Purchased this printer after my HP Photosmart 7500 eventually couldn't pick up paper. This was on sale for $59 and with my HP trade-in, I was able to save an additional 15% off. This is my 3rd HP Envy model. I also own 2 older HP Envy 4501 printers and both have been solid. This one is the same. Minimal in style, but has all the basic features as my previous Photosmart without the automatic feeder. But let's face it, printers are cheap... INK is not!

I've usually had bad luck with printers, but no issues with this one. It was easy to set up and get connected online. I've had no connectivity issues between my PC or Android phone. Printing quality has been great. Pictures print great. This printer can be used with HPs Instant Ink program and I signed up for that service. Since I don't print all that many pages, I have been on the free program and can print 15 pages per month at no cost and I will never have to pay for ink...genius.

It has been very difficult and headache causing to try and print from a computer. I have only been successful by using my phone to print. Overall, it is quick, scanner is great, and ink does not run out too fast

Overall performance: Average for the price point. Pros: Cheap and reliable, once you know it's quirks. Cons: 1. Manual wake-up sometimes required, When I go to print and it's asleep, sometimes it wakes up and prints, then returns to sleep at the timed setting. Other times it requires a manual push of the Power button when you need to get it awake and responsive after sleeping for too long. 2. WiFi connection occasionally drops when asleep. After sleeping for too long, the WiFi will sometimes drop. However, during the entire time that the printer was asleep - nothing else in my office dropped connection: two laptops, a desktop, two smartphones and a tablet (half of them asleep). ***BTW*** that desktop will be wired soon, then I am getting docking stations for the laptops and they will be wired as well. Our house will be streaming NFL on a Firestick, Netflix on another Firestick, Amazon Music on a tablet or another Firestick and YouTube on one of the laptops or multiple videos going on the desktop all at the same time, no drop... but the printer will disconnect after having slept for a couple of hours or days, and sometimes (although it is rare) even during printing, I have gotten used to just pushing the Power button to manually wake it and it will usually connect to WiFi. If it does not, a full Power cycle does it. 3. PAPER TRAY CAPACITY. During house-hunting and buying process (quite a bit of paperwork to print) I wish I got a printer with a larger paper tray. IF you buy this printer, make sure you're okay with having a stack of paper right next to printer out in the open, cuz you'll be grabbing it in thin stacks and sliding it ever so gently into the base slot very, very frequently. Do I recommend this printer? For under $80 - yes. Any more - no.

I bought this printer because of its ability to print pictures as well as documents. I've had a hard time figuring out how to set the printer to print photos the way I want them. I have not figured out why I can't manually change the margins other than telling it to narrow them or widen them which is really frustrating. Hopefully it's just my inability to figure out electronics & I'll get there. Otherwise, it prints documents clearly & it's pretty quiet, too.

I got this printer mostly because the salesman said it would print good photos. He was right, they’re great. It’s a bit slow but since it’s for a hobby and I’m not in any rush it suits my needs perfectly

I purchased the HP Envy 6255 in August, 2018 to replace a 8 year old HP 8500 Office jet Pro. The setup including wireless connection took approximately 20 minutes. Wireless printing and copy feature has functioned flawlessly. I have also successfully printed documents from my Android phone. Printer is fairly quiet. I It is too early for me to comment on ink consumption, however I can say that the printer is an excellent value for the price I paid.

The HP Envy Photo 6255 is an excellent home printer. My only regret is that it does not have fax capability, but most transaction requiring fax today also accept emails so the lack of a fax in a small inconvenience. Overall it does the job for what I need and it's quality is very good. This is the latest of several HP printers that I have owned over the years and I love it's ease of use.
