    Computer was a total lemon

I had this computer for 17 days and for 17 days it shut down, screen inverted unexpectedly, then as if out of the Poltergeist the screen would go fuzzy and start strobe flashing... Luckily when I bought this computer I also purchased the Geek Squad protection plan. I was able to return the computer, but unfortunately they did not have the same one in stock at any location near by. I ended up having to purchase the more expensive computer. So another $400 on the larger model and so far so good. So it is probably just a one off fluke, but make sure you get the extra coverage just encase.

I am not particularly happy with the computer. It is too sensitive to touch. It frequently decides to shrink the page size on its own.

Not bad but it was sold to me as a gaming computer by a Best Buy employee I had to return it because it doesn’t even have a graphics card or can handle simple games. Other stuff might be fine.

I was on item 6) when this device deleted my review of negative features. So I will summarize: This device thinks it knows what vocabulary I should use. It is so smug it tells me about other programs to use even though I have expressed no such interest. It is also smug enough to "edit" my message even as I continue typing and sends me into other programs even as I type. So I end up straightening out items I want to do because of the interference of the device into what is quite a simple process. Yes, I eventually communicate, fighting off the device all the way.

Open box was a bad idea

Overall this PC works geat, but I decided to purchase an open box model to save $. That turned out to be a horrible idea. Wifi didn't work when I purchased it and the phone support was no help. Geek Squad installed a driver to repair the issue several days later in store, but then when I got home I realized there were several other driver related issues. I haven't had time to drive back to the store to have them resolved yet. The PC itself works great, I just wish they had time to correct all of the issues before selling it to me as a "new, open box" model.

I returned this laptop because I found another with more memory and a faster processor. This laptop was easy to use but heavier than I remembered. I couldn't get the fingerprint login to work.

I was hesitant to buy an HP and for good reason. After being unable to buy a Dell because it was unavailable, I was encouraged to buy this HP Envy. I was uncertain but decided to get it anyway. The first week seemed fine and as I continued to use it over the next few weeks I found that the PC would freeze up often. I currently have microphone issues as well as intermittent freezing as well as frequent disconnection from wifi. All in all a disappointing product!

It's been a few months since I bought it. I've been using it mildly. It worked fine for a while but for the last two weeks it keeps hanging. The microphone stops working and the laptop emits a continuous high pitched sound. The only solution is restarting the laptop using the power button. It's become so regular that it's rendered the laptop useless for work.

Great pc but I'm having trouble with it turning off even when fully charged. You have to hold the power button several times. I need to bring it in and have it looked at. When it works it's great.

I was very excited to purchase this laptop after reading all the good reviews. However, it has a big sound problem, that occurs when I'm using video conferences. As a student using Zoom is imperative and I can't trust the laptop. Sometimes during a Zoom class, a big noisy sound starts unexpectedly and I'll need to shut down the computer. Sometimes the audio just stopped unexpectedly during a class. I tried to reach HP but they said it's not under the insurance since it happens only when I use third-party software. Very disappointed.

Major audio problems in video calls

Laptop was purchased for school. However, video chat programs such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to crash (audio either fails, a mic cannot be detected and the program crashes or the speakers make a horrendous noise until the computer is fully restarted). Other owners have insisted this a problem with the bios update HP released as they too have had this problem after the update. This makes it extremely difficult to attend school. Best Buy and HP both refuse to assist with the issue (contacted Best Buy as at first I believed the laptop to be defective). HP claims you can just reinstall the drivers. Which, does nothing. When contacted again they will tell you it is a "software" issue with the programs. Even if nobody else in the call, or using the program, has the same issue. Would not recommend if you intend to do any video calls anytime soon.

I had this for less than a week, and it froze up for about a half an hour. Wouldn't let me turn it off or anything. Aside from that, it seemed to operate well. The keyboard felt a little weird. Not made for any type of gaming, it gets hot and it lags. Great for just homework. The screen doesn't seem to be very bright either. I returned it and hung up HP, as it was my third in less that a month. Moved on to Dell, which is working way better.
