This printer works well. The only thing I would change is it doesn't have automatic duplex printing.

I was not aware that this printer doesn't do standard duplexing. Paper must be reentered a second time.

Easy setup and quality is better than my inkjet printer. Only issue is that it does not automatically duplex.

I needed a new printer and chose to switch to laser. This printer serves the purpose well. It prints clean and crisp copies of text and graphic images. The only thing I was disappointed with is that it is not an auto duplex printer. It is an inconvenience when printing a sizeable document (10+ pages). Clearly a "productivity design flaw" not to include an auto duplex for two sided printing. Aside from that, it has everything I need.

Good reliable printer, happy with the print quality, easy to setup. The only CON is that it doesn't do automatic duplex. That means if you wnt to print double-sided, you have to print one side, then manually flip the paper, put it back

    No Duplex Printing

Every aspect of this printer seems great EXCEPT there is no automatic duplex printing (despite the printer NOT being filtered out on the Best Buy website when I selected "Double-Sided Printing). Apparently I did not do enough homework on this before pulling the trigger, but am returning it now that I found out it does not print double-sided automatically. If you want duplexing, purchase the MFP m477fdw model.

I liked everything about this printer, but the only downfall was it didn't the automatic duplex printing, you have to do it manually. I returned it for m477fdw model which does it automatically. Other than that this is a great printer

I love this printer. I swapped it fir the fdw because it did not have automatic duplex. If you don't need duplex, buy it!

DOES NOT PRINT BOTH SIDES OF THE PAPER WHICH IS WHAT I NEED MOST. BUT I CAN PRING BOTH SIDES ONE PAGE AT A TIME SO I CHOOSE TO LIVE WITH THIS SHORT COMMING. A PRINTER OF THIS QUALITY SHOULD PRINT BOTH SIDES OF THE PAPER OR YOU SHOULD ADVERTISE THAT THIS PRNTER DOES NOT DUPLEX BE CAUSE I WOULD NOT HAVE BROUGHT IT IF I NEW IT DID NOT DUPLEX. OTHER THAN THAT I LOVE THIS PRINTER BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANOTHER WITHOUT TELLING THEM THAT IT DOES NOT DUPLEX.

Printer is a nice quality which you would expect. Description was a bit misleading, there isn't a duplexing unit in this printer, it is manual duplexing. With the price of 4 toner cartridges, the printers could be lower. They would make up the money in toner.

I was all excited to upgrade from my ink jet all in one. I wish I never had. This thing is a major pain. It won't duplex without taking the pages out and replacing them in the tray. There's no way to run multiple docs as duplex. You have to do them one at a time. It won't auto feed (I have to press a button for each job). It took me an hour to figure out how to scan.... Everything about this printer is hard. All the online help I could find in several hours of searching has been unable to help me make this work as seamlessly as my $100 all in one. I'll just use it until the toner has been consumed, then I'm throwing it away!

Why would a printer be available without the capability to print on both sides of the page in this digital-happy age? I didn't dig too deep into the details of this printer, but I am surprised and extremely disappointed this printer does offer double sided printing (duplex printing). I went into the store and asked an associate for help finding a color laser printer that could connect wirelessly and could scan/copy, I was given a few options. I had my small children with me so I didn't have the time to get all the details about the printer, but was not informed it is only a one sided printer. Otherwise, I am happy with the printer and have used older models of this printer at work.

Was tired of dealing with inkjets for years and decided to give this one a go. The setup was incredibly easy on one PC and incredibly difficult on another (never really completely set up, I blame the PC though). I is SOOO much faster than the ink jets and what a delight to have it come out dry immediately without smudging. My only complaint would be that duplex (2 sided) printing is manual and not automatic. Other than that, no complaints at all.

We were using this printer as an upgrade from an existing Canon MX922 when changing the home office from personal/business use to full-time small business. Unfortunately, I did not realize that it is not capable of Automatic Duplex Printing and will have to exchange it on the M477fdw model. Print quality is reasonable the retail price (good IMHO considering the deep sale price currently available). I reprinted a business proposal which was recently printed at a FedEx Office center, and the quality is about 85-90% (although some of that may be optional better paper stock that we had the FedEx Office use). Putting the quality next to the MX922's old output is no contest. MX922's output looks like 30% the m477's (as one would expect given the price and format difference). Font from the m477 is Crisp, Colors are much Brighter, and images/graphics are much more clear when using standard paper. As a LaserJet, the m477 is not capable of edge-to-edge printing, but it should do the trick for most of our business printing needs (even good enough for some marketing materials, although others may have a more critical eye than I). . It's too early to speak to price per page, but I expect that the optional 410X (vs standard 410A) toner cartridges should help to keep cost down slightly. PC Mag puts cost per page at "2.2 cents per monochrome page and 13.6 cents per color page" which is a bit on the higher side, but nothing extraordinary given the low-to-medium print duties for we'll be using it. I would only not recommend the printer because lack of auto-duplex printing seems silly for a printer of this price (although apparently not unheard-of). Otherwise, it seems solid.

This was an upgrade for my small business, from an inkjet color printer. It costs much more but is a professional grade printer and handles standard and legal size paper. Two caveats: 1. Cost of inks (full set of OEM HP ink cartridges costs $450). 2. Unless you get a duplex designated model, it will not do automatic duplex printing.

Printer works okay. The sign on it was a bit deceiving in that the Duplex print function is manual not automatic. It will print one side and then one needs to take the paper out placing it in the paper feed tray. Then one needs to start the printer up from the control panel to print the other side, It was easy to setup and install on my network. The duplex scanning function works well without manual intervention. Other than the duplex printing it is a decent printer.

I avoided color laser printers because I read that they are not good for photos. Well, I was sick of paying for ink all the time and decided to try the color laser. I am impressed with the color quality and although I have not printed an actual photo, the color graphics from web sites, and maps, and downloaded pics for school projects have been fantastic. I will never own an ink jet again! The only minor downside is that it is a manual duplex printer. So, if you are going to be printing more than the occasional double sided docs then you might want to consider a full duplex printer.

Printer works great through WiFi from 3 home computers and direct from iPad and iPhone. Copy is ok; scan, FAX and other features not tried yet. Down grade is only for difficulty buying due to the 3 different part number suffixes that are not clearly explained except deep in the manual. The salesman was also unaware. I wanted the duplex feature (2 sided printing) which is not on the "fnw" version. This is complicated by the insistence by HP that all three are "duplex", just not "automatic duplex". The fnw does not have the paper flipper installed so is "manual duplex", meaning it prints all the odd pages and prompts you to turn the stack over and reinsert in the tray by hand to print the even pages on the backs. It would seem that by this definition, all printers have always been "manual duplex". This wasn't clear until I had spent time setting up the printer and trying to print double sided. I then took it back to exchanged it for the "fdw" which has the flipper installed. @@@@@@@@ The "fdn" has the flipper but no print server for wireless connectivity). Unfortunately the warehouse folks didn't read the part number right and shipped me another fnw. The third time was the charm, so, although I picked up the original printer same-day, it was 2 weeks to finally get printing (and flipping). Lesson learned: don't rely on the salesman to save you from such details, as high tech products these days are complicated. On the upside, the flipper is very nice and smooth, better than the one on my prior HP (an inkjet) bought 5 years ago, which has been a little noisy.
