With their new direct ink thing they have going on, you’re buying this expensive printer then you have to pay per page that you print, and even if you still have ink left, THAT YOU'VE ALREADY BOUGHT, you can’t use the printer unless you purchase more pages. Imagine buying your car, filling it up with gas, and half way through your drive the car shuts off and says “contact Honda to purchase more miles”

This one stays connected all of the time! The controls are a little difficult to figure out but I just got online and printed out the instructions so I don't have to guess for the few times that I want to use it as a copier or do other tasks with it.

Usually the store is stocked well with choices but I don't think any store is at capacity since the pandemic. However, I needed a printer and was able to purchase one that meet my needs even though few choices.....not the fault of the store.

There are glitches, which are somewhat annoying, but the auto feeder works only about 50% of the time for single document loads. For multiple document loads, it works 0% of the time!!! This was NOT an open box purchase. Ordered it brand new and I'm returning it today. It's a PIECE OF JUNK!

The extreme frustration you express is easy to understand, considering that the feeder worked only half the time for single documents and not at all for multiple-page print jobs. You write that you intend to return the printer to the retailer. If you’ve not yet done that, I hope you’ll investigate the resources I’ve included below aimed at helping you resolve the issue.
First, I recommend you follow the steps in this guide to document feeders that fail to pick up any paper or pull through too many pages at once:
