Purchased this HP laptop for general home use to supplement my aging desktop. Usual activities include online banking and investment account management, online browsing and purchasing, social media activity. No gaming or streaming. Also added MS Office to this laptop which it runs fine. Wireless connectivity has been good. Windows10 has performed fairly well. Only shortcomings are the laptop does not feel as sturdy as others I have used; wish the case had more texture and was not as slippery. Keyboard is adequate. Touch pad is somewhat short of features; woukd like to be able to scroll horizontally and vertically from the touch pad. Price was about what I was expecting. This laptop is meeting the need quite well.

I decided to buy myself a laptop as it's been years since I had a good working one. I have a tablet, or I should say I used to have one. My husband took it over. Anyway, I really like the features of this, although I've not really used it much; been too busy but I am looking forward to being able to use it. I really like the 3D art which I had my granddaughter in mind to use sometime when she's over. But then, maybe I'd end up without a laptop, too. I like having the touch screen, the size is really nice, too. The one thing that I do not like is no place to use a cd or DVD but I knew that in advance so when I did decide that I wanted the option to use CDs and DVDs, I bought an external one.

I've had this laptop for about a month now, and I have to say it is just as wonderful as it was on day one. Much faster than my old one, very efficient, and I love all the improvements that have been done to make HP Support Assistant (to use one example) more intuitive without (always) being too intrusive. The biggest adjustment for me has been the lack of lines on the mouse pad, which means I have to be very specific about whether I'm scrolling, left- or right-clicking, but that probably won't bother people who don't wait 5 years to replace their laptop. Loving the touch screen, even though I don't use it for much but scrolling and precise clicks. Overall, it's a great computer for work and home. Looking forward to testing non-graphics intensive games on it once work lets up!

Terrible computer! I thought I would be able to edit pictures but the laptop has a very difficult time scrolling Facebook. I should have returned it right out of the box. Since it could barely handle navigating Facebook, I know it wouldn't handle anything I actually bought it for. And then the space bar started lagging, putting a space whenever it finally kicked in. It's infuriating. But then my touchpad stopped functioning properly. So I've struggled with this laptop for 14 months and it's shot. HP doesn't stand behind their products. Google the issues with the HP Envy and you will see these issues are widespread. Don't do it.

The touch screen response is great. Picture quality is very good. Battery life is acceptable. I recommend changing the power setting manually. After I enabled the hibernate mode and changed the sleep to hibernate after 20 minutes(if not in use) my battery life doubled. Why not 5 stars? It does not come with a USB -C charger and you can't charge it with the USB-C. It's fast. Sound quality is good. The keyboard bakelite is good but it doesn't have light adjustment option(On/Off only). No freeze. No connectivity problem. It has a good webcam. I have bought an HP pen for that(Wish it came with!!) I purchased this laptop for my 75 year old mother-in-law. She had an old tower home computer that was very outdated and in much need for an upgrade. We bought her a Samsung Tab A last Christmas and she has become very comfortable with it, so we thought she would be comfortable with a laptop. This HP ENVY laptop has been very easy for her to understand, not over sensitive to touch (touchscreen and touch-pad), good back light for viewing in a regularly lit room, and does everything (and more) she could every want. She surfs social media, websites, play games, and streams Netflix & Hulu on it and absolutely loves it. Her Samsung Tab A has not been used very much since she got her new toy.

Regular problems with video &/or sound capability

I have never written a review before - for anything. I have been so frustrated with this computer. Periodically it stops playing video and/or sound. It is usually after hp has initiated an automatic update. It takes excessive time and a very high level of frustration on my part to fix the issue. No one fix works each time. Once I took it in to the Geek Squad who was also perplexed as to how to fix this piece of trash. I took it back home. Then, after another automatic update, it started working again - at least for a few days. This problem is a regular occurrence. Never buy hp. Hp Support Assistance is laughable.

After having an old desktop with Windows Vista I finally was forced to stop my procrastination to upgrade when my desktop computer crashed and died for good. This can do so many things that there is a learning curve for me regarding its features, but I love the ability to use either the keyboard or the touch screen. Of course, I love the portability of a laptop around the house. This model is not the smallest or lightest so I probably won't take it out side of the house, but I wanted the bigger screen because of my diminishing eyesight. I'm not too fond of the tinny sound coming from the speakers, though.

I purchased this machine as a replacement for my wife's aging laptop (about 6 years old now). I had looked at one of these for myself but ended up purchasing a Surface Book 2 due to my requirements. However, my wife absolutely loves this machine. It's extremely fast (by my standards as well, not just her old-laptop standards) and relatively clean regarding bloatware. The machine boots (time to login screen) in about 30 seconds. She doesn't use the tablet mode of it, but the battery life is really good. I don't have exact numbers on what she's seeing, but it easily goes 8+ hours before needing a charge.

