This is my review of the HP 9025e officejet printer. This printer is taking the place of my HP 8035 printer which has been a great unit. The first thing I noticed when I unboxed the 9025 was that it was a little taller than the 8035 but was also a little more than 1 inch narrower across the front. I know its only 1 inch, but it was noticeable when I placed it on the table were I use my printers. The 9025 is listed to print black and white copies at 24 pages/minute and color at 20 pages/minute. That is really good and after printing for a while with this unit, it does seem to get pretty close to that with everyday printing tasks. This model has some nice features as well such as a 250 sheet input tray and an additional 250 sheet tray, easy slide off glass and mobile faxing which I believe is free for the first 12 months. The one thing that I really like is what they call the single pass 2 sided document feeder. That is very convenient when copying and faxing double sided documents. Setup was really easy out of the box, only about 4 steps and your up and running on your home network. I already subscribe to HP print plans, but this unit comes with 6 months of HP+ mobile ink and security. By signing up on the plan, I received an extra 1 year of warranty on the printer. Colors are really good as has been my experience with HP printers in the past. I don't have anything negative to say about the printer or the process in setting it up. If you are looking for a printer capable of handling a small office, or need a really nice all in one for your home office or the kids to print out school work on, this model seems to be able to do about anything most people would need.

Thins thing is bigger than I expected, it’s definitely meant to be used in a office setting which is perfect for me. I set it up at my office, and powered it up and connections were a breeze. Easily connected to WiFi, but the black ink cartridge did NOT want to stay in. I’m not sure if I didn’t install it correctly or what, but the instructions were a bit vague on that. The color cartridges were fine. I finally got the black cartridge seated correctly, and went to install the paper, ok sounds simple enough...put the paper in the tray... and could not get the tray all the way in. But the tray was sticking out an inch or two.... but the screen on the printer said it was in correctly and even printed a test page correctly! I kept trying to get this paper tray seated and finally had to tilt the printer onto its back and force the tray in. It worked! I believe that was my fault, I don’t think it sized correctly for my paper. Now the tray goes in and out like normal, no issues! The problems I had were not a big deal and most likely user error.... I won’t knock and stars off for that! I love the performance of the printer, it prints SUPER fast, and HP+ and the HP app are nice additions.

    Excellent Small Office All-in-One Printer

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All in One printer was clearly designed for small office use and pretty much perfectly hits the mark. It offers the speed, paper handling, and features and functions usually found in more expensive color laser printers. It could easily and cost-effectively be installed instead of a mono laser printer and color printer combo. Did I say fast? It's really fast. Single sided black only documents print well above the 24pg/minute stated speed, I would guess closer to 30-35pgs/min. Text quality is excellent, even in draft mode. Color printing slows it down a bit, but it's still well within the spec'ed 20pg/min. Again, the color print quality is excellent. Rather elite performance for an inkjet printer. Didn't try a mac or iphone, but printing from Android, ChromeOS, or Windows was equally easy. With two 250 sheet trays, the 9025 provides excellent paper capacity. Both trays expand to handle up to legal size paper, and one tray can be dedicated to envelops or photo stock, while the other handles everyday printing paper. I tried printing on #10 envelopes, photo stock, 3x5 index cards, and larger 7x10 envelopes, all without problem. Copying and scanning are equally fast and versatile. The scanner scans both sides of the sheet in one pass, so there is no slowdown for duplex scanning. The 35 sheet ADF took both regular documents and a photo stack without issue. Scans can be stored as jpgs or pdfs and can be sent to a connected computer, email address, or a USB stick in the front facing USB port. Didn't really try the fax function as I don't really have much use for it anymore. Faxes can be printed or stored locally in the printer and printed later. There is an option to forward faxes to an email address or store to a network folder, which really makes it much more usable in a small office. Setup was a breeze. Control is through a 3" touchscreen with a very intuitive menu system. WiFi connected as soon as the SSID/Password was set, no problem, and the 9025 supports both 2.4 and 5Ghz bands, Yay!. The printer can also be connected through Ethernet or USB. The touchscreen can be used for standalone operation of the fax, scanner, printer and copier. There is an app, HP Smart, that is available for Android, IOS, Windows, and MacOS to control, monitor, and operate all the printer functions. And speaking of Android (my choice of phone os), the Smart app integrates nicely to make anywhere printing a reality. HP has done a really nice job of 'Cloudifying' the printer, so that it can directly access network folders, Google drive, Dropbox, and some others. I suspect the list will grow. It supports a 'print from anywhere' function through an email address which I did not configure or try; not too sure I like the idea of opening a spam portal, but it can be locked down to only certain source email addresses. There is also a 'Smart Tasks' facility which is kind of a macro facility. It allows common tasks with multiple actions to be automated into a single command (see, think "Macro"). There is also an 'apps' interface that I suspect may be used to provide even more functionality. The ink cartridges are high capacity. The 'xl' cartridges are about $90 a set list, and provide 1600 pages color or 2000 pages black, so about the same as a laser printer. HP has instituted an "Instant Ink" program, for a fixed monthly fee, you get so many pages/month printed, then they send you replacement cartridges. They claim it's up to half the cost of buying cartridges outright and certainly more convenient, but your mileage may vary. Overall, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All in One printer really sets the bar for small office printers. Highly recommended, I don't think you will be disappointed.

