The last couple of laptops I bought were lower end models that I knew would last a couple of years. As a couple of years turned into a few years, it was time for a replacement.
I read a ton of reviews and was still torn on whether I wanted to spend more in hopes of having a better experience. I had looked at this laptop a couple of times in the store and finally decided to give it a try.
For starters, the installation was very simple. I bought my son a Dell for Christmas with similar specs and the HP was much faster on the initial set up.
I am a fan of how easy it was to install printers. I have both an older Brothers and neww Epson printer and was not always able to get these installed on the older computers but this HP found them right away. The backlit keyboard is a nice option as my wife often used the laptop to finish work while I am going to sleep. The picture and sound are also improvements. The keyboard also feels much more stable than the lower end computers resulting in much easier typing. Overall, this computer feels much more sturdy.
The only cons I have noticed so far bottom pad in regards to right and left clicking. The pad requires you to click in the extreme left and right corners to register. Also, and I knew before buying, it does not have a CD drive.
So far the extr money spent seems to be worthwhile.

I told the sales associate what I needed and he recommended the HP Envy. The price was reasonable so I went with it. Works well so far. Definitely an upgrade on my old laptop. I am satisfied with the HP Envy.

The i5 and the 12 GB RAM really work well together. My wife and the kids love the touch screen and use it often in tablet mode. This is the second Envy X360 I bought and I’m really happy with its performance.
I would not recommend it for a serious gamer, but it can handle CAD, online games, and some expert programs that I’m using for work.

I got it on sale for 650. Very easy to setup. Very fast. Had some issues with updating windows, but most likely was a Microsoft issue. I like the design, and the illuminated keys.

Touch screen is great, having the extra memory is great for not highly involved games. Would like a dedicated GPS though. Otherwise perfect for internet and office work.

This computer has wonderful battery life. It lasts me all day and if it gets only light use it will still hold a charge 2 days. It only has a 620 graphics card ,but combined with the 12gb memory and a kaby lake 8gen i5, it plays games like WOW on med settings at 30-50 fps. Its only has 1.6-1.8ghz so its NOT very fast , but once it gets going its runs fine. Sometimes it lags a bit, which is a problem with games , but its quick to catch .It doesn't has the specs for power hungry gamer/photo editor use, but For every day tasks its more than enough. .

My laptop died. Well, it comes on but I can't see anything. So I needed a new one. I waited until holiday sale time to make a purchase. Looked really long for something with the power and speed that I needed but at a reasonably decent price. The Envy fits the bill. No complaints so far. And the battery life is so much better than my Acer.

What are the first fire this thing up I could not believe that clarity of the screen. For the money that I spent this is well worth it. Performance has been good (I consider myself a very heavy user) I have tried to put it through enough tasks that would have stopped my other laptop this thing is still running strong. Good machine.

I absolutely love everything about this Laptop. The lighted keyboard is amazing. I love that I waited for one in my price range than was 1 TB and has 12G ram. If literally flies while surfing the internet. Also my first one with touch screen, and it has sturdy hinges to flip it completely back. I’m waiting for the special stylus to arrive to see if it’s as easy as it says for drawing and creating 3D pictures. Great value and price. Love Black Friday, this was worth the wait!

I needed a laptop for the basics: checking email, internet use, basic Microsoft office use, and some internet games by my 4 and 6 year old. This laptop has served each of these purposes perfectly. It was easy to set up, the touchscreen works perfectly, and I have not had any difficulties or problems in the month or so that I have used it, and it is being used daily. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a laptop for these types of uses.

This laptop has all the functions I need. It is very fast powering up and I like the facial recognition sign on. It is lightweight, love the back-lit keyboard and has a sleek, modern look to it. The only drawback is just 2 USB ports, but I purchased a Data Hub from Amazon...problem solved.

I love my new laptop. It is fast and has the storage I need to edit and save pictures. It is light weight. The screen is clear and the keyboard feels really good. It also didn't come with all the extra useless software that a lot of computers come with. Love the people at the Clovis Best Buy. They have the best attitude.

OS installation took longer than expected, then there was nearly 2 hours of time spent downloading and installing updates following the installation. Then when installing Office 365 went through a shorter but still lengthy set of upgrades. I find the machine to be quite nice, easy to use, good keyboard, good display, quite fast. My only complaint is all the force fed games and other bloatware that I am finding difficult to get rid of, things I don't want and it irritates me that HP feels it is OK to stick this stuff in the machine. I still have popup for HP smart adapter that pops up when ever I sign on or return from standby...a real pain that reduces my satisfaction as a customer. I would rate this product as excellent if not for my grips above.

I LOVE this computer. I needed to get a new computer because I knew it was only a matter of time until my MacBook crashed once again. I shopped around for awhile, and can say I am glad I made this purchase! While this is a bigger laptop, it's still pretty lightweight, and converts into a tablet. You can bend it all the way back, or set it up like a tent. The touchscreen works great with the Bamboo stylus! The battery also seems to do pretty well. I haven't got into the programs too much, and I don't game, but for my teaching programs, it works great!

my only complaint is that it does not have the tray for cd's so i can install my favorite games and i went to buy an external one and when i tried to use it, it is for a tower. not an external disc drive. no cords to connect it and no way to use it. another trip to brainerd.

I love my new laptop. It has a touch screen which my old one didn't However, it doesn't have a cd player or cd maker.which my old one did have.. I watched movies & listened to music on it. Although this feature
isn;t essential, it was a nice feature to have,
