Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the fast performance, touch screen, lightweight design, and reasonable price of the ENVY x360 laptop. They appreciate its speed, clear display, portability, and value for money. However, customers are negative about the fan noise, average battery life, weight, overheating issues, and limited number of USB ports. They mention that the fan can be loud during normal use, the battery life could be better, it is heavier than expected, it can overheat when charging while in use, and it could use more USB ports.

HP Envy Laptop need repair after 1 month use!

I purchased this microwave on December 1, 2020. I did not open until January 16, 2021 because of the holidays and not getting around to it. I also did not purchase the expensive Geek Squad warranty because HP would cover hardware for a year (so I thought)! January 20, I noticed that the computer was coming apart in two places. I took to Best Buy who said I had til 1/16/21 to have returned it. The Geek Squad did say they thought the battery had expanded. I thought HP would cover but was told they only cover if I purchased from an HP store. I was disgusted with a month old costly laptop and having to fight to get it repaired. I had purchased a care warranty from HP when I opened laptop 1/16/21 so they are repairing it. I haven't gotten it back yet so I hope is is repaired correctly.

I just received this laptop, has very good specifications. But looks like the storage temperature reached out to 50C which is 122 F. I checked it on BIOS firmware settings. I can not understand, is that because of non-proper working fan or optane memory. Even the laptop is that warm fan still works on %64 capacity. Wish I got explanation.

I purchased HP ENVY laptop computer back in December 2020, after 18 months of general use, its hood cracked open. Called the HP support and they gave me a quote of $620 for repair. This is a less than two years old laptop. Be cautious.

THIS IS THE SECOND HP I'VE BOUGHT IN THE PAST 4 YEARS. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH THE SCREEN POPPING LOOSE FROM THE BACK PLATE. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A TABLET MODEL, I'VE NEVER USED IT THAT WAY, BUT IF YOU USED IT AS A TABLET, YOU WOULD HAVE REAL TROUBLE. I AND GOING TO BUY ANOTHER BRAND NEXT TIME, I CAN AFFORD ONE. THIS ONE REALLY SUCKS.

I had to buy a laptop pretty quickly because mine died unexpectedly and since everything is still shut down, I wasn't able to go in and get it checked out. Since my laptop was from 2015, I considered it a lost cause, and just decided to buy a new laptop. I don't normally like to buy computers online without looking at them in person- I'm a visual person- and I really need to see something like a computer in person to see the size, how it looks, how it works, how it feels, the keyboard, the graphics, the sound quality, etc. Since I couldn't really do that, I had to depend on calling best buy and relying on customer service reps. I was completely unfamiliar with all the new terminology as well since my laptop was from 2015, so I had to quickly research and learned solid state drives, core i7, etc and figure out what exactly I was looking for. Thankfully the people I spoke to were very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me. This computer is a great size and has a large size hard drive..I still have to upload my external hard drive. The sound quality is fantastic. It's very fast, and definitely an upgrade from my 2015 laptop. I'm still getting used to it, so I haven't used all the features yet, like Alexa. I use my laptop for basic things mostly like netflix, social media, medical files, resume, etc, but this would be a great computer for work, and students as well. The only two things so far that are a little bothersome are that the charger cable is on the right size so that can get in the way if you use a mouse like I do. And sometimes the fan turns on which can be a little loud. I thought that the battery would last a little longer too..but it still does last about 4-5 hours I think. I do wonder how to change the battery though..it doesn't look like it's easy to change like in my previous laptops. I could be wrong though. I have to research that still. But so far, other than those minor things- the computer is great! It is pricey..but my last laptop was only like $300 and it lasted 5 years..and it looks like most laptops are around this price now- between $800-$1000. So definitely research first, and be sure of what you're looking for, since you are spending a nice chunk of change. I bought this laptop before there were any reviews posted, so that was a little nerve-wracking...but it had everything that I was looking for, and they recommended it on the phone..plus I had a powerful need for a laptop...so thankfully..it worked out.