      Hello Herb,

I am sorry that you're going through so much ink. Unless you were purchasing cartridges that were not filled properly, it sounds like you print lots of pages daily!

I can certainly understand wanting to find better options for your printing! Toward that end, you might be interested in trying Instant Ink.

For one thing, the cartridges hold much more ink than the regular (or even the XL) ones. Also, the ink normally will arrive at your doorstep before you need it again. Details about the pay-by-the page plans can be found here: instantink.com

This printer has surpassed my expectations. It was actually very easy to set up and took less than 10 minutes. The print quality is very good and it is pretty fast in copying, printing, and scanning. The HP smart print app adds a great deal of functionality including the ability to print from your iPad or iPhone (or other smart device if you are not an Apple person.) It connected automatically to our wireless network I have not had any issues using yet over the past few days.

This is the first time I’ve not been thrilled with an HP printer. We’ve been almost exclusively an HP shop (at work and home) for decades. For example, we recently had to throw away a 25-yr. old HP 5p LaserJet printer because the toner cartridges are no longer available. But the workhorse printer still worked perfectly. On to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e: This All-In-One can do everything we need: Print, Scan & Copy. It can also Fax, but we haven’t used that feature in years. As with all the HP printers we’ve owned, the casing is plastic & feels flimsy. On the good side, the internal machinery has proven to be solid and long-lasting. - Setup: This unit has a sticker covering the USB port with a message advising that wireless setup is required first; then you can turn it off & connect directly to a computer if desired. I tried both options & they work fine. Wireless setup with the HP Smart App was smooth & easy. - Print Quality: 4 stars. Text is crisp & colors are sharp. - Print Speed: 5 stars. Surprisingly fast printing especially for an inkjet - Machine Quality: 2 stars. Plastic casing. Clunky & loud when printing/resetting. Very disappointed with the ink cartridge housing. My prior HP printers always included a definite detent & confirming “click” when inserting ink cartridges. But rather than getting a solid lock, this unit’s spring-loaded ink compartments forced the cartridges back out. It took several tries on each cartridge to finally receive the “all-clear” message on the display. Getting all 4 cartridges seated properly was annoying & time-consuming. - HP Smart App: 5 stars. The ability to print from any device is awesome! The Smart App lets you print from your phone & displays all the printer settings you would have on your PC. - HP+: 4 stars. Required at setup and gives an extra year of warranty, 6 months free ink & Instant Ink. HP+ requires a continuous wireless connection to monitor ink levels so it can ship ink automatically as needed. Overall, the 9025e is a decent choice for small business or medium-to-heavy personal use. I would normally give HP high marks but, unfortunately, the construction quality is not up to par, & the requirement to use only HP ink for the life of the unit knocks it down to a 3.

I really like.this printer. Setting it up was really fast. The cartridges installed easily although I did have to use my phone flashlight to see to get them seated. It prints relatively fast and is quiet for a printer this size. It does have one drawback. When an update comes for it, the printer will install it even if it means stopping a printing project. This happened to me with a rather large project and I had to go back to see which pages I needed to reprint. That is annoying. The color is nice and HP + was very easy to set up and new cartridges were shipped right away. I think this printer will help me with my writing and printing endeavors in the future.

The HP - OfficeJet Pro 9025e Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer is everything you need for a home office printing solution. It's easy to use, the paper tray holds an entire pack of standard size printing paper and it prints fast with precision. This printer works great for producing larger documents (30+ pages). Every page looks perfect. The font is very clear. No smeared letters. I'm really impressed with the speed of the printer. Even color pages print fast without sacrificing quality. You have a variety of connectivity options. Wireless (WiFi & Bluetooth) and USB. You can print directly from you wireless device which is awesome for printing on the go. The scanner is amazing. Double-sided scanning makes scanning jobs much more efficient. No longer are you required to scan one side at a time. Huge time saver. You have the option to determine the quality of each scanned document. The higher the resolution, the lager the file size. I use the scanner often as I can scan directly to my phone and attach to an email in one step. This HP - OfficeJet Pro 9025e Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer is all you need for your home office/office. I highly recommend this printer!

      Hello there,

I’m sorry to hear that your printer stopped working. It’s easy to understand why that would be a frustrating surprise, especially after you’d had it only for 2 weeks so I’ll offer a resource and some information I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review what issue your printer faces or why it’s not working, so I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Best Medium Sized Printer for Home and Office

This is by far the best printer from HP that I've ever owned. I immediately wanted to test how well photos came out when printer using my gallery on a smartphone and I was very impressed at the quality of the image with the popping out colors and vibrant tone. When it came to printing out large quantities of documents and files this printer was able to deliver very quickly. From the start I hit print to the moment I received a large stack of printed paper was very impressive. A lot of my work also involves scanning documents and the quality of the scanned documents is very clear. I can scan directly to a phone if I'm in a hurry or to my computer. I can even send it via email directly from the printer after it scans. I am also able to receive faxes from this printer which will come in handy when I have to work from home. All the new features in the HP app are for the new generation of students and work force. I can voice control to print and I was able to use my camera from the HP smart app to scan a document and print it out when I was at the office and not in my home where the printer is located. I highly recommend this HP printer because for the price, quality, and experience it's definitely a great useful buy that should last a very long time without the need of replacement.
