I got the HP Envy 7155 just in time to start school. My older Envy 120 which still worked great but I wanted an upgrade but keep the same functionality of being able to scan and one touch copy. The Envy 7155 is an All-in-One printer meaning it should be able to do anything you need it to. When you first unbox the printer, you immediately notice the rose gold accent and the matte black scheme. My two favorite colors, coincidentally my 2009 Yamaha R6 is the same color scheme with the performance to rival any motorcycle, did I just compare the Envy 7155 to my Yamaha R6? Setup was pretty simple, I followed the on screen (built-in LCD) and put in my WiFi setting, after setting that up it prompted me for computers to go to the HP setup website and finished install on my laptop. For mobile devices you don't need to do that but you will need to install the HP Mobile printing app, which I already had from my Envy 120. The built-in LCD did have a little trouble recognizing my selections when i touch the language or inputted my WiFi setting. Otherwise the setup was very easy and intuitive. Printing performance is great, this thing is a beast when I printed full page picture of night sky I recently took. I was very surprised how fast it printed the full page picture. The blacks looked great, there was a bit of a moire pattern on the print but as a disclaimer I did went out of my way to print under the "DRAFT" setting when the print prompt settings came up. I also printed a past paper just to see how crisp and clean the text would come out and I'm very happy with the clean and on point text.

Certain aspects of inkjet printers are consistent enough from product to product to facilitate a review - setup routine, print speed, form factor. In these respects this HP printer is better than many I've used over the years. I skipped the manual's setup procedure on the computer by not doing it through the HP software but rather through the printer's on-screen steps, which was very simple - the same as setting up any wireless device on my network. The printer detected the network right off, with the router in another room, even. The print speed seems the same as my older Canon MX inkjet, so no gain or loss there. The form factor is very much nicer than any I've used - it seems hefty, but is smaller than the Canon MX it is replacing. The internal design (ink bays and paper trays) seemed intuitive. I didn't have any trouble getting around in the paper trays, though they seem hidden at first. Installing the ink was straightforward. Two things that would really make this printer different is the life of the ink - it will take time and use to determine that - and functionality other than desktop use. Right away remote printing through email is functional, and I get a decent print of a photo on my Android phone using the HP app for that. With the app I also get printer monitoring capability. Since I use my phone more and more for device controls (streaming media devices and tv/audio control), this fits in well enough with my needs. So far, I like this printer (no frustration with it yet).but that is without the added layer of complications of proprietary printer software on my Windows computer. All my programs (Word, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc) print just fine natively and I don't need proprietary printer software gumming up the works and NAPS2 is a good, lightweight, open source scanning utility.

HP Envy Photo 7155. I print black and white documents a lot and this printer does a pretty good job printing clear text and prints it quickly. I had some trouble with photo printing where it cuts off parts of the image but the print quality was pretty good. It was just like the prints from Walmart. That's pretty good right? I like the duplex printing capability but it does not have duplex scanning, no document feeder. This can also print from smart devices using Apple's Airprint or HP's ePrint. ePrint lets you email a document or photo directly to your printer. Convenient when you're away and you need to print. Just remember that the pages will on the floor when you get home because you forgot to extend the paper catcher. I used AirPrint and it just works. You can also use HP's HP Smart app that is available for both iOS and Android devices. Didn't care too much for the touchscreen because it is not very responsive. Pros: - Solidly built. No cheap plastics here. - Only 2 ink cartridges to deal with. - Prints from smartphones and tablets Cons: - Slow start-up. It takes about a minute until all mechanical noises stop and wifi status is ready. It does have a stand-by mode. - I was not able to print a picture on the 5x7 photo paper that came with it without parts of the image being cut off (using Apple devices). Colors was a bit off too. - If the paper catcher is not extended, all the printed pages ends up on the floor. - Size matters I guess. It has a big footprint, takes up a lot of space on the desk. - No document feeder - It's referred to as an All-In-One but it does not have faxing capabilities. Who still faxes anyways? - Touchscreen not so touchy, more like punchy Overall, I am pretty pleased with this printer. This is the newest printer in the 7100 series and I am sure there will be some future firmware and software updates that will make this printer better.

