Definitely worth the purchase. It is claimed to a budget gaming laptop, but it definitely doesn't belong in that category when it comes to it's performance. It runs all games I want at pretty good graphics, including, but not limited to Ark survival evolved, which is known to be tough to run on most desktops let alone a laptop. It has very minimal flaws, one being the brightness. It doesn't go too high, at about 300 nits, it's battery will last abt 5 hours with regular use, which is pretty common for gaming laptops, and the top of the laptop somewhat attracts fingerprints, it's not too bad tho, and can easily be wiped off with just your hand, you don't really need a rag or cloth, but it would be easier with one. Mine has an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor with Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660ti graphics.

It's a great laptop with excellent graphics and super fast processor. It's my first gaming laptop and honestly I can't complain. Great design, perfect size and reasonable pricing. Not to mention it came with a credit for Assassins' Creed Valhalla!

This laptop is a really great option, as long as you buy it at sale, (I bought it for $849). The ryzen 7 4800h processor performs great and is really efficient, in my opinion, it is better than an intel counterpart. Although the 1660ti isn't the fastest card, it still performs great and delivers a 60+fps in most games in high details. Keyboard is great, as well as the trackpad, one drawback is that the fans are very loud, also the screen is on the sort of flimsy side. Overall I think it's a pretty solid device that I recommend

I like my HP Omen, had a little hiccup, but it was fixed right away. I love the speed of the computer and look forward to testing it out. I normally buy a dual sided keyboard but am acclimating myself with the main keyboard. I like the touch of the keys and am please with the actual size of the laptop. I would reccommend the Omen HP Gaming app to those who need a laptop with lots of memory.

So many ups and downs with this laptop. Looks absolutely amazing and you can customize the keyboard to your liking. The materials are nice and there is not too much flex on the frame around the screen. cons: The edges are really sharp. More importantly, earlier, it hit 170 Degrees Fahrenheit and has been averaging about 120 in a fairly chilly house while in the default mode with power point and one page in google open and while not plugged into the charger. It does not feel any where near that hot, but the fans are constantly running at varying intensities which is draining my battery in probably less than an hour on the battery saving mode. Prior to this issue, it was a great laptop other than when I downloaded a Microsoft update that pretty much temporarily broke my computer. If this issue magically goes away, I will come back and edit this review. I'm beginning to wish I had kept the much cheaper Asus TUF gaming laptop instead.

this laptop is very good in my opinion and if your new into pc gaming your going to love this computer (only on sale) the only bad thing i have to say about it is that the ram isn't enough for big game like call of duty or apex legends but it can get the job done with at least 90 fps

I've had this computer for two weeks now and I absolutely love it. It was originally out of my price range, but I bought it on sale and it was definitely worth the money. I've always loved PC gaming- I started with Zoo Tycoon when I was a kid, and eventually I graduated to RPGs like Skyrim and Assassin's Creed. The problem was while graphics were getting better in the actual games, the standard laptop was not keeping up. The breaking point for me was when I tried playing Assassin's Creed on my old laptop and it was running at 12 fps. No joke. My old laptop was only about 2 years old then...and now it's 6 years old. I had been unable to even play simple games on it, so I decided to buy my first gaming laptop. Most of the decent laptops were way out of my price range, plus I just wanted to be able to run my less demanding games. I'm not out here playing Doom on ultra quality settings. Then I saw the Omen was on sale, and immediately snatched it up. It's run beautifully so far. On my old HP Envy, I was running Raft at potato quality in windowed mode with no shadows- and it froze on startup and once I had loaded in. Now, I can run it with quality settings at the highest and play for hours with no issues. Same goes for Skyrim. The computer was actually too good to run the game without the ground flickering, so I had to limit the refresh rate to 60 Hz with the NVIDIA control panel. It runs amazingly smooth. I've also run Morrowind and Planet Zoo with no issues. While it only has 8 GB of RAM, it hasn't been a problem so far. Plus, you can add more. The smaller SSD hasn't been a problem, either. I've downloaded 9 games so far (mostly RPGs) and I still have plenty of space. Some people complained about the fan being loud and running nonstop, but it just depends on the game you play. In Raft, it runs full blast from startup...probably because the computer is rendering water every second. I also don't mind it, as it's just white noise to me. In Skyrim it kicks in every now and again, but it can go long periods without running. You definitely need to have this laptop on a solid surface while you're gaming (fans are on the bottom). It only got really hot for me when I was playing Raft for 4-6 hours straight, but other than that it really wasn't bad. The screen is a little uncomfortably flexible, but it would only be a problem if you were carrying it by the screen or using it as a shelf- it's nothing major. I love that you can change the keyboard colors. The laptop has a sleek look and is lighter than my old one. The display is pretty nice, too. I found the Omen Command Center useful for checking up on my CPU and GPU temperatures when I was first testing it out. Added bonus, when it was loading the first quote that popped up was "Hey you, you're finally awake." Overall, I think it was definitely worth the price and I'm glad I can finally get back into PC gaming.

