Great printer - difficult setup

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e printer came very well packaged. It was wrapped in a plastic bag that had a handle so the entire printer could be easily removed from the box. This was SO helpful. The printer itself seems to be fairly good quality (for mostly plastic components). The ink cartridges were also well designed to open and install easily. In order to setup this printer, you have to go to a website and install the HP Smart software. There is no way just to go to Wi-Fi or network settings on the printer directly (without learning secret bypasses). I followed instructions for the 123.hp.com app on my phone and it said "We're sorry, we don't support this device or operating system". I have a Moto Z Android phone - nothing special. So I clicked on the Tap Here for more options, which brought me to another dead end since it did not have the model listed. I could not run the HP Smart software. I went to my computer to download the software, but ran into the same thing - the software would not load and run. Finally, I found a way to bypass the setup on the printer itself and connect it using my computer. Very cumbersome to have to use an application (that didn't work) to just connect the printer to a network. That being said, once connected, the printer quality and speed made up for the frustration with the installation. The quality is not grainy at all - on the normal print setting (at 600 dpi and up to 1200 dpi) and the speed is impressive at 20 ppm. Even though my setup had issues, which could be related to my phone or slow internet, this is a very good printer for everyday use!

Great wireless printer for office or home

Great printer for scan, copy, fast color print and fax for the office or home, easy to set up and control from the HP smart app. This HP printer includes an easy to use color touchscreen, 225 sheet input tray, auto document feeder, a full year of HP instant ink and one of the features that I really like about this printer is the HP+ security features that help you print from anywhere, automatically fix connections issues with its dual band WiFi and protect against viruses and malware. The printer has an USB that you can connect any device like a camera or a phone to print pictures. This is a big printer so you need enough space in your office or home to put it. The only thing that I noticed and have not experienced with previous printers is that the scan light bar underneath keep flashing green light even when not in use, not sure is this normal or this will ended up blowing the scanner light bar. So far the printer has been very helpful for my home office specially with 20 pages per minute in black and 10 pages per minute in color.
Pros: wireless, easy to use smart app control, fast printing, two side printing, security features and HP+
Cons : no photo printing

Small Footprint with Office Capabilities

There is a lot to like in the HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e, first being a good fit for college student dorm, home office or small business applications. The capabilities engineered into the footprint of the 8034e will meet the requirements of most users readily.
First takes, the printer is exceptionally simple to install and get up and running within half an hour. Installation quick start pamphlet has eight basic steps from unboxing to turning the system on and printing your first document. Setup guide is well illustrated and instructions clear.
Few of my likes are the printer is quiet, unlike some small printers I have worked with in the past. Another is privacy options (ability to not share system data) on HP Smart have options turned off by default. Refreshing that when you sign up for the year of free ink refills (700 pages a month or 8400 for the year) a credit card is not necessary to setup your account for the free refills.
During installation the printer will print an alignment sheet which is scanned by the printer to complete the alignment of the print heads. That is cool, so much simpler than older methods of printhead aligning.
Touch LED screen is clear and easy to read and use to manage your jobs. Screen is responsive to touch.
System does not have capability to scan both sides of documents from the Auto Document Feeder, a tradeoff for smaller footprint. If you need to scan both sides of documents, you will need to manage manually with flat bed scanner. For me that is not an issue as most of my scanning is always single sided.
All in one – has everything a small business or home office requires:
1. Fax
2. Copy
3. scan
4. Printer
5. Double sided printing
6. Print last page to last
7. 8x11 and Legal capable
Network and Connectors:
1. Network/Connectors
2. Ethernet
3. Wifi 802.11
4. USB 2.0
5. RJ-11 FAX/Phone
The OfficeJet Pro 8034e printing is excellent and business quality, print jobs are delivered quickly. The printer has what it takes to run a small office or give your favorite student high quality hard copies from research papers to resumes.

