When our old printer started acting up I looked to go with an all in one to add to our home's capabilities. Not looking to spend a lot I found this gem that handles all my needs without breaking the bank. I have used the fax, copier and printer and have been pleased with all. I did choose to stay away from the ink plan as it did not seem beneficial to me. Great device for home use.

The printer that I actually wanted to buy is a $300 Epson photo printer. But I decided to wait on a photo printer for another time and just go for the much cheaper HP OfficeJet 3830 for everyday printing. This is my first wireless printer and that aspect is really convenient because I can print from my MacBook Pro or iPhone with ease. However, I can’t believe how much ink it goes through. Every single printer I’ve ever used in the past has allowed you to adjust the ink and other settings..... so you could print, say, a draft version which uses much less ink. With this printer I can’t find a way to adjust the ink settings, and I don’t even think there is a way. I printed three articles which contains three pictures and it used 1/3 of the ink!

Easy set up work wirelessly and through the LAN definitely would get another one.

I am a fan of HP printers! My first HP printer was purchased in 2003; did all the 4 in 1 stuff. It finally conked out this year 2016. I'd say that's a pretty good record length of time. Thank you HP!!

Great printer for simple home use. Very compact and easy to install.

I got this printer for christmas it is an awesome printer but after two print jobs it crapped out on me after two print jobs and I called on HP and in no time at all they were able to determine it was a manufactures defect and it was under warranty so they shipped me a new one and now its an awesome printer

Printer shopping is always a daunting task. There’s endless negative reviews for every printer, but I decided to just go for it on this one. The setup is easy if you are more tech-savvy, but I can see how the setup can be confusing to people who have less tech. Try to just follow the prompts as seen and customize the settings later. It makes the setup much easier. This printer is perfect if you don’t print too much. It’s not the fastest at printing, but it’s also not the slowest I’ve used. I do recommended using a slightly heavier paper because the wheels had a hard time grabbing cheap printer paper I happened to have, but since I’ve switched to a thicker paper, I’ve had no problems. I don’t print often, and so far it has worked wonders. I don’t have to run to a print shop or my college campus to print anymore! The main reason I use it is actually for the scanner. It scans a bit slow, but it’s can produce up to 1600 dpi scans with the glass top so I’m not gonna complain! I use HP Instant Ink, and so far I have paid nothing for ink. Their free plan is enough for all of my printing needs. I haven’t even had to replace the starter ink yet, though I was sent the replacements already. Overall, for occasional print jobs, this printer gets it done.

So far, so good. Excellent 3-in-1 unit. Doesn't take up too much tabletop space. Easy to set up. Document feed is an added bonus. I'm a long-time user of HP printers and I've not gotten a bad one yet. I ordered it online and it arrived 2 days later. Not bad at all. It replaces an HP 3-in-1 that I worked to death. Won't happen with this unit. I recommend it.

I was impressed how easy this was to set up. Connecting to my Chromebook was easy and the wireless printing feature is a bonus. The touch screen display makes navigating easy. Definitely get quality prints to the price of the printer. I am bummed that I can't use the fax feature as we no longer have a land line, but all the other features are well worth the price.
