external DVD drive of my own choosing, deducted the price of that drive from the price of the computer. So, for the inconvenience of making a second trip to Best Buy … 4 stars, not 5. PS. I notice the current spec’s shown on Best Buy’s website for this PC no longer show it having an optical drive. Well, nobody else has to be inconvenienced in the future.

    NO DVD DRIVE

Real east to set-up, no lag time. Only thing is, when I went into the store to purchase, told salesperson I wanted to be sure the computer had a dvd drive. He showed the floor model of this computer and it did have the dvd drive. But it wasn't until a week later when I finally had a chance to set-up the computer, there is no dvd drive. I read other reviews saying the exact same thing, no dvd drive. So either update your website with the correct description pertaining to this model or maybe customers may have to open the boxes to actually see what's in the box, hmmmm.

Good Hp product but not great for the artist.

Good. Very good for anyone looking for business and home activities. Excellent speed and is very quiet can’t even hear it running. This is a excellent HP device for the regular user that does streaming, web browsing, runs multiple pages, emails, fax work, office and little bit of photo editing, this is great for you. I decide to return it because I am a heavy photo editor and the graphics card doesn’t do it justice for me. But don’t let my photo editing career sway you from buying this. If your a regular user and want something fast, reliable , soundless and latest technologies. This is definitely top of the list. But , if your a heavy photo editor, lots of rendering and need consistent high intensity demand look for higher graphics cards and ram. Look to pay around $2K plus . Again , the normal everyday user will have no complaints this is excellent for you, but for the artist that needs high demand at consistent levels. Look for those with higher graphics cards and prepare to pay over $2K.

This pc is absolutely perfect for folks that need a little more CPU power but aren't planning to do heavy gaming. It's quiet, with just a faint noise when on. You can add a sata SSD to it for extra storage and it even has the cable inside. It comes with an nvme m.2 SSD. You can also add a second DDR4 chip to increase the RAM. I've upgraded to 32GB. It has a PCIe slot available also. The integrated graphics on the 10700 chip are able to play some older games like counter strike with no problem, even at 1440p. Most games would run better at 1080p though on this. The onboard HDMI port seems to support up to 4k@30hz. I tested out the windows install that came with it. It had windows 10, and a minimal amount of software installed. It did have a mcafee trial and dropbox and a few HP utilities. Not too bad though. I elected to format it and put ubuntu linux on it and it's working great.

I went into my local store to purchase the PC model just under this one... same Processor, same RAM capacity, only a smaller SSD drive. I was told by the kind salesperson that it was unavailable, but this machine was the SAME as what I was looking for, only it had a 1TB SSD drive. Five days later when I received it via UPS, I unpacked it only to find that it did not have an optical drive. Weird. I needed one to load some software that I use on the machine. Based on a few other reviews I read on this product, many others seemed to be as surprised as I was. Anyway, because of the confusion, the manager at my local store included an external optical drive in my original package price and all is well. The machine works great for my needs: Fast start up and no hiccups. Thank you Best Buy for treating me like family.

I perform a lot of bioinformatic analysis, most of it is on the cloud but some is done locally. This generation of the i7 can run laps around my 6th generation i7. It might not have an optical drive, but almost nothing does anymore and the bundle with an external drive was awesome! I don't think it's up for high impact gaming, but if you need high end computation short of gaming (and consequently want to save about a thousand bucks in the process), then this desktop becomes a great choice.

Excellent PC ! It's fast and very quiet . I love that the Blu tooth keyboard and mouse comes with it. I'm already putting in another 1 TB internal drive for all the video work i will be doing ! It's nice and neat on my desk. I have a blu ray burner that I can use now because of the nine usb ports that it has. And that USB C port is just icing on the cake !!!

    Solid State Drive speed

Very easy setup, HP has always made it a breeze to get setup. Just have patience as it gets started, the screen doesn’t change right away but when it’s done you’re ready. The solid state drive is the only way to go, so much faster than a rotating disk. Don’t look inside, it’s mostly empty space (the desktop form factor hasn’t changed in decades) but it is all the power advertised. Make sure you have the right (old) cable for your monitor since the graphics processing is embedded.

Great home desktop that should last a while

This is a good desktop, I'm sad to see that's it says it's no longer available for people to purchase new. With its 8-core i7 processor, 16GB DIMM in one slot (with another slot available so you can double the memory, which I did), M.2 SSD, and room to add 2-3 2.5/3.5-inch drives inside, it's suited to what I need it to do and should be for a few years. It's not a high-end workstation, but it works for editing and streaming video and still has enough power to be used for other things while it's streaming.

    A/V implementation

This HP serves as the basis for our church's A/V system, and it has performed perfectly. We use it in a two monitor system with the program running on the left screen, and the display output on the right. We then use Chromecast to display on the respective monitors in the sanctuary. Works great in all respects...

I love how fast this computer is. The only issue I had was I asked a service representative of this computer could run my flight simulator and she told me yes. I come to find out that I needed an upgrade to run the flight simulator properly. If I had know other upgrades were needed; I would have purchased another computer instead of this one. I wish they would train the service representatives better.

This is the fifth HP desktop or laptop that we have purchased and they are all still working. This is the only one with an SSD boot drive and it makes a great difference startup and shut down times. The 1TB storage is limiting but adding a large hard disk was easy. One thing that is missing from all available documentation, is that there are no pictures of the motherboard and the various connections on the motherboard. This would be useful for connections for signal and power for additional storage.

I love this computer but having to learn about having 2 drives...the SSD and HD. It is still somewhat confusing, but this is a very fast good computer. I recently bought another one for the office which seems to be the same computer just a different version and it only has the SSD drive, much easier.

Purchased this as a replacement for a 13 year old desktop that died. When my assistant got it up and running she said it is like lightning. She can’t even have a swig of coffee before it’s ready to go. She’s also in heaven at the ease it handles her two new monitors. Great purchase and the geek Swedish a good job resurrecting almost all the stuff on the two old drives.

Pretty fast computer. Turns on instantly right after press power button. The audio you need a headphone to plug in or speakers. The desktop tower itself doesn’t play music but has an audio jack for headphones or speakers. Pretty nice wireless mouse and keyboard combo , but it only has one usb for both mouse and keyboard They both need two triple A batteries, the package comes with 4 triple A batteries so your covered. Free mcafee trial for 30 days 1 year of drop box 25gb storage Really easy to set it up took like 5 minutes
