    A computer that works

We were looking for a new laptop, but unfortunately couldn't shop in the store due to COVID-19 restrictions, so we ordered blindly online. Our main need was a good camera and video card so the kids can do their karate classes, scout meetings, etc through Zoom. We purchased and returned three computers before landing on this one. All had issues with bad cameras, difficulty connecting to TV through HDMI, and one even crashed mid-Zoom meeting!!! We spent a little more than we hoped, but ended up with this one and we love it! Its a tad heavy and when the fan kicks in it is somewhat loud, but not terribly so. The kids love the touchscreen, and we love the brilliant screen and backlit keyboard. This is by fay the best laptop we have had to date!

Pros: 1) Fast processor 2) Nice display 3) Responsive keyboard 4) Quick start-up time Cons: 1) Cracking sound coming from speakers that hasn't been resolved 2) Battery life is worse than I expected 3) Heavier than I expected 4) Issues with touchpad (not as responsive as I would've expected) 5) Loud fan If I had to do this again, I would probably purchase a Macbook for the same cost.

What an absolute workhorse. I did quite literally several hours worth of research stretched out over a week and landed on this. You just can’t beat this price for the intel core i7, 2-in-1 style, memory + ssd... all of it. It is exactly what I need and more. Once in a while she runs hot, the fan is loud. Often referenced in these reviews, but truly, it’s the only major thing I notice about this computer that’s even kind of lame in comparison to all of its features. I even got an amazing open box deal with this one which I was nervous and cautiously optimistic about. Not a scratch or hair whatsoever, so I really scored. I am completely over the moon with this computer. Unpopular opinion but having run a macbook pro for almost 10 years: I am just not a mac person. This computer is sleek and has weight to it. The hinges and corners and screen and mouse feel sturdy. SD slot included. AMAZING speakers, not that anyone really plays music out loud off a computer these days, but this thing certainly entices me to. Awesome screen/colors/brightness. Running the internet, spotify, lightroom and photoshop all at once doesn’t slow it down one bit. I bought an HP pen (the all gray one) off of HP website and it works perfect with this touch screen. Battery power is to be expected with such a powerful computer. I don’t find it an issue, but some might. I get about 6? or so hours of heavy use on a full charge. Sometimes more sometimes less depending on what I’m doing.

    BEST LAPTOP EVER

I went back and forth on what i wanted, whether regular laptop or 2 in 1, speed, cost, etc. I ended up buying the HP-ENVY 2 in 1 finally at a great sale price since it was ended up cheaper than the older model and less than a regular laptop with less memory and GGB. I was on the fence since it had some borderline bad reviews. Well i must say it works awesome. It is fast, it is quick, it is easy to work with and find what you need. Yes you can hear the fan, very very slightly. but it doesn't bother me or interfere with my work or concentration so it not a big deal. I must say i am very happy with this laptop and highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to replace their old one.

To start off, this is the second HP-ENVY that I have had the pleasure using. The first time I used this laptop it was for school and I was actually borrowing it from my mom. This year I had the opportunity to buy my own and I upgraded to the i7 from the i5 core processor. It is high quality with great visuals and sound. The set up is super easy and the added features are great (fingerprint security, camera on/off button) to name a few. The battery life is great and it’s lightweight which makes it easier to travel with. Working from home and having to take my college classes online, this laptop really got me through it all. I highly recommend!

So far, so good! I love the lightweight of this laptop and the slick look of it. The touchscreen is fast and the lighted keyboard is a nice addition. The keyboard is sensitive meaning that the letters are easy to press without having to force or put a lot of pressure on it. I've only had it for a few days to actually play with it. The colors are bright and the sound is loud. The only thing that I'm not happy about is the fact that the power button is integrated with F buttons along the top. Which makes me scared that I might accidentally turn the power off while typing. Other than that, it's been good so far!

Had this laptop for a week and I'm getting it set up easily. I hope to have this for many years. Pro's so far 1. Battery so far has lasted at least 3 hours ( that's how long I'm on, never lost power) 2. Very light in weight 3. Fingertouch easy to use. 4. Can use touchscreen at any time. 5, Very quiet. Cons so far 1. After being on it, a very high sound comes on from the fan, I think. Not too bad. 2. Gets warm on lap after awhile, but most laptops do.

I recently bought this computer because i needed somthing fast with alot of storage. Its a great computer! it is super fast and takes care of everything i need it to. However, The battery life isn't all that great... so beware that if your're taking online classes and or you use ZOOM alot... the batter will only last like two hours at the most. if youre not using zoom it lasts around 4 or 5. so its not that bad. The fan is also pretty loud sometimes when it first comes on but you can quiet that down. Great buy for the price!

