Customers enjoy the ENVY Pro 6455's high-quality prints and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and straightforward setup. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a display screen was also a point of concern for several customers. Positive feedback also centered around the printer's quiet operation and reasonable price.

Upon first glance, this printer is sleek, slim, and modern compared to other printers I’ve owned in the past. I always appreciate nice product aesthetics as this is a piece of equipment that will likely be displayed on your bookcase or desk. This fits the bill!
This printer was really easy for me to set up to use on my Mac and PC. It prints wirelessly and it is fast! I printed a 50-page report for work, and it was pretty fast! The document contained many color figures and graphs, and they all printed flawlessly and sharp. The 6 months of free ink is very welcomed since ink is always so expensive to buy, and I print a lot!
While this printer does not have a screen to control functions, everything is controlled via the app which works very nicely on my iPhone. I used the scanner to scan a few old photos of my grandparents and it rendered flawlessly. So far, I’m loving this printer. It is a huge upgrade from my old HP and works flawlessly.
One thing that I was not happy with is Tri-Color Ink cartridges. What this translates into is, that if one color runs out, your out of luck. Entire cartridge needs replacing and in essence you are not getting the fullest use of remaining ink color which are left over in the cartridge. My other observation was the small size of the ink cartridges.
This is a good budget, entry level printer. It lacks some of the bells and whistles of other printers that I've used in the past, but for home use it fits the bill.

Very nice printer with a funky setup

Let's start at the beginning, with the setup. The physical setup was a snap. It unpacks quickly, and protective sheets slide right out. There are only two print cartridges, black and color, and they click in place easily. I was happy to see that the cartridges were designed to eliminate ink leakage into my hands, an issue I always have with my Canon.
Network setup was a mixed bag. First, you cannot set up the printer through the standard Windows process, but must download and use the HP app. This is an inconvenience, and as you will see later, may not work for your PC. Because there is no screen on the printer, it requires that you connect via a USB cable (not included) to set up the network. With your permission, it can read the network password from your PC and automatically apply it to the printer, a nice touch. Once this is done, you disconnect the cable, and the printer appears on the network. After this, things can get weird. You add the printer to the app, however, this process took several attempts before the app recognized the printer. Once recognized, everything worked fine.
Setting up the printer on a second, work-supplied, computer proved problematic. The app looks for a virtual version of the printer rather than the physical device that Windows can see. The app could not find the virtual printer through its standard search, even though Windows could see the physical version. Entering the IP address allowed the APP to locate the physical printer, however, it gave an error attempting to add it. Diagnosing it as a conflict with the security software, I disconnected all firewall software temporarily, but the problem did not resolve. I still cannot get it to work from this machine.
The iOS app works well, and my mobile devices were able to locate the printer and print easily.
The app tries to get you to sign up for automatic ink refills, which makes little sense given the availability of overnight shipping. I suppose if you want to be certain that you never run out of ink in the middle of the night, this is a service you might want.
The FAX feature is not a FAX connection, but a virtual FAX service. Given how few FAXes I send or receive, this approach makes sense. It is free for 24 months, which seems a good deal.
Print quality is excellent, and the printer is quiet. Images are not as sharp as they are on my Canon Pixma, but that unit uses six separate color cartridges, so there's no surprise in this.
Overall, an excellent choice, just be prepared for some small installation glitches, and make sure the app is compatible with your work system.

Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your two printers stopped working so abruptly. It’s no surprised that you’re taken aback, considering this happened to two machines over the course of a few weeks. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll provide a resource and some information aimed at accomplishing that goal.
I can’t fell from your review what issues your printers faced or why they stopped working. I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number: - hp.com/plus-help
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: - support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

It probably works fine but it came with ABSOLUTELY no info on installation or operation. It has NO way to see the buttons unless you have a flashlight. Very difficult to connect - I had to hire geek squad to do it for me. Unless you are young or tech savvy it is extremely hard to use. The most frustrating thing I've ever had to work with.

Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer was so difficult to set up. I can understand why the lack of instructional materials and needing to hire someone to assist you would be an exasperating start to owning a new printer, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.
First, to learn more about your printer and all its features, you can access a setup tutorial (if you still need it) as well as user manuals, troubleshooting guides, how-to documents and software updates for your printer on our support site. Do that by following this link: - support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-pro-6400-all-in-one-printer-series/29256678/model/29256679
You can also visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various tasks and issues, including setup and connectivity. There you’ll also find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning difficulties. You can find the page here: - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics
If you need further assistance, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number - Serial number - Your location - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
