Love the printer but doesn't always print right away and get a message that printer is off line but printer will make some noise and after about 1/2 hour it will print.

This printer was easy to set up, and its connectivity to the wireless network and iPhones has been seamless. I like that it's optional for HPs Instant Ink program (not required). My only objection is to how loud it sounds when it prints! It makes a grinding/humming sound about twice as loud as my last HP printer. I'd think it was mis-functioning, but the print quality is excellent.

The printer keeps going off line and I can't determine why. Also, sometimes it is very noisy when it prints.

      Hello,

I'm sorry to find out that you haven't been getting great photos from your printer!

There are several steps that can improve the print quality in this online document: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385

While it is powered up, the printer makes sure the nozzles are cleared regularly (that can be noisy, particularly if the printer is on a hard surface).

Please don't hesitate to contact us for any concerns you might have: hp.com/contacthp

I like all the new technology that comes with the Envy. Has easy to use touch screen. All is good, except my printer makes a funny loud noise before printing (which is quiet). Tech support tried to resolve this issue, but it still makes a concerning noise. Need to address this further.

I purchased this printer when my old Photosmart died. This one is not quite as vibrant but good enough for most jobs. It is VERY loud when printing - I think in part due to the tray that extends when you print. Overall - it does the job.

We love this printer. Easy to setup with iOS devices. It is a little loud but we keep it in a side office so we don't notice it too much but at the same time we can hear it print which allows us to know it actually printed. Also it does not come with an USB cable to connect directly but that's not an issue to us. Overall we love this printer!!

Great printer, the HP Envy Photo 7855. Works great, just one glitch, after so many months it will leak ink and make strange noises when printing. BestBuy did exchange my printer, I was fortunate to get the same model as it does a great job for color on cards. Informed Geek Squad of the problem and it is being forwarded to see how the issue can be resolved. Did this on 2 of them. No problem with exchange.

I bought an HP Envy Photo 7855 in January, 2018. Big mistake. Out of the box it had a hardware problem, HP replaced it with a refurbished that lasted 8 months and then broke. I just got the second replacement, turned it on and made a noise like a cement truck. I'm told it's a hardware problem. Three printers in less than 9 months. They want to give me a $130 credit at HP.com but I don't really want another HP product. Pure junk.

      Hey Hank,

I'm tremendously sorry to hear that you've experienced issues with all three printers. I can certainly understand how disappointing this experience has been. We always hold ourselves to a high standard of quality with our printers, so I hope you’ll allow us an opportunity to stand by that in the future.

Despite this experience, I hope that you'll allow us an opportunity to help you find one that better suits your needs going forward. We'd love a chance to make things right with the consistent experience that we intended on providing from the start.

First off, right off the bat, I've to say that this is by far the easiest printer setup process I've ever done! . Whats in the box: not much. The printer, some small in cartridges, and some setup guides. Features: Quite a few. Wifi, bluetooth, USB ports, ADF feeder, flatbed scanner, separate photo paper tray, fax (who faxes these days? @@@@@@@ Setup: like I said, VERY easy! I've set up many a printers in my days, and this one is a cakewalk. You plug it in, put the ink in, goto 123. hp.com and type in what kind of printer you have....and via magic (or low power bluetooth.....) it does everything else. No clumsy wifi setup on the printer itself, no searching and digging for software....it just does it for you. I've both mac and PC at my house, and it worked flawlessly on all of them to get it set up and running. There is also an Android and iOS app that allows you to to printer settings and print photos as well. Use: I noticed that when printing a picture from my iPhone via AirPrint, the crop was WAY off. Once I printed from the HP app on my phone, it worked just fine. The scanner works very quickly, with nice results. The printer is plenty fast, and doesn't do many "noise of my people" noises when you would like to print....it just prints. Cons: It comes with small in cartridges, which forces you to get new ones fairly quickly. This printer does have the new instant ink features, and I'm signed up, but haven't received new cartridges yet. I'm not sure about the value of instant ink...but it seems ok (basically $3.99 a month for the cheapest one, and you get new ink when the printer says you need more ink. You can print unto 50 sheets per month with this package). Of note: it was making a very loud grinding noise when I first started using it. I opened and closed every compartment I could think of, and the noise went away. The printer only has a tricolor ink, and a black ink. So once the tricolor runs out of a single color, you have to get an entire new cartridge. Photo print quality is not bad. Not the best, but not the worst either.
