Perfect for what I need
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a great price for what you get. It’s fast and the perfect size. I recently found out that I’d be WFH for much longer than originally anticipated and figured I’d might as well get a laptop rather than be stuck at my desk on my desktop computer all day. The fan is a bit noisy and the letters in the screen aren’t as crisp as I’d like for them to be, but it’s fast and I like that it can be used sort of like a tablet.

Really Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fan is a little loud but love the functionality, big screen, and how it is equivalent to the speed of a Mac. As a Mac user for over 10 years this was a big change but I love the computer. Just wish it had more stylus options. The only downside is that the battery life is no where near the battery life of a Macbook which is something I miss.

More than expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was more than what I expected. Super beautiful, has a grate screen size, really fast, it’s really amazing! And besides, I got it in a good price for Memorial Day so it was a good thing to buy it at that time. Even though is not at the same price, it’s totally worth it to spend a little for it. I read about the fan noise, i dint even notice it until I remembered about what people said in their review. So yea.

Excellent laptop with minor feature issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this Laptop HP - ENVY x360 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 12GB Memory - 512GB SSD + 32GB Optane - Natural Silver for almost 4 months now. It is an excellent laptop with right specs, right price and right OS. BestBuy shopping and delivery was excellent. Setting it up was very easy. McAfee AV will cover you for 1 month for virus protection. I am happy with my purchase and below are my observations. !!! Sometimes I noticed noise level is higher for a brief period and it is due to the Intel Optane service function. Since it is not impacting the performance of the system, I can ignore this. !!! One more fine tuning I did on the system is disabling the defragmentation performed by the windows 10 scheduled task because I heard defragmentation can harm the SSD disks. !!! One drawback of this laptop is it has only one CTRL key on the left. The right CTRL key has been replaced for the fingerprint biometric authentication. !!! It is my first 2-1 touchscreen laptop and when I used in tablet mode, I observed it is heavy to hold on my hand or lap but it’s okay to be on a flat surface. Still it is a lightweight laptop :-). !!! It has separate numeric pad, it is good but there is no indication of LED to indicate that it is ON. As a workaround you can enable the sound feature to indicate whether it is turned ON or OFF.

Amazing and Gorgeous
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to replace my 7 year old Mac. I chose this laptop based on brand, i7 10th gen processor, 2-1 functionality, the 32gb optane, as well as the metal casing. The only reason I considered other laptops was due to screen brightness specs. After opening up the laptop, you quickly realize that this is a premium product. Gorgeous design and build quality. The screen is glossy with an amazing image. My son has a $400 HP and you can quickly notice how amazing the ENVY screen is as well as the build quality. It has an noticeable HD image and it is bright enough. No complaints about the screen. The table mode is incredible. This is a 15" screen so it might be a little big/uncomfortable when walking around, but it is equally amazing when you have a 15" table! Top i7 process with 32gb optane makes this machine work extremely fast. Add other features such as quality built-in speakers, Alexa, modern wifi, 12 gb memory, back-lit keyboard etc... and it's a homerun! I read other reviews about fan noise. If it weren't for those reviews, I wouldn't have noticed. That is the last thing that would bother me. Honestly do not get people's issue with it as it is barely noticeable. There were other brands that had good products, but I really wanted to stick to HP. Zero regrets. Would buy all over again! The metal casing is amazing, but not MAC quality either. However, no complaints.

HP Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buying a new laptop during a pandemic has been very frustrating since I don't go into stores at this time, but with advice from my niece, who purchased one like this a couple of years ago, I'm happy with this one. I do like that start up is faster than my old one & when I'm searching for something, it pulls up faster. Love the backlit keyboard, but really wish that this laptop came in black, not a fan of the silver color. I also wish that it had a CD/DVD/Rewrite capability built into the computer. I realize I can buy an external one, but can't afford that right now & one that is already built in is so much better. Not a fan of the 15" screen size, wish it was 17" so that I can see things on the screen better. Also, I don't like the ads that pop up suddenly at the bottom of the screen or at the top of the screen when I'm looking at something or playing a game. I've been told that there is a way to stop them, but I haven't had time to figure it out. Still trying to figure out how to get my pictures transferred to this laptop from my old one. The sound of the fan running when it is updating is annoying, but at least it doesn't happen very often. Overall, this is a good laptop for what I need it for.