It was time to replace my laptop and I landed on the HP ENVY. I like so many things including the touch-screen, the ability to switch it over to a tablet and the look. There is one thing that happens now and again that will drive me crazy if it continues...the fan will start up and it is very loud. It doesn't always happen, but enough so far that it is irritating. Right now it is quiet, so I'm good.

I got this to replace my first gen spectre x360 which I have had for five years. It's got a stylish aluminum case and the screen is edge to edge. I got the one with the 15.6 inch version with the 10th gen i7 chip. Overall I'm pretty happy with the purchase but there some areas where I wish they offered options. I wish they offered 16GB of RAM but 12GB was the limit on this one. I wish it had additional USB-C and USB 3.0 ports. It looks like there is space available but it's got one C and 2 3.0 ports. I wish they would get rid of the SD Card slot. I don't know anyone that still uses it. I imagine a small niche group like photographers might use it? But I have never had anyone ever tell me they need a memory card reader when a usb port is available. I wish they offered a version without the 10-key numeric keyboard. It makes the keyboard off-center. I'm sure some people still use a 10-key but it should be an option for people that actually want/need it. I wish they offered a dedicated graphics card on this model. Not just an integrated version. They only offer it on the larger screen version. I wish they had a power on button on the side of the laptop. It's currently a key on the keyboard so you have to open it to turn it on. Not a problem for most people but I use mine with a docking station with multiple monitors so it's annoying I have to open it to turn it on then close it after it loads the Windows login screen. Same for the fingerprint reader. It would have been great if they had it on the outside of the lid/screen or as an option. The last thing I wish they would have offered is a higher capacity battery option. This thing is pretty responsive and the screen is beautiful but the heat fat runs more often than not and it's loud and the battery life is only a couple of hours if you're doing anything like watching video, playing a game, or compiling code. Other than that wish list, I'm still giving this four stars for the affordable price, look, feel, and durability of it.

I have not had this laptop long enough to explore the many features it is capable of doing. Some of the things I like so far are: The stereo sound, (it is very good coming from such a thin device), The touch screen and tablet configuration is new for me. It is fast and handles my light work load adequately. Voice recognition works well. No problem with fan noise as some claimed. Battery life seems to be good, have had more than 4 hours of continuous operation so far. It boots up and shuts down fast. I have had no problems with this machine that's worth mentioning so far. It is pretty good !!!

My 10 year old laptop was having little bugs here and there, and I felt it was time to get something newer. Couldn’t have gone with a better choice! The 2 in 1 feature has rendered my tablet a fancy paper weight. Using computers for work gave me some intel on features I do and don’t like, and the Envy didn’t disappoint in any way!! It’s lightweight and the quiet, back lit keyboard is nice and smooth too. I’d highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a versatile, reliable machine!!

This computer is much faster than my old one. I upgraded from a laptop that was about 10 years old though. When the fan runs, it is pretty noisy. Sometimes with a high pitched sound like it is going to take off. The battery life is shorter than I would like. I cannot use if for a full day without plugging it in. I don't use the touch screen or folding over like a tablet as much as I thought I would but do like having the option. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Bought this for my nephew who is living with me while going to college. He's used to and is more comfortable/familiar with Apple devices from MacBook pros to iPhones. But, the Apple computers did not fit the budget. He really likes this machine. It's plenty fast. Has touch screen which was a must as was the screen quality. It ticked all the boxes. And, is exactly what he needs to get him thru 2 years of school. Hopefully it'll last much longer.

Had this laptop about 2 weeks now and really like it. Smoking fast. Not sure how much I will ultimately use the tablet mode, as it makes for quite a large tablet, but nice to have convertible options. Also, I have heard the loud fan issue some reviewers complain about, but it is only occasional and I assume the machine is working on something in the background. Speakers are only so-so for music, but that’s not why I got it, personally.

So far I am loving this lap top. I bought it to use with my cameo silhouette as my other computer lagged constantly. This HP is fast. The touchscreen is very convenient. I have had a few issues with the back-lighting on my keyboard, it does not like to stay on. And just recently have had some lagging, but nothing a restart hasn’t fixed. Hopefully it’s just because my son has been using it more often for school work. I would recommend. Thumbs up.

I literally love this laptop. I live that you can use as a touchscreen, and as a laptop all in lone. Simple as just flipping your laptop over and it automatically asks if you want to use tablet mode. What I don’t like is the only one usb drive. I like to use an external mouse and there is only one usb cable. Once I stop working from home this shouldn’t be an issue. Still would be nice to be able to charge my phone and use the mouse at the same time

We purchased this laptop during the pandemic for my wife's use. This is an excellent laptop. We downloaded several apps since she was attending online classes at the time and it was required. The laptop is fast, classy and easy to set up. I highly recommend HP products and advise to get Intel versus AMD. I'm getting ready to purchase a new HP laptop as I'm impressed with my wife's laptop.
