HP Envy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is awesome! However the process I had to go through to pick it up, not so much. I purchased it online and was given a message stating it would be re as dy for pick up in one hour. The store that had it was not close, and I had to go to work. I sent my son, who sat in the car waiting for 5 hours. The store closed and he had to go back the next day. I did not receive a message stating it was ready until 0430. There were many others who received the same message and showed up only to wait.

Simple, sleek with a little weight
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Always been a HP gal and when my previous laptop went out on me I decided to try something new, this 2 in 1 is nice, sleek, has a little weight to it but that’s not an issue for me. Only down fall is finding a proper case for it, again, not too much of a issue for me but it’s something to be aware of for other users if they want to travel with it. Overall the laptop itself is amazing, works fast and smooth, no lag whatsoever when transitioning from laptop mode to tablet.

Great performance but too large as a tablet
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit, I debated returning this laptop and getting a smaller screen size. I just can't find my perfect combination of screen size, memory and performance. That being said, the performance of this unit is outstanding and screen clarity is very good. The downside is that it is just a little to large to carry around and use as a tablet. The sound was a bit of a let down. With Bang Olufsen audio, I expected a little higher quality sounds and deeper lows. I k&now this is almost impossible with a thin case. The offset keyboard does take some getting used to and going to back to a 13in laptop my hands are misplaced and I type gibberish.

IT Pro: Really Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 5 years my boss finally said I could get a new PC. As the defacto IT manager, I spent weeks researching and decided on the Ryzen 5 version of this before returning it for this model. I had no issue with the R5 for the week I used it, this machine went on sale and seemed like a far better deal. I've had it about 7 weeks. I am 3 days into my third reimaging and this thing has already slowed to a bog. I even upped the RAM to 24GB. A lot of this is Windows (it runs Linux fine), but the FAN! THE FAN! Please, it's driving me absolutely insane. I feel like I am working on an airport runway. And it runs constantly. Even at 15% CPU load. It sounds like it has asthma and is going to pass out. Why do you need to run the fan at full speed for such a low CPU % HP? Why can't you make this adjustable like many other manufacturers? If I brought this machine into a cafe, people would stare at me for the noise. And that's with just a few browser tabs open. But even at 15%, this CPU gets HOT. So this leads me to believe the thermal rejection design in this machine is SUBPAR at best. I'd hate to run this thing above 50% for a long period of time. At times, it just completely hangs and then starts working again. The battery life is way below spec (like 1/2), the trackpad is already wearing away (and I use a trackball 70% of the time), and it already flexes and creeks when you move it around. Really having regrets on this. At the very least, HP could have thrown in some EAR PLUGS. What do you recommend I do? I've already wiped it clean 3 times now. It's light. It looks sleek. But unless HP can fix the heat/noise issues, AVOID IT.