I’ve owned this HP Envy laptop for about a month. Here are my impressions: • It’s beautiful. The aluminum body is sleek and attractive. It appears to be sturdy and well-made. • It’s fast. My laptop has a 10th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, and it flies. It’s much faster than my previous laptop. The Intel Iris Plus onboard graphics seems to handle everything well. Granted, I’m not a heavy gamer, but for the games I do play, there’s no lag and the graphics are sharp and smooth. I had a separate graphics card on my previous laptop, but this one is so fast, it responds much better. • Speaking of graphics, the screen is very sharp, and the touchscreen is responsive. I’m considering getting a pen to augment it. • The keyboard has just the right feel and snap. Their backlighting is perfect to highlight the keys and is adjustable. It’s great for use in any lighting environment. • The built-in webcam is very sharp and gives a brilliant picture for Zoom calls. It’s much better than the one on my previous laptop, and better than the separate Logitech pro webcam I was using. There’s also a switch to turn it off, with a red light to let you know it’s defeated. • The built-in Bang & Olufsen speakers are among the very best I’ve ever heard for a laptop—great quality sound. And there are dedicated keys for sound mute, volume controls, and mic mute in the Function key area. • This model has the extra numeric keypad on the right side, which I prefer to hunting for the numbers on the upper keys. • I really like the fingerprint sensor that logs me in instantaneously. • The touchpad is easy to use and very responsive. I prefer using a wireless mouse (I tend to brush against the touchpad and send the cursor hither and yon). When the mouse is in use, you can set it to automatically turn off the touchpad. I only have a few minor comments. First, the aluminum casing does show dirt and spots, and can be scratched (so handle with care). However, HP has a guide that includes how to clean your laptop to keep it looking reasonably like new. Secondly, I would prefer a slightly larger delete button (which is located just above the large backspace button), and I wish they had put the “end” button on the end of the function keys, so it would be easier to find. But that’s quibbling. Overall, the HP Envy x360 laptop is a real winner. It gives the feeling of a precision instrument and it makes all my tasks a pleasure to do. I heartily recommend it.

    Better Than Average Machine

Yes, the cooling FAN NOISE can be concerning at random times, but if you run the fans in Quiet Mode (easily accessible via the f12 key), it's not much of an issue. T The POWER KEY is located in an odd place on the keyboard next to the delete key, above the backspace key. The DISPLAY is beautiful, but it's a bit difficult to view in a very bright room (although I didn't try to adjust the display settings... there is no real auto-adjust option in Windows 10, but you can manually adjust via f2 and f3 keys). The KEYBOARD is fine, but a feels flat in my opinion. I don't love the TOUCHPAD (no dedicated mouse click keys), but again, it's ok. SOUND is better than average, but pales in comparison to an iPad Pro. The TOUCHSCREEN functionality is great, and it's really to easy to browse the internet using this functionality. The ability to convert to TABLET MODE is nice... great for watching videos, but this puts the source of the fan noise right at the top of your screen. If you are looking for an ultra-portable tablet, this has all of the functionality (an included garaged stylus would have been nice - NOT INCLUDED), but it's just too big. You will have to consider if you want a larger screen with a number pad or another model with a smaller display (like 13"), no number pad, probably less ports and less resources for the sake of portability. Again, I would look at an iPad Pro. Good assortment of PORTS. BACKLIT keyboard is fine. There are lights on the keyboard that indicate whether or not your camera and microphone are enabled, which is great. BATTERY LIFE is not what I expected. I'd say it's more like 7-8 hours instead of 10 While I appreciate the free Microsoft 365 and McAfee Virus trials that come pre-loaded, I think the other BLOATWARE items make the machine feel cluttered, and should be dropped from the software configuration. WIFI connectivity is GREAT. This is a really good machine for a COLLEGE student and for someone who needs basic office program functionality at home. I'm not so sure that this is a great machine for gaming. Regarding the processor, I think an i5 would be just fine for this machine, and would probably help with battery life. The LOOK & FEEL of this 2-in-1 laptop is very good. Beveled edges and rounded low-profile rubber feet on the bottom panel allow this to sit in your lap comfortably while working.

for starters, this is the most expensive laptop i have owned and with that it is a beautiful laptop. Screen is crisp, clear. Audio is well. Laptop loads up fast and everything about it is fast in comparison to my old lenovos and dells. Touch screen works great. The fan sounds like a hum but you wouldn't know unless you're trying to hear it. My complaints are: the charger gets really hot when it's charging (but it does charge pretty fast) and the battery only lasts about 5hrs just browsing the web. The laptop itself also gets pretty warm with just sitting scrolling through facebook. Not something I'd expect from a $1000 laptop. Makes me worry that the battery will die on it after a year, like previous laptops i have owned.

Great computer! It has lasted throughout my entire undergraduate career as a Pre-Med student with no issue! Has a lot of storage and fast internet speed which is perfect for getting in late to a class and immediately starting an assignment or power point! After purchasing this computer and showing my friends, I had three classmates buy the same one!

