This laptop is pretty good, the screen is good but not the best. The HDD is pretty slow, so you will definitely want to upgrade, just need to take out a couple of screws and open it up to put in a M.2 SSD or remove the HDD and put in a regular 2.5" SSD. Just like everyone said there are a few errors out of the box but if you use the HP assist application, it will upgrade all of your driver and BIOS. These updates immediately fix any issues mentioned. You can't go wrong for the price. The build quality is amazing, feels very premium. Except for the screen, it is a bit too flimsy but only noticeable when you move it harshly or quickly. Would recommend for this price point.

I think that this is a good laptop once you do all the updates. At first it was slow and laggy. I almost returned the computer. I did the updates and wow!! What a difference.. great quality build. Back light is a little lower then I’d like.. over all a good buy

The laptop does everything I need it to do. fast processor (I7), tablet mode is very convenient especially when using ink pen. only downside is there is no dvd player, hence 4 star rating.

Love this computer and who would have thought that would come out of my mouth? I've been a Mac user of over a decade and I've finally made the switch and I'm not regretting it at all. Fast computer, great screen resolution, touch screen is a dream. If I have any complaints or some sort of critical feedback it would be that the Face recognition isn't great and for my purposes I don't use it that much in tablet configuration.

Great computer for multi tasking specially if you're running multiple windows at once. Battery life is not that great but there's a lot of outlets around my location so it's fine.

Very quick, easy to handle and navigate. Would recommend for students and comes with full features

only purchased this Thanksgiving 2017. So I still don't know how far this will go. The appearance looks elegant and has good performance based on what is called for to do.

Bought this PC when my other one became too clunky and slow to really fix. This was a great decision. Fast. Lightweight. Clear display. Enough memory for basic needs.

I've owned it less than a week. Latest gen i7 processor, 16gb and FHD, not bad, plus I got a student discount, so it cost $804 plus tax. The one thing it doesn't have is SSD storage, but the 1 TB hard drive is reasonably fast, and I can swap in SSD later. Still getting used to touch screen. The speakers are on the bottom of the chassis. When I ran back and forth between the machines testing speeds (e.g. how fast Word came up), I honestly couldn't tell a difference. I didn't power them both down and up; the Dell probably would have booted up faster. But hey, you aren't powering down/up all day long.

I thought that for the price I paid that this was a good purchase - the touch screen is pretty neat. Maybe it's more than I need, but that's better than not enough!

Good laptop but can be much better if an SSD was made standard. Easy to upgrade. Would highly recommend adding an SSD or NVME M.2 (Samsung 960 EVO) drive to increase speed. Be careful when removing the bottom cover, aluminum edges are very sharp! There is no screw provided to secure the NVME M.2 drive I purchased separately, but there was a loose screw in the case...and it was the right size. RAM is good at 16GB. 8th Gen Core i7 is quick and handles lots of processes at once. Was worried about purchasing Intel with latest security issues and patches that were going to throttle speeds, but have not noticed significant slowdowns. 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB C, memory card reader, and HDMI out. No built-in ethernet connection, but you can purchase a USB C hub/ethernet adapter pretty cheap from other places. I have since replaced the factory 1TB drive with an older Samsung 850 EVO. I now have two Samsung SSDs installed. Boot time into windows is very quick! Transfer speeds are incredible. One issue - be careful removing the rubber strip (has 4 hidden screws underneath) when opening the case. Strip easily tears and does not want to stay in place after you are finished. Sound is amazing from the Bang & Olufsen speakers. I would have rated this laptop 5 Stars had it come with an SSD standard. Other brands (even HP) in this price range offer an SSD along with the standard hdd. I was able to price match the Samsung 960 EVO with a Best Buy competitor and saved $50.

I really like everything about this lap top. I have been working and playing with it for about 2 weeks and have no complaints. Very fast. Love the touch screen.

Finally got my wife away from her desk anchor and onto a laptop. She used a Surface Pro 2 for a few years, but it never felt like a new home to her. But she has really taken to this Envy. She is moving her files over and has a new USB drive for it to store backups and the files that she doesn't carry with her on the sizeable harddrive or in the cloud. She loves having a proper keyboard and the touchscreen option ready to go at all times. And the digitizer pen we got her works great. I went in for a new Surface Pro and came out with something she loves that costs less and provides more.

I love my two in one computer. The tablet is easy to use and I can draw with a stylus or just use my finger. Easy to use and navigate with the set up tutorial.

Since my old HP was about to die I thought that this would be the perfect upgrade and so far I am truly impressed with the speed and graphics. Nice job HP!!!

Too big for me to use as tablet and didn't lke recurring pop up about using authentic HP charger and then thanking me for using authentic HP charger. Made no sense. Bought in a hurry because of sale that was expiring and salesman's reassurance that I would love as much as my Mac, but at less cost. I didn't. It did have a beautiful display and liked touch screen, but it still went back.

My son loves the laptop. We bought this one because of the faster speed for how m to play video games along with being able to do his homework. He lives it.

I love the lighted keyboard, and light weight frame of this laptop. Battery life could be better. If I were to buy today I would have went with a larger screen.

Easy to use great to handle however it is definitely not a light computer. But it isn't heavy either. Love the touch screen and the conversion to an I-pad.