Runs well, battery lasts about 2 hours
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I selected this model because of the specifications. 512GB SSD 12 GB memory. I bought this when I returned another that I purchased that was effective. The other was out of stock so I paid a couple of hundred more for the HP. I have not tried to convert it to a tablet, but as a laptop it seems to work fine. My thought was that if I got an SSD instead of an HD the battery would last longer. My older HP with a HD was starting to lose battery power. This new one uses up the battery within two hours. I suspect that the cooling fan in this machine, which is always running drains the battery. I have raised the computer from the table top to allow for air flow, it doesn't seem to help. I would recommend it to a friend with a warning about the battery life since the specification suggest that it typically lasts six hours.

A Decent Laptop for the Price
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop gets the job done and for the price the specs are pretty decent. The laptop is incredibly fast, has a great sound system, has a great touch screen, and it is nice to have a full sized keyboard with a number pad. However, my main gripe with the laptop is the poor battery life, the trackpad not working consistently, and issues with overheating and fan noise. Even when the computer is idle, I find the computer overheating a lot. For a reasonable price however, this laptop still works ok for the time being for working/learning from home during this pandemic. Now that I've owned the computer for a few months, I think I'll keep using it for the time being but will probably get a better quality laptop as soon as I am able.

Excellent machine despite.....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I traded from a first gen MS Surfacebook and Surface Pro4 to the HP Envy because the programs I needed for working required more system specs. I love my MS products so this machine needed to live up to some high expectations. So far, after 1 month, it has. I've had HPs in the past and was disappointed but I'm having a different experience with this machine. The build is sleek and comfortable. My only complaints would be battery life and overheating. Even with the balanced battery settings I'm only getting 2 hours of life where I would have 6 to 8 with my older machines. The fan runs a lot and especially when I'm charging. I also wish there was at least one more USB slot but that's a minor issue. Overall, I do recommend this machine. It feels sturdy. The screen quality is pristine and the Bang und Olufsen speakers are a real treat. It took a bit but I'm now a fan of the keyboard controls. I took off 1 star due to the battery issue. I spent hours connected to the web on older machines and didn't have anywhere near this kind of drain. The overheating is concerning too as it even happens when I'm not running anything except background programs.

Good laptop for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer after 5 months still running good. Does everything I want and more. Got it on sale for $749.99 Stick around that price because anything with 8gb of ram in 2020 should not be sold for anything over $700. Fan does make noise after heavy use but fixed with bios upgrades. Good price. Don't pay over $800.

Fast, Powerful & Lightweight Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased on Black Friday 2020 for $799.99 The Good: -Superfast, turns on quickly -I can run all my Adobe cloud products with no issue (i.e., photoshop, premiere) -light weight, easy to transport -love the exterior matte silver design -I love the sleek power cord, it’s not bulky and heavy like ones I’ve had in the past -has all the ports I need, HDMI, USB 3.1, etc -Bluetooth connection -the backlit keyboard is awesome The Bad: -I had to replace my first one because something was wrong with the speakers, it was making static noise -the second one I got kept rebooting every time I turned it on, as if it was brand new and had been completely reset, it eventually just stopped so hopefully that doesn’t happen again -once while using it the fan got really loud like how some other reviewers had mentioned, which I thought wasn’t supposed to happen with SSDs, but it only happened once so far, so we’ll see -the exterior while pretty, gets scratched easily Overall would still recommend, a lot of power for a laptop and excellent price.

Great portable upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer was an upgrade from my 2013 HP Envy with comparable specs even though my 2013 had a larger storage space this computer has been very welcomed with it's increased speed and portability. I purchased this with the intent to also use it as a digital drawing board, but have not yet tested that interaction with a stylus. I wish the batter life was longer, but sometimes you sacrifice somethings for others, more money would have probably given me longer batter life. Overall, this computer was a great price for the specs. I am pleased with the purchase.

