Customers enjoy the ENVY Pro 6455's high-quality prints and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and straightforward setup. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a display screen was also a point of concern for several customers. Positive feedback also centered around the printer's quiet operation and reasonable price.

Significant usage difference with Document Copying

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Isn't there a labeling error in the HP-Envy 6455e All-In-One Printer? Having 3-5 HP All-in-One Printers over 15-20 years, I never had one where a document copied from the printer would emerge in REVERSE page order from the originals. Apparently, those who user their printers predominantly with their computers don't always need the pages from document copying to emerge like they are used to with computer-originated printing. After consulting with two technical people at HP, they finally referred my request to an engineer who recognized that the design of this model did not allow anything but reverse order printing of documents. When you work with large manuscripts or legal documents, it is inconvenient and inaccurate to reverse the order of copied documents. I'm going back to the tried and true designs of the past!

3 Non- working Replacements NEVER RESOLVED ISSUE

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Update!! 3rd Replacement, 8+ hours on the phone with Tech Support, still no remedy to my issue. Their refurbished printers are junk, all 3 didn't work. Calling this week to see if they can just send me a DIFFERENT model. I'm going thru the warrantee. Nightmare! I used to recommend HP but the poor customer service ruined that. My Envy 6455e will be one year old in March 2024. I have spent over 6 hours on the phone with Tech Support, Insta Ink, and they even tried blaming my internet provider to pass the buck. I still have a non-working printer. I have not been able to print in almost a month. I've escalated the call today with a supervisor and they are sending me another set of Ink Cartridges because the last brand-new ones didn't fix the issue. The one-year warranty is a joke, and they continue to send non-working replacements. This will be my 3rd when the ink doesn't fix the issue. The last replacement came dirty with coffee drips on it. I've recommended HP for years but they don't seem to care about their customers. I am now shopping for an Epson printer. Never resolved problem. BUT I'M SO HAPPY WITH MY EPSON 3850!!! My goal is to replace all my home and business HP products.

I keep having issues with my HP envy printers. This is my 3rd one within 4 years. The other two had to be replaced. I don’t use my printer maybe 5 times out of the month.

Not what I expected from HP

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Having had many HP printers, I was expecting more from this one. It doesn't have a touch screen for easy copying. Instead of a simple light to tell you that the printer is on or that it is connected to your wireless network, it has a weird colored light that pulses all across the front of your printer with 4 different colors for different statuses. It appears to be only for wireless printing and won't allow setup using USB connection to your PC. I regret not going to the store and seeing this printer before buying. Luckily, I do not expect it to last long because it is very difficult to turn off, so it will be on all the time. Then I will get another printer that I like better. Oh, and printing seems slow to me.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that you’ve found your printer difficult to use and that it has rendered prints so slowly. Considering that you’ve owned and been satisfied with many HP printers, it’s easy to understand why this would be a surprise as well as a disappointment. I want to help you solve the speed problem and get the most from the device, so I’ll direct you to some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; choose whichever of the following two links matches your operating system:
      - Windows: support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud03409
      - Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01928898

Also, often just updating the firmware can help improve print speed. You can find out how to do that here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02919168

To learn more about your printer, or for help solving problems, you can find user manuals, how-to documents, troubleshooting guides and software updates for your printer here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/product/model/2100187516

If any problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

    Peak embodiment of late capitalism

Disconnects from wifi and always has issues on the rare occasion I am forced to use it. Had to download no less than 2 apps to print anything at all, plus had to download the app on my laptop as well to print from there. HP will try to get you to subscribe to their ink delivery service and sign away your right to use any other brand of cartridges. Unscrupulous and predatory business practices.

    Works when it wants to

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It started off great, print jobs with no errors, communication between the app and the printer. That didn't last long... I find that with almost every print job, I need to unplug/restart the printer. Very frustrating as you can imagine. Oh, DO NOT sign up for the HP ink plan. They throttle down the print speed drastically and track how much you print, and it really doesn't save much money.

The name "Envy" is appropriate for this printer, as I now strongly envy anybody who purchased a better printer than this one. Since installing it a few months ago, it has been a constant headache. Frequently, even when trying to print from HP's accompanying app "HP PrintSmart," the printer will simply not respond to print jobs. Almost every time we need to use it, we need to fuss to get reconnected to the printer. Usually this means restarting the printer and the computer, signing back in to the HP web account which we had to create in order to use the printer, and trying again. After going through all of these motions, the printer will then print all of the jobs it refused to before, wasting a stupid amount of ink. It seems to only be able to print PDFs, and the scanning features are also inconvenient and fail frequently. Other, better, things you can buy with $149: 21 pounds of pistachios. 15 kitchen trashcans 500 bouncy balls A better printer.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed so poorly for you. The disappointment you express is certainly understandable, considering you’ve had issues involving unexplained delays, connectivity, scanning and print jobs popping up long after you’ve given up on them. We want our customers to have far more reliable experiences than what you’ve endured, so I’ll provide some resources that I hope will help you get the device working to your satisfaction or remedy the situation some other way.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity, which seems like it’s probably what’s behind the need to frequently reset and reconnect. On the same page you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning difficulties. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If any problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. Mac Users Note!

I installed this printer on a Mac running OS 10.13 yesterday. Ran a color test page and it looked good. Ran a color copy, and it looked good. Tried to print a color page and it would only print B&W. Huh? Further research on HP's support forum showed Mac users complaining they were having the same issue, OS 10.13 and higher. After several months of notifying HP ... no solution yet! Unacceptable!!

Worked fine for a few months...will no longer print after Windows 10 update...perpetual printer error message. Can only print off my Android Cellphone HP app and google chromebook HP app. (Will still error from the webpage or document print page) Sometimes the printer will not respond and wont turn off using the power button...need to pull the power cord...wait..than re-connect to start up again. Not a good impression on HP printers and probably will avoid buying HP in the future.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer stopped working with your computer after you updated your operating system to Windows 10. I can surely understand why this as well as the frequent need to unplug and reset the device would be a tremendous frustration. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll direct you to some resources I hope will accomplish that.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has various diagnostic tools and services, including our Windows 10 Support Center. Beyond frustrating. Never works when I want it to. The need to sign into the HP website to use the printer is ridiculous. It has lights on the printer that are of no help to figure out what is wrong. Constantly unplugging and repluggging the machine to get it to work.