I hear a lot of complaints about how hard HP printers are to set up. I honestly don't know what they're talking about. This printer was ridiculously easy. All I had to do was download the HP Smart app, and after setting up the printer according to the instructions, the app led me through the whole process, including helping me connect the printer to wifi and setting me up with HP's Instant Ink. The Smart app does everything for you, which is good, because the printer's touchscreen is horrible. HP brags about its size and the fact that it's a color screen, but really it's still too small to be useful, and on top of that it's not very responsive. Navigating menus takes multiple attempts at swiping and also going back because the touchscreen incorrectly thought I selected something. From there, I only had to download printer drivers for my computers and I was good to go. HP's instructions in that sense are not helpful, as the Smart app leads you to believe that no driver download is necessary. Lastly, I set up the printer with Alexa support. This is mostly a gimmick for now, but with a lot of potential. You can ask the printer to print certain types of paper, such as lined or graph paper, your Alexa lists, and coloring pages. The downside is that you can't specify a particular type of coloring page. If HP adds support for that, or for printing documents by name, it would be much more useful.

I've used printers from virtually every manufacturer but this was my first from HP. It was good overall but does have some flaws that kept me from giving it higher marks. Pros: -Prints high quality photos (see picture) and regular documents -Scan/copy works well -HP has integrated an optional ink subscription service that will ensure you always have fresh ink on hand Cons: -The printer comes with a few blank 4x6's. I loaded them in the printer and attempted to print a photo from the HP app on my phone. The app seemed to default to 5x7 and I could not figure out how to change this setting either in the app or on the printer itself. This resulted in my printed photo being off-center (see picture), although it was high quality in detail. I hope a future update to the printer/app will fix this. -The touch screen interface on the printer was small, imprecise when making selections, and the layout is not intuitive This printer is decent overall, but you may be able to find better out there.

Great printer! The negative reviews of printer being noisy and shakes are bogus. Most if not all inkjet printers make a little noise and shake from the movement of the cartridges going back and forth. Bought this model to replace a 5700 series officejet. This model is a lot quiter and operates more smoothly. The setup directions are very vague in the manual but if you just go to the web site it becomes more clear and easier! The touch screen is a little bit of a pain as it says in one review i read saying you have to push harder than you should for it to register. When printing photos make sure you put the paper in the right way or it will come out discolored and blotchy! You have to manually pull out the paper catcher or it will fall on the floor! My 5700 series automatically kicked the catcher out when it started printing! Overall happy with this printer.

Had this for a month and it is a nice compact printer that does a decent job with both plain paper and photo paper. It has dual paper trays, one for smaller sized photos and one for standard paper. Odd thing is getting the to the features of this printer for settings. You need to open an app or find a link that is well hidden in the control panel in Windows under the installed printer list. There you can select the paper tray you want and other settings. Scanner works well also. No document feeder so it is one page at a time manually. Wireless set up was easy and it broadcasts its own WiFi network. Annoying because other devices pick up the printer's WiFi and try go on the internet, which doesn't work.

    Replacement for old model

I have been a fan of HP printers for years. This is replacing an All-in-One printer that I have had for many years. The main reason I chose this one was the ability to print via blu-tooth so that when my children home from college could print from their laptops. This seemed complicated to setup for me, and it is a bit unforgiving in the printing choices. On the old machine, if I wanted to print a picture, I could choose to simply print it on regular paper. With this one, I can’t override that. Maybe there is a way and I don’t know it, but it is a frustration. Great printer overall. I have yet to use all of the functions such as the scanning and copying function so I can’t speak to those.

I bought this printer hoping to take advantage the 5-month free HP smart ink promotion. The printer works as intended for printing, copying, and scanning. I especially like that photos have vivid colors that please eyes. However, the ink cartridge that came with the printer only lasted a short time, maybe 15 4x6 photos. The Instant ink is a good alternative if you print a lot of color photos. However, the 5-month free promotion is not straightforward and was not automatically applied to my account during set-up. I had to call customer service to get it fixed, which took about 40 min.. By the end of day, it is still a good printer for everyday use.