Perfect little office printer

Out of the box you will have plenty of instructions to be able to get you started. Physical literature, as well as QR codes to scan, and download the HP Smart app. There are a lot of cardboard, and protection pieces, so make sure you follow them carefully, so they are all properly removed prior to first use.
Connecting to my work went off without a hitch, and the printer itself is lightweight enough that I didn’t need my partners help to lift it onto the table.
Once setup, the printer will have you print a test page, and then scan that page to ensure alignment. The screen is a little less responsive than I had expected, but really crisp and clear for a printer.
You are able to send invites to other people, so they can print wirelessly, and you also have the open to print from anywhere even if not on Wi-Fi.
All the needed ink cartridges are included, and also the option for a 12 month trial for HP instant Ink. After the trial, you will have to pay if you want to continue having them shipped to your door after, and they charge per page. $5.99 for 100 pages a month after the trail
The all in one scans, faxes, and prints some of the highest quality pages I have ever seen. My only complaint is there is no printer paper included, so be prepared to have some handy same say you set it up because you have to print the test page before completing instillation. It is also pretty strong, and sables the table I have it sitting ton currently, so make sure it’s located on a strong surface.
Overall, I am have pleased , and this has now replaced my previous printer because of the features and quality.

OK ALL-AROUND PRINTER – DRAB COLORS NOT CONSISTENT

MODEL REVIEWED
HP - OFFICEJET PRO 8034E WIRELESS ALL-IN-ONE INKJET PRINTER WITH 12 MONTHS OF INSTANT INK INCLUDED WITH HP+ - WHITE
MODEL:OFFICEJET PRO 8034E
HEADLINE:
OK ALL-AROUND PRINTER – DRAB COLORS NOT CONSISTENT
OVERVIEW
The HP OFFICE JET PRO 8034E is an OK all-around printer and does a little bit of everything, printing, scanning, etc. Unfortunately, I found the color prints drab, and even when printing something simple like a blue colored logo the shade of blue was different on each of my 3 test pages. This was using the included starter ink and only on page 5 of my prints, so there should be plenty of ink still.
I like that the unit is overall very compact and does not take up too much room in my tiny home office.
When I did a “Photo” copy the results were pretty bad. Granted this was not on photo paper or anything like that, but still other printers from HP I tested did just fine on photos with plain paper.
I know HP makes better (more accurate) color printers, but maybe you have to spend a little more if that is important to you.
For my needs, I just wanted a basic color printer that supports 2-sided printing and prints in color to make it easier for me to review contracts that have been “red lined”. In that respect, this printer will work just fine.
INITIAL SETUP
The initial setup is improving over even last year’s model. I used the PC / Windows to do the set up and it worked just fine. The only snag I had is during the setup process it only offered 6 months of free ink, but as long as I ignored that and completed the process, in the end it showed 12 months of free ink. I think somewhere along the way in the setup process there is a “hard coded” 6 month ink commercial.
SUMMARY
I can’t really recommend this printer from HP if you want quality (professional looking) and consistent colors. If you just sometimes want to use color text in your documents it should be fine. Even on best quality, the text is a little fuzzy overall.

Perfect solution for a home setup or home office. The setup itself could not have been easier. I love how seamless and thorough the setup guide was. After installing the INK, which again, was easy, the printer displays a QR code you can scan to install the HP Smart app on your cell (iOS or Android).
Speaking of the HP Smart app, it has every feature you could need all in one central location. You can send Mobile Faxes, print photos, scan from your phone (or the printer itself), and of course copy. You can also utilize printer from anywhere, which lets you printer from you phone to your printer from anywhere (as long as you have an internet connection). I for one have found this useful, as I tend to forget to print because I am not close to a printer, so now I can just print something right away and it will be waiting for me at home.
The screen on the printer is touch screen and it is very responsive. I have had no issues utilizing this screen to navigate to what I am needing at the time.

I've been using the HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e for a few weeks now and I'm really impressed with it. It's a great all-in-one printer that's perfect for home or small office use.
I love the fact that it's wireless, so I can print from anywhere in my house. It's also very easy to use, and the print quality is excellent. I've printed everything from documents to photos and they've all come out great.
I'm also a big fan of the Instant Ink program. It's so convenient to never have to worry about running out of ink again. I just pay a monthly fee and HP sends me new ink cartridges when I need them. It's a great way to save money and time.
Overall, I'm really happy with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e. It's a great printer that's perfect for anyone who needs a reliable and affordable all-in-one printer.

