Ok, but broke after 18 months of little use

This device worked decent for the most part. Seems to use up ink more than printers we have had in the past. But after 18 months with little use (556 pages printed) the print carriage is stuck even though you can go through some steps to free it to replace cartridges When you close the cover it goes through steps, but then ultimately the print head cover does not seem to be retracting and the carriage will not move. We have gone through all the troubleshooting steps to no avail. We are going to have to buy a new printer.

A very Capable home printer. Purchased printer as replacement for current hp printer that is no longer supported by hp in terms of software updates. I also wanted to take advantage of the hp instant ink program. I thought and was led to believe this by salesman. Turns out in my case, with the little amount of printing we do, it would cost us more than current cartridge purchases. Keep in mind this program you pay monthly for is only for a discount on cartrides and based on the amount you print.

I bought this for work so I could scan documents to myself since our company copy machine that also has scanning capabilities is a piece of sh** and for that purpose it does a fine job. The setup took me a moment since I've never done it before but it was a pretty painless process. My only con is that you can't set a password for the printer to prevent other computers on the same WIFI network from adding and printing on it but maybe I just haven't figured that out yet. Although, I did search online for a way and most blogs/forums stated it wasn't a feature. Either way, great product. I'm happy.

I bought the OfficeJet Pro 6968 a couple of months ago, and am VERY satisfied with the features I have used so far. Haven't used the FAX yet, so I hesitated to give this 5 Stars until I do. The photo function is great as well as the scan and print. The only thing I might warn people about are the 3 separate color ink requirements. I will say that the printer indicates the color levels from time-to-time and I will purchase only those colors that run down the most; rather than the full set I purchased in addition to the included set. Overall: I am VERy pleased with this printer!

This is my 5th HP printer - bought some in the past for the kids in college as well. Have to say I have never had a bad experience with any HP printer in the past and this one seems to be following in the footsteps of all the others. The only reason I bought this one is because I wanted to have the ability to print double-sided papers instead of having to print the odd pages, reload the paper, and then print the even pages...got to be tedious....along with the auto paper feed. My previous printer still works and I've had it for about 8 years. I only bought this one for the additional features

My wife's HP LaserJet 100 finally died and I bought this as an interim replacement and it has worked great. We signed up for the HP instant delivery for $2.99 per month and this has not been a bad deal for us. Of course our printing needs have declined some as my wife does not work from home much anymore and I only work from home on occasion, so this will not replace a good laser printer if you do a lot of printing, but these days for us it is perfect.

Print quality is very good, constant tech probs

    Posted

Print quality is very good for a home printer. However, it is aggravating that the printer uses 902 cartridges, which are harder to find at some stores. Why does this company keep designing new printer cartridges? Also, there are constant communication problems with the printer. So bad that I had to get a cable to connect it to the desktop, and not use the wireless system. So now we can only print from one PC. Does not effectively work with other programs, and frequent errors in communication and finding the printer. Pick another model.

      Hi,

I am sorry that you've had a hard time finding the cartridges in local stores. It might be easier to order them online.

I got this printer to replace my old HP all in 1 printer and I must say that this printer blows the old one out of the water. I feel that for the low price I paid for this printer you get a lot in return. I like the fact that you can do everything from the touch screen on the front of the printer. I also like that you can either make a copy of a document by scanning it or by placing it on the feeder tray on top. Overall I am very satisfied so far. The only thing I don't know yet is how many pages I'll be able to get out of the ink cartridges.

I'm running 3 businesses out of my home and tried doing it with regular visits to Fedex office. Now I can make my own flyers, brochures, changes in hours of operation, etc easily with my new printer. The best part is the ink program that comes with it. I signed up online, paid a small fee and now I get a notice when my ink gets low and it automatically re-ups. It's fabulous! And, of course, hp is the best!

This is the best HP printer I’ve ever owned. Part of the improvement is their software which really manages all of your printing and scanning needs efficiently. I can open their HP app on my laptop, tell it to scan to me, feed the document into the feeder, and voila the scanned image appears instantly. Scanning was formerly difficult on many HP models, especially those without a document feeder. Glad I purchased this multi tasking printer as it fits my home office needs perfectly!

