I had an Apple MacBook Air before buying the HP Envy x360 and was scared to make the switch. Honestly, I think I like the HP Envy better than my old computer. It is powerful and is fast. The silver looks great and the buttons feel comfortable. I LOVE the 2-in-1 ability to flip the screen into tent mode, tablet mode, or reverse full screen mode. Touch screen is great! The only complaint I might have is the screen isn’t very bright, even on full blast. Otherwise, fantastic computer. 5 stars.

Over the past six years I have had three Microsoft Surface computers and I have had something go wrong with each and every one of them but either being stupid or a glutton for punishment each time one died I would get another because I really like so much about them and how light they are. Well, the final straw came when the SSD in my Microsoft Surface Pro 6 failed completely after only a year and a half with absolutely no warning and no matter how much I begged and pleaded with it or tried to get it fixed there was nothing that could be done so I finally got smart and bought this HP Envy x360 2-in-1 15.6" Touch Screen Laptop with Intel Core i7 and for far less than what I would normally be paying for my Surface laptop. So glad I wizened up! I love it. With one or two minor exceptions it has all the exact same features of my Surface and fingers and based on the reputation of HP should last longer than my Surface laptops seemed to, but will have to wait and see on that one. It does weigh more than my Surface did which is a negative for me but it isn't dreadfully heavy so I can deal with it and I do have to buy a new carrying case/tote for it as it is larger overall than my Surface but I am never too upset about having to go shopping. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and happy to recommend at this time.

Beautiful! This laptop is AMAZING if you don’t need the numeric key pad. I had it for a week and returned it for one with a number pad. But if you don’t do accounting in bed this is perfect! The color is crisp. Light weight easy to set up. Speakers are GREAT! Fast little machine!
I couldn’t figure out the screen shot. Did they do away with it? I had to use the snipping tool.

I haven't invested in a laptop in years out fear that I wouldn't find one as good as my toshiba. Well this laptop did not disappoint! It's a nice size, great picture, fast, and has plenty of storage. I'm satisfied with this purchase!

Decent computer that does what it is intended for. However, the lid is flimsy. Nothing fancy about it but I do like the touchscreen. I was hesitant on purchasing another hp computer because I had a 2017 all-in-one desktop that was hardly used, yet the motherboard took a crap. Buy the extended warranty. Battery life is short.

HP Laptop Hinge Defect/Repair Delays

The HP Envy Laptop is very nice, Fits my needs and I like that the keyboard is has quick key depression. It works well with a HDMI cable connected to my monitor. But a could not give it 5 stars because after three months, the left hinge broke and cracked the screen upon opening! The brake was hard to believe since I keep the laptop closed except to turn it on. Otherwise I use another keyboard and my monitor to do all my work. So in my opinion the hinge was defective and/or poorly installed. Second reason for the low rating is that upon reporting the problem HP said they would repair it in 8 days. Four days later I was sent a "Loaner" laptop and told the parts were out of stock and repair was be by August 6th, one month wait. Then two weeks later, HP said still a delay now they expect to get my Laptopback by September 7th. In the end it took almost 7 weeks AND I have to but a external driver for the "Loaner" laptop that failed during the time! Have been a long time HP customer. Now, not sure the quality of their products and warranties have become a must have. (side note: my new HP printer also had to be replaced for defect in the blue ink dispense!

I’ve only had this laptop for 3wks but so far I have no complaints. Speedy, light weight, and looks really nice. I have yet to start saving files on it so hopefully it holds up well. Battery life is okay, I’ve had better but it definitely isn’t bad.

Great speed and versatility. I like the slim design but the only issue I have is opening the laptop because it’s so thin. It boots up extremely quick and processes multiple documents. I only wish that it had more ports and a HDMI out and input.

If you're looking for a moderately priced machine, the HP Envy is a solid choice. It's fast, it's sleek, and I love having the touchscreen. Just wish it had a side number pad, but I can live without that. It's FAST and that was first on my must-have list!

If i could buy it again i’d get the version that has an active pen included. This one you have to buy a passive pen that still requires batteries and works about as well as your finger. Other than that its been great for my design work lots of easy mobility and great screen

HP produces great products and Best Buy is best at advising the right product for individual needs. The laptop is easy to set up and can be customized using the module that talks you through the steps. Speed, screen resolution, size, memory, weight are all optimal

I bought this laptop to replace my Surface Pro 4 which finally died. After telling the salesperson at Best Buy what my primary use is, he recommended this HP Laptop. I couldn't be happier!
This laptop is FAST and it is beautiful. It's slim form factor, gorgeous screen and the ability to flip the screen around to function as a tablet makes this the PERFECT laptop.
I did purchase a bamboo stylus to go with it because I take a lot of notes in OneNote. I also use it to teach in a college classroom, hooking up the HDMI to show my screen on the big screen through the projector.
It's incredible! I love it much more than my Surface Pro 4 and I got a LOT of usage out of it as well.
If you're looking for the perfect 2-in-1, this is it!

I got this laptop because I wanted something that I could work from home from and also use to read sheet music. I’ve used iPads before but the notes are always too small for my eyesight. In terms of reading music this is the perfect size for me and saves me so much trouble with printing unnecessary scores! It is also great for working from home and is very fast, great graphics, and start up time. The only downside for me is that my students haven’t been able to hear me play piano through the computer on our lessons, and I haven’t been able to figure out how to fix it.

I bought this because I have typically always gone intel, but not happy with the keyboard coloring as its hard to read with the back lighting on and sometimes hard to read with the backlights off. The RYZEN with the nightfall black is much easier to read in all conditions and mimics that of a macbook color and process better making it much easier to read.
The battery life on this seemed to go down quicker than expected and also due to past issues with Optane memory failing and destroying HDD data I didn't feel this was a suitable use for me. So I traded it in and went with the RYZEN processor sibling better and enjoying it much better with same performance and better battery life. The only thing this had a win on was the 16GB of memory but I'm ok with only the 8 and the larger savings with the AMD processor for what I'm using it for.
Sadly i'm really disappointed with this INTEL model and sorry to see.

I could not be more pleased with my new laptop. I am not a computer geek but I was able to completely set up the laptop with no help from anyone. I am loving the features and speed of the computer. The finger touch login is fantastic. The keys are super smooth to the touch and the lighted keyboard if turned on works fantastic too. The color quality of the screen is amazing. I have been using it for a few weeks now and have nothing bad to say about it. I researched laptops and felt this was the best for the price. Super pleased and happy with my new laptop.

main complaint is the keyboard LED setup.
the backlite keyboard F key needs to be dimly lit when keyboard LED is off. its hard to find in drack situations. annoying. previous generations of this PC had that feature.