The HP Office Jet Pro 8034e is the best printer I have ever owned. I can’t believe how quick the setup was. The added bonus of Insta Ink makes maintaining the 8034e extremely easy.
Taking the printer out of the box you will find a quick start guide, power cord, and starter ink cartridges. The instructions have you use the HP Smart phone app to move through the setup process. This makes setup move quickly and easy, whether installing the ink or setting up the Wi-Fi.
The HP Smart app allows you to quickly check the printer’s status and the ink level and if you have multiple HP printers, you can manage them from the app as well. The Printer’s touch screen tilts for better visibility and provides copy, scan, print and the settings menus for managing the printer. You will find the page feeder on the top of the scan screen that will hold multiple pages to be copied or scanned. I find this to be a great feature. The printer paper is loaded from a tray on the bottom of the front of the printer and once printed it exits above the paper tray. The 8034e can print double sided prints from multiple single pages and it does it quickly. Any device that is on the same Wi-Fi network can print to the 8034e. whether it’s from your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, printing is simple.
The 8034e is made of hard plastic and is sturdy in construction. The print quality is excellent and fast in both black and color printing with no smearing.
I have had several printers over the years, and this is the best one I have ever had and recommend it to anyone who needs a multipurpose printer.

I am a BIG hp supporter. I just have the best and easiest uses with HP.
I HATE computers but HP makes the little i do use them easy for me.
My husband wanted this cheap lil epson printer and wanted to get rid of my HP printer i had for 11 years (bought before we started dating)!
He wanted "fast and convenient," said my HP was too slow and we needed an updated one. I don't believe in buying new unless it breaks (and yet he's 15 years older than me, but has my generation mentality while i should have born in the depression era haha).
To appease him, i gave my hp to my kids and let him have his way. I knew this new little epson he wanted wasnt going to work out, so of course i let him find out the hard way: by experience....
4 months later he realized why i stick with HP.
Back to searching for a REAL PRINTER. i found this larger but WAY BETTER HP OFFICE PRO and so glad the epson sucked so i could get back to my beloved brand of HP.
We did sell the epson so got some $$ back and got $50 of use out of it. One day my husband might learn that his wife may not be computer literate to his phenomenal degree, but at least i know well enough what NOT to buy and what to get for the best bang and longevity. Love HP. I pray this one will last as long as my other one does, which is now with my kids 3 hours away and STILL WORKS even if it does take a minute sometimes to print. Its from 2013, come on!
This office jet is Easy set up. Ez use. Ez to understand.
HP must know there are ppl like me out there that HATE computers and technology so HP makes sure they have a handle on their products so ppl like me will buy and enjoy the little tolerance we have for technology, instead of throwing them out the window and screaming how much they suck (like i would have that epson but sold it instead bc it was a nice little printer, but i hated it. Now the epson has a happy new home and i have my HP. Win win!
THANK YOU HP!!

I almost always buy HP printers because they’re reliable, easy to set up and have really good products. And this model is no exception. I can print documents from my phone and I can have up to 4 people added to the account for wireless printing. Plus, I got 6 months of free ink with purchase!

Very pleased with this product! Excellent home printer! We have had Epson printers for our home the past 12 years. This time, I wanted to try a different brand--either Canon or HP. Did A LOT of research to narrow down choices. I went into Best Buy after research and spoke with an employee who was very knowledgeable and patient. Set up was a breeze and I am a senior citizen! LOVE the Instant Ink option, which we are trying out for the first six months--really cool! If you want a high quality, dependable printer, I highly recommend this one! It is far superior to the Epsons we have had in the past!

had to replace my bulky laser printer which I have had for about 10 years. Love HP products. Printer was easy to setup. I enjoy the digital screen for printing. One small negative is that the power button is a bit hard to push. Have to push on it a certain way or it won't turn on or off printer. Printer is quiet. Prints are exceptional. this is a Good printer.

Overall good printer and has excellent print quality including photos using the HP photo paper. Easy to print from iPhone. I took a star off because it seems to use a lot of ink and when the cartridges are about halfway to running out the prints are blank or just lines across the paper. No warning ahead of time about low ink. Frustrating when you need a document that day and have to wait for cartridges to come in the mail (instant ink).