I have this laptop 2 months already and it's absolutely excellent laptop. Based on my previous bad experience with HP laptops this one surprised me pretty well. Easy to operate, runs fast, beautiful graphics, clear sound, little bit heavy but durable and nice material, also keyboard is soft and durable. The only thing is that the battery is short but instead of that i love it and i recommend it !!!

Great laptop! It's pretty fast (coming from a really old computer). It looks and feels really nice. The screen is really nice and bright (enough). The keyboard is on the nicer side (not the best but really good). In terms of upgradability, there's an empty m.2 slot for expanding storage capacity. There are 2 ram slots (both are populated), so you can upgrade to 16 or 32 gb kits later. One issue that I see right off the bat is that the plastic casing on the back of the screen is really weak. Not an issue as long as you don't put heavy things on top of the lap top with the screen closed. The fans are pretty loud under load but it does keep the laptop on the cooler side compared to other laptops with the same cpu and gpu. (Just use headphones). Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

This laptop has everything you need to run today graphic demanding games at 80+ frame and can probably still ok to play for 4-5 years to come. There’s no need to spend 2 thousand dollars on laptop because the tech keep changing every 2 years and laptop always go on sale haha. The keyboard is solid and the overall design is simple and doesn’t make you look like a geek if you bring it to a business meeting. Only negative is battery life but every laptop has short battery life. Just plug to a wall and your problem is solved. I got them on sale during Black Friday week. Overall I’m happy with purchase.

I got this laptop for my daughter at Christmas. About 4 months of use later, it's been really solid. The performance of the 4800h and 1660ti has been pretty good. We haven't run into a game that can't run on high settings at 1080p. My daughter likes to limit games to 60fps to reduce fan noise. In a lot of the lighter Indie type games she likes, this results in quiet operation. Heavier AAA games run well, but need the fans to run harder. Temps are fine, and there doesn't seem to be thermal throttling. The silly RGB keyboard is something my daughter really likes. She's in middle school, so she really enjoys changing the keyboard to match her desktop background, and stuff like that. For an adult, you can easily set the keyboard to be just white or something, if you're not wanting it to stand out at work. The HDMI and USB A ports allowed us to hookup our XP Pen drawing tablet. The performance in art apps was good, due to the 4800h being a bit overkill, but also the laptop is generally silent when working in stuff like Krita. 8GB of memory has been OK so far but we might want more for animation work... Luckily both memory modules are user replaceable in Omen 15. In some similar priced machines, thats not always the case. There's also a free M.2 slot for a second SSD. The only issue we saw so far was when a new Nvidia graphics driver made a game run at low FPS. We needed to go back to the last HP provided driver to fix the problem.