It has been about a month since I bought this and everything works great so far. After reviewing the performance of i5 and i7 of the same series, I decided to just go with the i5 as that should be sufficient upgrade from my 4 year old i7 and I am not planning to use it for gaming or any extensive computing. So far so good and have not had a problem with it. It is very beautiful to look at compared to other laptop in the same price range. Also, it has the HDMI port (which is very important to me) and the on/off switch is on the side (I mostly connect it to the bigger screen at home and would not want to flip it open every time to turn on) so it fits all the requirements I have.

I purchased this laptop as a gift for my wife. She really loved it and since i'm the one who sets up the installation and configuration, I can easily tell how great this laptop is using my work computer as comparison. Only time will tell if the durability and performance will turn out great but so far with her daily use, she is very happy with it. I get to use it once in a while and I'm happy with the speed. Because of its touch screen, you don't really need a mouse and can turn it into a tablet if you want to work off a bed. So it's very flexible. I would highly recommend the 256 Gb SSD over the 128 given that it's easy to use up all the disk space with a lot of the newer apps.

Glass Screen Shatters on the slightest Impact!!

Within a few weeks of me purchasing this laptop, the glass screen cracked between the two hinges that connect the keyboard to the screen. There is no support between these two hinges which means the play is enough to crack the screen. This also impacts the performance of the laptop as the digitizer sends now sends mixed signals to the computer. After replacing the screen with a genuine HP replacement at a cost of $500, the screen cracked again within a week. Buyer beware, this product is not designed or built to last

My previous computer i'd for a few years had basically given up on me and was perfect. Seeing that I was unable to find another computer from the same company with similar specs and pricing, I extended my choices. After researching online for computers with the specs I wanted, came across this gem at Best Buy. It just happened to be on sale this day. Normally it's $800+ but I purchased for $200 less. It's a really great computer. The size is perfect, it's 2-in-1, the system is semi-moderate speed, it;s extremely light-weight and not bulky, it's touch screen....I could go on. In short, great computer and well worth the price.

The laptop is a decent machine overall. Decent specs, and it will be a pretty decent performer. The things I didn't like about this laptop is while the 10 key is a decent addition, it makes this keyboard feel awkward and I was consistently hitting wrong buttons at first. Not the greatest display, dimmer than I would have liked to see. Battery life shouldn't be expected to be anything great, but it will be average. Hinge/durability is questionable, but should hold up as long as you're easy on it. Overall, this is a decent value and a decent laptop, but there are better options to be had.

I purchased this computer to replace the Lenovo I got 6 years ago. It has the SSD which makes it MUCH faster than my old one, it's much lighter, and I like how you can flip the screen around and use it like a tablet. The only things I'm not thrilled with is it only has one USB slot, the power cable is still the plug-in kind when there's the magnetic kind available on other brands, and I haven't figured out how to disable the touch pad yet - I'm a mouse person so when I'm typing, the curser dances all over the place. Those few inconveniences aren't enough to detract from my love of this computer.

I love this HP Envy 2-N-1, you have a computer and also you have a tablet. It has the performance of a computer with the numbers on the right and the functions on the top, I perform a task and I can go anywhere to fix it or add something else just touching the screen like a tablet, it has so many great things to do and use on it that here is not enough space to write about it, and also if I want to watch a movie or just I want to go online and I don’t need to type I just take out the screen and it becomes a big tablet. The best part is I can carried it everywhere with me because it is so light and slim and I don’t need a big bag for it

This laptop replaced an HP i5 laptop that was robust for FIVE years. When the old one crashed and BSOD'd, I knew I was going to get a similar replacement. This new laptop convertible is sleek and fast. The hard drive is a SSD 256 gb, which is small-ish, but I keep my files in the cloud. As long as there's plenty of space for system files, it works well for me. I do a fair amount of gaming, that is, I play the kinds that Microsoft calls Casual Games: Mahjong, Jigsaw puzzles, Cryptograms, etc. This new HP handles having many apps open at once. And the price was also great!

Purchased this for my son to take to college. He had it up and running in no time and really likes all of the features. I admired the picture quality when he was showing me some things on the screen. We also purchased the bamboo pen at the same time. Be sure to sign up for student deal coupons - we got $100 off because I signed up for the "student deals" and I got a coupon emailed to me - even though the sale associate told me there wasn't one (there was!) it basically paid for the pen and the anti-virus software!

If you are looking fora laptop with the most versatility a 2-in-1 that bends back to switch into tablet mode this is the best choice and you need keep in mind these 3 things ............. BENDBACK : Bendback 2-in-1s, which have screens that flip back 360 degrees, work far better in laptop mode and usually have greater endurance, a better keyboard and more ports. much better than Detachable 2-in-1s SCREEN RESOLUTION: 1920 x 1080 display Resolution VS 1366 x 1080 with the same Price SIZE: For the best balance between portability and usability a 15 in models provide lots of real estate for drawing or media viewing.

I needed a new laptop because I recently started back at school and I'm taking online classes. The laptop does everything I need it to for school plus the basics like checkint e-mail and browsing the web. When I first startee it up, the fan was very loud. However, after finishing all updates and deleting programs I knew I wouldn't use or need, the fan became very quiet and has been ever since. This laptop has been great! I've had it for a couple months and have had no issues so far and got through my first class successfully with it!