Great computer purchased it in November of 2020, never had any issue until two days ago. The hinge broke with out any warning and as a result of it coming undone it has caused the touch screen to crack in the lower left side of the lap spreading up and outward to the center of the screen. see attache photos.

Purchased two weeks ago and the HP Envy is very fast and powerful. I am a CPA, so mostly spreadsheets and data analytics for me compared to gaming. Screen is very bright and colors are vivid. The 360 design is also very convenient for showing clients documents and charts. Camera could have been upgraded to 1080p for this price range as the camera is only 720p. Fan noise can also be loud at times when the laptop is just idle and not running any apps, but updates seem to be helping with this issue. Upgraded to Windows 10 Pro for additional security and the fingerprint scanner is definitely a plus. Overall great laptop and I gave 4 stars due to camera and fan noise.

-1 for annoyances, but overall very good

Okay let's talk about the cons first. Yes the fan is annoying. It's not just about how loud it gets, but that it creates a high-pitched noise and varies in speed, like a jet getting ready for take-off. HP does provide a "command center" app that allows you to change the thermal profile to adjust how fast the fan spins, but that just tells me they knew it was going to be annoying. I may have missed it, but I do wonder if this was designed more with gaming in mind where external noise isn't an issue, because it's not ideal when the fan ramps up while I'm on a Zoom call; I have to use earbuds to keep the noise off of the call. Another con for me is the keyboard; the letters are silver on silver, so it's difficult to read in anything but full lighting. The backlight does help for that, but I hate to use that in the middle of the day. Also, I love the number pad, but why oh why is there no num lock light or on-screen indicator? The num lock button is right next to backspace, so there's been plenty of times I go for the number pad and I've accidentally turned it off without knowing. That should have been a simple add, but oh well. However, aside from those annoyances, it runs very well. It's very fast and handles multi-tasking like a breeze, I've yet to have any hint of lock-up. With the SSD, boot-up and app openings are like butter, there's really no other way to go now. The touch screen is also a good addition, not "necessary", but since everything else is a touch screen it's just intuitive now. I've not really used it in the tablet mode, so I can't speak to that, but the keyboard does shut off when you flip it, so at least that awkwardness is somewhat averted. Battery-wise, it can usually handle about 4-6 hours of Zoom calls, research and writing, which to me is pretty good. But keep in mind if you're working and charging at the same time, the laptop gets pretty warm so that jet engine will be ramping up again. I prefer to fully charge before I work so I can go as long as possible without having to deal with that. If you can work around the annoyances this is a very good machine.

HP Envy X360 is an excellent computer for me. It is fast, lots of memory and has touch screen. Two things that I have seen on other reviews that occasionally come up -- sometimes, when running backup programs or especially big program, the computer can be noisy and run hot. It seems that the heat effected some padding on the bottom of the laptop that has come off. It doesn't affect performance for me and for the price and power of this computer, I am very satisfied.

I've had this laptop for a little more than a month now, and it has worked great for me! When I purchased this laptop, many reviews complained about the noise of the fan. It is a little louder than my previous laptop, but it isn't a loud or distracting fan sound. It's just a little white noise in the background. I enjoy the backlit keyboard for working at night, and so far, the speed is fantastic. I haven't used it much in tablet mode yet, but the little that I have played with it, it has performed well.

I was impressed with the super fast delivery (I got it the next day), and the computer package was in perfect condition. This is rated one of the best home-use laptops. Setup was extremely easy (with a voice guidance). FHD screen quite nice and vivid. Plenty of SSD space and memory. Boot up and operation are super fast. The build has a premium feel. Silver is standard, looks nice. The keyboard is the best among all laptops I have used. Best Buy had the best price and delivery service anywhere. The fan is not loud but can be noisy to some. It wasn't an issue to me. I then changed the fan setting to quite in HP Control center and it was fine.

I really like the design, the size, and the layout. The performance is great, for running our small business. The one thing I really don't like is that in some room lighting, the keyboard lighting is almost the same color as the key itself, so you can't see the letters/numbers/etc. Other complaints are the battery life doesn't last as long as advertised and the fan is as loud as all the reviews say, but isn't always distracting. Customer service was great for this purchase! My store was out of stock (even though the website showed there were some in stock) and turned out I would get in quicker via UPS, than to wait for the store to get another shipment, so the guy helping me basically ordered it online for me. It went on sale the very next day, so I called to inquire about the Price Match Guarantee and they gave me a credit for the price difference!
