Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the ENVY Pro 6455's high-quality prints and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and straightforward setup. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a display screen was also a point of concern for several customers. Positive feedback also centered around the printer's quiet operation and reasonable price.

The most frustrating printer I have ever used! I have begged and prayed to get this thing to work properly. Setup was really easy and worked well during the initial stage. Then it became like a teenager (got moody) and only worked when it felt like it. I had to reset it a bunch of times, couldn't stay on the internet. Again, cannot return the printer to BestBuy per return policy. The job of a printer is to print. When it fails, then its a bad product. Get a printer with buttons not solely App controlled. The instant ink program is a mess by HP. You will not be able to use any cartridges from any where else. My husband bought cartridges from Staples and OfficeMax before joining the program - None of them worked b/c they want you to join. Totally messed up! Ink worked but again the printer has to tell them when your low on ink to get new ones. Then you have to wait 10 days for it (shipping/mail services). So you have a printer for $189 that you can't use with no ink??? I had to print else where. Buy something else! Not worth the stress or the trouble.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed so unreliably, and that you’ve had difficulty with your Instant Ink subscription. I can wholly understand why this would be a frustrating combination. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll provide some resources I hope will make that happen.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity. Great quality with regular paper, photo papers and scanning. 4 stars because it kept getting “disconnected” and “stuck” status. No actual paper got stuck and it was connected online the whole time. Since this has no power button, I had to constantly unplug and replug. The set up was pretty difficult and I am tech savvy. I had the product for about 3 weeks before returning and upgraded to a different HP model with a power button. Great quality for the price. The HP printing program is amazing and I highly recommend. Maybe the issues I had were isolated.

The quick start sheet had this up and running easily. I used it one day and happy with it. Complete frustration with lights running at night (living in a hotel after fire) and couldn't locate the Power button (hidden in the back and not pointed out in quick start literature). Though the information is available after you locate an online user manual. The Problem. "E9" error message. Tried the online HP troubleshooter/customer service, "E9" never clears. This went on for a couple of days. Tried HP support where the tech takes control of your computer, in the end, "E9" never cleared. I think this was related to a firmware update. Regardless, after reading online reviews, post purchase, and seeing same problems - I chose to return this item, avoiding future headaches. Wound up buying another brand with EcoTank and very happy.

I miss having a screen to look at options, tools, ink supply, etc. For me, the operation is not so intuitive and it appears that HP is trying to hook their customers on setting up an account and opting for automatic ink supply. The control buttons are hard to see if they are not lit. And, why is the power button in the back? I'll probably need the Geek Squad to help finish installation. I can print and copy, but haven't figured out scanning and faxing yet. Print quality is very good. I haven't tried photos yet, though.
