Printer was easy to set up. Nice copies when paper feeds, but has trouble recognizing paper in tray and continually gives error message that it is out of paper.

Printer works very well. Only complaint is that paper tray sometimes jams because of the angle it feeds into the printer

I was specifically looking for an all-in-one printer with a flatbed & that could do double sided copies. This printer doesn't have a paper tray and requires you to flip the paper after it prints on one side and insert it again to print on the back. Returned immediately to get a different printer.

Seems to do an okay job. I got it pretty cheap and I do like the instant ink program, but drawers and paper trays feel pretty flimsy. Wifi printing from Mac and iPhone works well

I bought this printer because it was on sale, but had trouble setting it up. Once I got it set up, it prints okay but can jam with a stack of printer paper in the tray, so I have to use one piece of paper at a time, which gets a little annoying. Overall, I would rather it was easier to set up and use but if you just need a cheap all in one printer, it's okay. I haven't used the scanner or copy functions, just the printer function.

This printer fits my basic need. I was disappointed it wasn't duplex capable, even with its tray. But I am grad student so it okay. It is cheaper at places other than bestbuy

An inexpensive printer. There really isn't much to say. Paper has to be inconveniently loaded into a vertical tray. If you don't a printer to do much other than print documents, this is for you

Overall I'm satisfied with this printer. The print quality is decent for my personal purposes. The only complaint I have is that the paper tray is so small. It would be better if there was a larger feed tray and a better catcher. Do not be fooled into thinking you need to install the software. You can easily connect it to the WiFi manually on the printer itself without downloading the software with the annoying prompts to sign up for their ink service.

This printer is very easy to set up and it's printing beautifully. Time will tell if it will last a long time. It doesn't have a paper tray. I knew that when I bought it and that wasn't a deal breaker for me. It does let you feed into the scanner from the top. The little part that supports the newly printed sheets coming out of it's a little flimsy. Overall a great buy for the price.

I read reviews on many printers before I decided on the OfficeJet 3830. I really didn't want the paper tray in the upright position in the rear of the machine, but its been ok. The output paper tray could have been built better but it does the job. I had read reviews that it was hard to connect to Wi-Fi if your modem was a certain distance from the printer. My modem is 2 rooms away & had no problem whatsoever. Super easy to set up once you get it home. I also joined the HP Instant Ink plan. If you only print occasionally like I do (50 pages a month), for $2.99 a month is a no brainer.

I was overall disappointed. It couldn't print double sided without having to reload it in tray. It was slow at connecting and actually start printing. I would often think it didn't go through because I would have to wait so long. I didn't like that t couldn't connect to Ethernet. I did like how small it was though. And if you don't care how fast it is, this is the printer for you. The quality of print was decent but didn't try color on it. I ended up returning this item.

    Horrible Printing Experience

For starters, the printer on the website says that it has automatic double sided printing. From my understanding that means you do not manually flip the pages to print double sided - the printer does it for you. This printer does not do this, you have to manually flip the pages. Secondly, it constantly gets paper jams. I tried to print a 66 page lab manual for my upcoming class and it jammed ten papers before it told me it was jammed, then when I fixed the jam - it was halfway through printing- it RESTARTED the print job, meaning I wasted approx. 30 pages of my own paper. The loading on the paper tray is weird because it sits very high up, almost out of the tray. You have to hit the top of the paper to get it to go properly in place (this happens when the sizing brackets are loose or to fit). Overall this was a really bad printer and I will be returning it and getting another one. I've had HP printers in the past and they haven't been this finicky and glitchy, I do not recommend anyone by this, it's worth it to spend $10 more for a better hp printer. Side note: The Best Buy store in Chico, CA also told me that this printer had automatic double sided printing and that I would not have to manually flip the pages, but this is not the case.