Gets the job done
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to order a new laptop fast being that I WFH during the pandemic. I needed to be able to access a camera and my old laptop, the built-in camera no longer worked. I hate to make rushed purchases like computer purchases but I was in a time crunch. I did some comparative shopping and settled on this one despite some of the negative reviews. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. Been using it for a few days now. Set up was easy and quick. Keyboard backlight is a new and cool feature that I enjoy. Sound is good and it gets the job done. Battery life is a little bit of a concern but for now, I'll just deal with it. Outside of that, no real issues to point out and it functions as stated.

like my new lap top
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never had a laptop so it took me a while to make my decision. I remember reading the reviews for this model and seeing the comments on how loud the fan is when you are using it. I want to state that the laptop has the option to lower the fan speed if it bothers you. This is not a big deal as the noise becomes 'white noise' after a well. I love the backlit keyboard and the number keypad as I work with numbers. I would have liked for it to have the function keys for some of the programs I have to use but I did not realize this when I bought it, my mistake. This is the reason I gave it 4 stars. Everything else works great.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the color and design and features. Great for students
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keyboard - let's face it, the keyboard is the most important interface. I have never typed on a better laptop keyboard, in terms of spacing and feel. It is easy, accurate, and has lasted for years. Backlit, numerical keypad, etc. It works well, and the keys are spaced appropriately for easy use. This is important. Track pad - the track pad works fine. The buttons are responsive, and don't feel dead - this is a big problem on Dells - which just don't feel right. Screen - the screen is nice - not as nice as the 4k OLED on my Spectre 13, but it works for phot editing. Speed - this came with 16GB, a 1TB drive, and an i7 CPU. It generally works great. If I replaced the HDD with an SSD, I'd imagine a few more years of use with this. It is surprising how well this has lasted. The x360 ages well.

Good student laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Screen size is pretty big and nice, and I appreciated the number pad on the keyboard. Backlit keyboard had 2 brightness levels, which is nice, and I really loved how the fingerprint scanner was integrated into the keyboard layout instead of separate like other laptop designs. My comment would be that it was pretty heavy, although that's to be somewhat expected with the size and the fact that the outer casing is aluminum instead of plastic. Everything felt high quality. I ended up trading it in, though, as I had found a laptop with 16 RAM and an included pen for the same price, which this one did not have, although I did sacrifice screen size. If you really need the bigger screen, this would be a good bet for you.

Excellent Laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost - with all the fan speed concern, I noticed these issues right away too out of the box. But with any new computer, you have to do a series of updates and installs until the computer is 100% so the fans will be going off constantly until completely updated. I also keep it in on the "quiet" setting and I barely hear the fans start up unless I charge the laptop while it's on. After all is said and done, the computer runs amazingly well. It boots up extremely fast and is relatively quiet under normal workloads. What's great is that you can charge this computer using a usb-c charger. Granted it doesn't come with one but what makes it better is that the regular charger is on the right side and the usb-c is on the left side so you have access to either side to charge the laptop. The laptop is easy to open(you need 2 hands though), the case feels premium with without it feeling like you're holding a tin can and the keyboard feels tactical with no flex with 2 back lighting options and also has smooth/responsive track pad. The screen is bright with thin bezels and the colors pop. The audio is crisp with the voices being clear and the music has a good punch. The power button is now part of the keyboard which is right above the backspace and I was concerned about accidentally hitting it. To overcome this, I changed it in the setting to do nothing(which by default puts it to sleep) and now there's no issues at all. You can still shut it down by holding the power button for more than 5 seconds. The fingerprint reader replaced the right ctrl key and works perfectly. This laptop has pretty much everything you can need, has a good amount of ports and feels premium at a great price.

Absolutely LOVE this laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whenever I purchase any tech, I feel that I have to go into the store and hold it and play with it for a while to be sure that I like the feel of it. Due to the coronavirus, I was unable to go into Best Buy and do that. I did a lot of research on what I wanted out of a new laptop and decided on this one. I ordered it online and it was shipped to my house. I was literally in love with it within the first two minutes. It has been Almost a month now, and I love it as I had since day one. The start up is practically instant, The screen is crisp and clear with an amazing resolution, and everything runs so darn fast! It has the fingerprint sensor which is great for not having to type in your password anymore. The WebCam is HD and gives off great video. I am 100% happy with my purchase.
