    Worst touch pad

I Purchased this computer a few weeks ago. I was using a wireless mouse, and all of a sudden the mouse went dead. Went out and bought new batteries. Didn't help. So I'm using the touchpad and it is the worst touchpad I have ever used in my lifetime. Boxes keep popping up everywhere, you hit the touchpad and it will not close windows. Beware up the touchpad. If I had not had all of my work files transferred and software set up, spent $300 doing this, I would've returned it in a heartbeat.

Decent touchpad--which means that a badly designed touch pad can really ruin your day

Loose hinges and clicky trackpad = Dealbreaker!

Beautiful display, Great sound, and performance up to the specs. If this is mostly a desktop replacement and you use a mouse you might love it. But the trackpad makes a clicking noise every time you touch it. And the hinges are so loose the screen will rotate all the way around when you walk with it. Also the empty dvd bay gives a hollow feel to the base. 0 stars for portability!

While it does have a great display, the keyboard is really nice and comfortable to type on but the touch pad is extremely rough, trying to scroll with your two fingers it gets stuck and isnt smooth at all, its heavier than expected. The fan is very loud and heats up a lot during use. Sadly going to return this tomorrow.

Only thing that I found deficient about it was the amount of space left of the touch pad for your hand to sit on and the proximity of Num Lock key to backspace. I found myself hitting it constantly so I opted for 13.3" version of the same laptop. Otherwise it ran great and worked great.

I am very happy with this laptop. It is so convenient to have a touch screen. My only problem is that I had to adjust the setting on the touch pad to prevent accidentally activating it.

Very nice computer. My only frustration is with the touchpad mouse. I wish it had right and left hand buttons that srperaye from the mouse pad.

A good laptop at a reasonable price. Big screen. Good color and screen resolution. Good for streaming TV sports. Good sound for a laptop. Touchpad sensitivity is inconsistent even with system adjustments. Sometimes it seems you will highlight something or open an email just by breathing on the touchpad, Battery life is not great, Big screen is probably a big battery drain. Would probably buy again. $150 discount helped.

Product looks sleek. As expected operates fast with SSD. However, my speakers are making funny noises, the thing gets unbelievably hot and the fan is the loudest I've had in years. Touchpad is a little too big for my liking and left and right buttons are not clearly distinguishable. I may keep it, cause I don't have the time to search for another.

Repurchased this HP after 2 previous, only because I was unsure in decision. I had a HP open box it was great, wasn't familiar with the fast processor so I took back kept getting hot. Purchased this HP i5 processor, great computer, love the silver color and the backlight keyboard. Only problem is can disable the touchpad, anyone with assistance on that would be very helpful. Overall, great laptop

I just purchased this computer for my fiance and it is a great computer. I have the Spectre and I believe this Envy puts up pretty well compared to my computer. I am in IT and if I didn't need everything that my Spectre has I would've gotten an Envy as well. The only reason it is a 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because the touchpad of the computer was assembled a little weird and it would rub on the side of the housing. I am pretty sure it was just a one time thing and I was able to move it over with a flathead screwdriver.

    Trackpad does not work--constant problems

What is the point of a laptop if you can't use the trackpad? A year after I bought this laptop, I started having problems. Pretty convenient, right? Don't even get me started on the geek protection thing they push on you at the store--I live an hour an a half away from a Best Buy so I wasn't about to buy into that. So I started having problems last summer and I've spent hundreds trying to get it fixed. Some things got fixed, some things didn't. One consistent problem is the trackpad not working. It'll be working fine, then one morning I'll open it up and no trackpad. I spent another $200 trying to figure out why it wasn't working, it got "fixed", then a week later it wasn't working again. Over and over this is happening. I've tried everything from updating the driver to removing the driver and redownloading it, all different things, and occasionally the trackpad comes back for weeks, or even months, and then it stops working again for no reason. The device manager says it's not working properly, but says the driver doesn't need updated and troubleshooting doesn't help. The last time I "fixed" it, it lasted maybe two months and it was because I'd updated the BIOS driver. Half the time when I update a driver and restart the computer it gives me a solid black screen--and then I've to hard restart it until the screen works again. There's only so much I can do. So I'm stuck using a wireless mouse, which kills the convenience of a laptop. It's not like I can sit on the couch and use a mouse comfortably. I got this laptop to try to start a small editing business and you can bet I can't use it for that! It's way too unreliable to do anything responsibly on it. I'm disgusted with this purchase. I loved that it had a touch screen and everything about it seemed so great, but it's been problem after problem since the 1 year mark. Even the HP help desk is incompetent. It's so frustrating that I won't be buying an HP again.

I'd have never guessed, when I started this new laptop journey a month ago, that I'd now be anti Hewlett-Packard (HP). This is especially true considering I'd been a loyal HP user for well over a decade. As I'm writing this, my laptop is at the regional HP repair center. The saddest part of the whole situation is that I've had to return multiple defective HP laptops in the last month. These were different models with different defects, all confirmed and documented by Geek Squad representatives. Which means that it's not just this model, it's all their products. This particular HP Envy 360 model, the 15m-cn0011dx, has touchpad / clickpad issues, rendering it about as useful as a brick with a screen and keyboard. Unless they can pull off some drastic changes ASAP, this will be the end of a computing dynasty. I guess all that's left to say is rest in peace HP.