I love this printer. I bought this for my college student and decided to hook it up at home to try it out first. It works great and prints so fast. I love it so much that I'm going to buy another one for home and get rid of my three year old printer. Another great feature is that I can scan documents and have it sent to my computer without having to save it to a flash drive or memory card.

I needed to buy a new printer that was compatible with Windows 10 so that I could scan my tax documents for my tax lady. She lives very far away and it is not possible to meet one on one. This particular machine, however, has saved the day. I was able to scan my documents easily as well as making a few late night corrections and was able to get them back to her through this wonderful machine. Going forward, l will be able to print, scan and fax (which I was wasn't expecting at all) whenever needed. As well, an unexpected bonus is that is was on sale Woo Hoo!

This replaced an older HP printer. The ink usage seems to have improved, although the older one was also good. Speed of BW documents is excellent. Seems a bit slower on making copies, but we are only talking maybe 20 seconds or so. Color is very good, including color prints. Wifi connected very quickly at setup - an issue I was concerned about. Paper tray holds a lot more than the previous HP. Switching to color print paper is easier - that was one reason I wanted to change to a newer model. Very pleased with the printer.

Worst experience I've ever had with printer

This printer is not really wireless. won't stay connected to the internet. Loses connection and reconnects wasting TONS of paper because it half prints a page then tries again half prints again and finally gets it done. VERY SLOW. Finally gave up and bought a long cable but was miserable to install software because it kept prompting me to go wireless. Awful experience trying to use help services offered to help me trouble shoot if I agreed before hand to pay. DON"T BUY THIS !

I went from an HP Office Jet All in One printer to this one when my old one pretty much died after 4 or 5 years. So far, this one is doing everything well. The only challenge was in setting up the automatic ink ordering program. I received my first shipment of ink, then the printer notified me that I was nearly out and needed to reorder which was supposed to happen automatically. It finally took a couple of hours on the phone with the InstantInk people and several resets of my printer to get everything working properly. But, it is now fine.

The HP 6968 is an excellent wireless printer for all of your printing needs. It comes with the instant ink option, so that you will never run out of ink. This is a big plus as I have several college-aged children who use this printer daily. Setup was easy, even on a Mac, and I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes. It is faster than my last HP printer and the scan/copy option is a life saver for cutting down on the storage of paperwork that you might need to save. For the price, this is a great printer for every day use!

The printer starts without a long wait period and is reasonably quick. Print quality is very good. Colors are acceptable. The required HP ink (902) is not widely available and is quite expensive ($60 plus to refill the four cartridges). Paper addition and use of the features to copy and fax are all very convenient. It is a good unit for light users but the expense of the ink would likely make it a poor choice for heavier users.

This is a good printer for the money. Was recommended by Best Buy Sales Person. Did have issue in scanning with document feeder. Called HP customer service and they were able to resolve the issue. Please note printer does not have a slot for memory stick and the document is scanned directly to the computer. Previously had purchased best HP printer but had trouble with printer after 2 years. Decided to go with less expensive HP printer. This printer seems to do what I need at a cheaper cost. Appears printers are only made to last a couple of years.

This printer replaced 2 HP printers that both died around the same time 6 months ago. It''s been great for printing, copying and scanning. The staff at Best Buy were very helpful in recycling the old printers and in selecting a replacement. One thing that's missing that the prior printer had is a USB port that allows you to scan directly to a storage device. It does, however, have the ability to set up, scan and send directly to an Email account.

This printer worked great... for about 3 months. Now when it prints, it fails to print in black.. or copy in black... unless you do a self test, then it prints perfectly. Ink cartridges are WAY too expensive. HP has no idea what's wrong with it. I've updated software, firmware and drivers... no help. This is the 2nd time an HP printer has FAILED ME early in it's life. I think I"m all done with HP printers forever now. BAD PRODUCTS. Switching to Epson.