This 7155 HP printer was a very good deal as far as purchase price. It was easy to set up and hook up to the wireless configuration. Printing and copying in black-and-white and color both work flawlessly. Haven't use the scanning option yet. My only concern so far is that this printer gobbles up colored ink. I will be using nonproprietary replacement cartridges in the near future as the HP replacement cartridges are rather pricey. Other than that, it is a solid printer if you don't do high-volume printing.

I’ve had this printer for over a month and so far I really like it! The setup was relatively easy (assuming you are at least moderately tech savvy). The color prints are really nice and I’ve had no problems with the paper feed. I will say that the ink included only lasted 2 weeks. I decided to do the instant ink program and I love it! The only thing I don’t like about this model is that the paper catcher doesn’t automatically come out. I realize that on most printers that is standard, but a friend of mine has the cheaper model and I was really impressed with that feature.

We started out unable to set this printer up because it gave us the "Do not use set up cartridges" error. That leaves one helpless. HP support recommended that we just return the printer and get a replacement. Best Buy was quick to do so without any reservation. I appreciate that. The second one did set-up without a hitch. I am not a fan of having to use an app to get it connected to my computer because I do not have a smart phone. However, the manual configuration worked. Although we've only had it a few days, we are pleased with the print speed and quality so far.

well, our printer printed itself out after 13 years so off to Best Buy to see what's new. Hubby wanted a wireless one this time and did you know that if you re-cycle your old one, you get 15% off your new purchase? we didn't either. tee hee. so, we purchased our brand new printer, and then returned the next day with our old one. as of right now, we both like it--it works not only off his phone, but also off an i-pad. modern technology is wonderful.

Prints both regular print jobs and photos very well. It is nice to print photos wirelessly from my iPhone and it selects the photo paper automatically because there are two trays. One for photo paper and the other for regular size paper. Scans well too. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because it is a flat scanner and on rare occasions I need to scan a legal page. I didn't think of that when I purchased because my last printer had a feeder and it would recognize the difference.

I had to buy a new printer for my new computer. I had the HP photosmart and it still worked like a charm, however we had to get a new printer that runs with Win 10 and I decided to go with HP again. The newer printers are just not the same quality. The HP - ENVY Photo 7155 Wireless printer works fine, a little noisy and sounds like it is a little aggressive with the paper, but it works fine. I have not printed a photo yet, but documents come out nice.

I upgraded to this model from the 5660. They are very similar in appearance and function. One disappointing feature was that the tray does not automatically eject when you send something to print. So you have to manually pull the tray out or papers will go flying when they come out. I was able to switch those pieces between the two models and it fits and works.

The HP Printer brand is the only brand name I have ever felt compelled to purchase. Our last model was similar in price and was being used daily. The new model doesn't respond as fast for printing from a computer. Has more features that are not needed for the uses I have for the unit. Over all it does get the job done, but I will keep an eye out for the last model again if that could be an option.

Not the best printer I've ever had, but it's the best I've had in this price range. A little slow, and while image quality is definitely good, I've been used to high-end color laser printers over the past few years, and this doesn't touch that level of quality. Wireless functionality has given me no trouble whatsoever on both Mac and PC, and the ink refills aren't all that expensive.

priced fairly at store. best part is how simple, quick and no frustration to getting the printer up and running. does a great job of printing text. printing color photos is also notably good. Only negative is that having 3-in-1 color cartridges is definitely not desirable, especially since entire cartridge needs to be replaced if one color gets low/emptied.

I needed to replace an ancient, by today's standards, HP printer and after doing some research chose this one. I was concerned due to the high percentage of negative reviews but went ahead and I'm glad I did. So far it's been as advertised. My previous model produced better pictures but this one is fine just not quite as good. Based on my own experience, I'd recommend this printer for all around family use.