I did get the computer when it was down to $849, main reason I decided to pull the trigger on buying a gaming laptop (I’m normally a Mac girl). So far I’ve played Sims (guiltiest pleasure) and of course it runs great, and Planet Coster and Planet Zoo. Those 2 are pretty demanding and aside from the fans kicking on periodically and being a little loud (which I 100% expected), the games themselves run pretty flawlessly. I do plan on upgrading the RAM to at least 16gb, but other than that, I find the keyboard to be comfortable, haven’t really used the trackpad, the screen does feel a little on the flimsy side but I keep the laptop on a desk - 2 weeks in and no complaints!

I’m switching back from Mac after 10+ years. I just don’t think there is good value in quality, options or upgradeability in macbooks anymore, and don’t like the fact that they’re going ARM. I was looking for a device that is fast and upgradeable. I also wanted ports. HDMI, USB, etc. The ryzen 4k mobile series cpus are no joke. The design of this device is very modern. GPU is fast enough for the occasional game at 1080p. You can upgrade the RAM, replace the storage or add a second SSD. No need to carry any dongles. I was a little bit hesitant about how noisy it could be, but during light work it goes pretty quiet. Physically, the bottom half seems pretty sturdy. The lid is a little bit flimsy for my taste, maybe I could take off half star. The intel equivalent of a laptop this powerful would set you back an extra $200 or more. A MacBook would be at least double the price. In summary, this is a great workstation/gaming laptop for the price. If you don’t need powerful 3d graphics, maybe the X360, Dell Inspiron or Lenovo ideapad with 4500U/4700U CPU would be a better fit. I would stay away from Intel until they release Tiger-Lake cpu series...

My first gaming laptop, and I like it

Hi I’m an average consumer here, I’m 25 And live with my family. I got this laptop to dip my toes into pc gaming. I’ve had it for a month so far and I’m always so excited to use it at the end of my day. My favorite part is the screen, it’s so pretty and color accurate. My video games look colorful and watching YouTube is crazy, and lifelike. It has 8gb of ram, but I saw on YouTube that you can dissect the machine and add another ram? Or something? Idk it works for what I want it to. I’m not too picky. This is also my first AMD computer I have owned and used, I honestly wanted to just give it a chance and see what happens. The ryzen 7 is fast and the 1660ti works so well with it, like peanut butter and jelly. It boots up fast, and I’m never the last to load when I play my games anymore. Best Buy did a really good job at the curbside pick up. They texted me when my order was ready and I felt no pressure in going to get it right away because they hold it for you for like 4 days or something. They give you some instructions on where to park and then someone comes out and you get your product and go home. One thing that I did like too, was that getting it from Best Buy was way cheaper than if I had gotten the same machine from the actual company. It was crazy like $300 cheaper on Best Buy than on the website. Shhhh it a secret.

I have had my Omen about a month. It is everything i need and maybe a little more! 1st, graphics. The best graphics for the price by far! Crisp and sharp with a full 15.6 full HD display. Clear and bright colors. Has a backlit keyboard that i appreciate working later at night! Ultrafast graphics, Battery life, so far, excellent. It is definitely a beast of a machine. I do alot of photography and video editing without a problem. Fast and absolutely worth the money! There are more expensive gaming devices out there, but hardput to find one alot better. My only two comments are 1, it is a slight bit heaver than I was expecting and 2, it is not touch screen. But it is such a beast I can very easily forgive those! It does everything advertised and more!! To make it even sweeter, i found one on sale!

This computer is one of the fastest piece of technology I've ever used in my life. I was leery of buying an HP product but Omen is like the Acura to HP's Honda. This comp has the most premium parts built into it. For anyone who reads this, it plays valorant at 144fps on highest settings, and most games on ultra at a reliable 100fps i.e. Sea of Thieves, No Man's Sky, Overwatch even on the highest. If you can see on the pictures this comp has 3 USB A and 1 USB C, I know I couldn't see this. If you have any questions of this particular PC I'm open to questions on reddit, my username is u/SaintAustin
